3 years post op - unbelievable

Boy, it is hard to believe, 3 years ago on May 25th, I had my Open RNY, at St. Alexius Hospital.  UNBELIEVABLE....how my life has totally changed; starting out at 424 pounds. Now I am 162 pounds lighter and still going.  My weight loss now has been about 1/2 pound a week, most weeks, which for me is totally exciting.  My goal by this Christmas is to be out of the morbid obesity level and just be at the obese level.  I am taking it very slow at this point....because I have come so far and don't want to mess anything up.   I have to tell everyone that I am so thankful for this tool of this surgery...it has been such a blessing.  I have learned so much about nutrition over the last several years, and I find myself chuckling as I read labels of food products so carefully, especially when it is described as a healthy food in the advertisement.....oh oh oh....must be carefully to read those labels. ha ha ha.... So life is good, and I keep pressing on.....for those of you who are just starting your journey.....hurray!!!! keep pressing on....it only gets better every day..... Betty Myers

Layla: Thank you for the kind words..... Just a quick question.....how do you add the little weight loss ticker with the turtle thingy at the bottom of your post? Betty

i went to www.tickerfactory.com and you can build your own and it also has you make a password so you can go back in and update it when your weight changes.  once you build it all you have to do is open your user settings on the message board and copy and paste the ticker onto your signature section and save it.  hope this helps.  layla
