Has any one else had problems with occasional ? low sugar  I get shakey and have that weak feeling (not dumping) this occusrs sometimes about 2 hours after eating, sometimes 1 hour , or with increase physical activity.......My surgeon said to add more fiber to my diet, but I think I am already doing that ....just wondering if anyone has had these problems and how did they respond to it. I carry a protien bar with me and have drank orange juice and even ate some sugar in a cookie(bad I know) but I needed something to bring me out of it... Thank you for any responses.

Have no experience with this.  Are you sure you're not dumping.  The symptoms are the same.  What did you eat 1 or 2 hours before.  Any carbs?  I know this is annoying but I'm trying to figure this out and help you.  Sometimes we dump on ridiculous things and it can be 2 hours later.  However, I've never heard of sugar helping a true dumping episode.  Hope you can get a handle on this.  Do you have a blood glucose monitor? Hugs, Lana

"WLS is about making better choices, a healthier lifestyle and seeing how little you can eat.  Portion control is the key to all weight loss surgeries.  Bottom line - it isn't how much you can eat - it is how little you can eat."

It doesn't seem to matter what I eat......It takes about 10 minutes after I eat or drink OJ for me to feel better then I'm ok. I just crave something to eat.....I don't have throwing up or diarrhea...I think I do need to take my blood sugar and see what it is. good suggestion... I need to borrow a meter.  I am not diabetic.

I have less trouble with my low blood sugar since my surgery than before.  If you feel this way 1 to 2 hours after eating, I really don't think it is low blood sugar.  It happens when you need to eat.  Like if I have waited too long in between meals. Let us know if you take your level. Good luck.
