IT WASN'T MY BACK AFTER ALL!!!!!

I have been asking you all to pray for my back because it was hurting me sooooo bad.......I went to the doctor last week and she gave me muscle relaxers and had me taking my Ibprofin 800mg 3-4 times a day....But I wasn't getting any relief!!! So I went back today.....I still had not symptoms but we decided to do a urnin test.....GOOD THING WE DID!!!! I have a urinary infection out of this world... She said if we hadn't caught it now it would have knocked me out of having surgery!!!!!!  She was concerned about the blood , the part for it on the test was +2. I guess that is not good!  But I am on the right tract now....Got me some antibiotics and I am going to go back next wednesday to have it rechecked to see if I am clearing up enough to not cause any problems with my surgery......If it's not she better have a miracle shot lol lol lol...  So I guess now I need yall to switch from praying for my back to praying for my kidneys and bladder ......Well some relief in my back wouldn't hurt either!   Thank you all for being such sweethearts all the time and for all the praying you do!!! ..........God Bless you all !!!!!  Big Hugs & Luv...Tammy H.

Tammy... I'm sorry to hear that you were in such pain but also very thankful that the dr. caught the urinary tract infection finally!  Normally when I start hearing folks complaining about back or flank pain I start urging them to get a quick urine test.  Sometimes you won't even have any other symptoms other than the back pain.... I don't know when your surgery is ( I guess I should of looked at your profile!) but it might not be a bad thing for you to go ahead and get a shot of antibiotics on board to help bolster the meds you are taking right now.   Make sure that you drink oodles of water as well... helps to flush all the nasties out of your bod prior to the surgery.... Thanks!!!! I just started my 2 week pre-op diet Monday...So I will be getting quite a bit of water....I also got me some cranberry juice to drink on for the next few days....I know it's not listed for the pre-op diet but it usally always helps when I get a kidney infection. I been on the dang diet for over 3 months so I don't think it will kill me to slip a little for a few days to try and flush my kidneys...Well I hope not anyways!!!!!  My surgery is June 4th....So if it's not feeling better by Wed. or I feel anything at all I will be going back.... I know she will do the shot for sure then or anything she can to help me thru it...She supports my WLS 100%.....Thanks again for your response....Hugs...Tammy H.

Tammy... Well girlie... not too much more time then for YOUR big day!!!  I'm kinda fond of that day as well as it is my real birthday!  How cool is that?  Your "re" birthday and my birthday all on the same day *s*. Sounds like you are doing a wonderful job with the preop diet.  I don't think that drinking some cranberry juice is going to interfere too much with the plan.  I would look for the no sugar added variety though! Isn't it cool when your PCP really supports your efforts to have WLS?  I know I love mine to death --  she rocks totally!   Hang in there and drink drink drink....*S* Elizabeth~*

Tammy i had a kidney infection about 3 weeks before my surgery and had to do two rounds of antibotics to get rid of it. my surgeon told me to not worry that as long as i wasnt running any fever it would be ok. but thank God i got an all clear the day before my surgery. lol. sounds like yours will be about on that time line too. praying for you Jan

Jan,  Thanks so much for the info.....Girl I have had no signs at all....The doctor ask me a dozen times if I was sure I had no burning, odor, fever or anything!!!!!  She was sure with me having not other symptoms that it was probably do to the 50lbs I lost...She thought with the loss I was probably holding myself different and I thought I might have done it spring cleaning......But turns out we were both wrong lol lol...But I am glad we found out now....Thanks again Jan....Hugs..Tammy

wow what a HUGE reliefe that it's not your back Tammy...that is something that could have been a life long pain in the umm errrrrr back lol---I'll keep you in my prayers---I'm excitied for you it's getting closer and closer :D:D:D:D
