how long till i get my 1st appointment

OK I know that I am really not very patient BUT, can anyone tell me how long it took MBS ( Mo Bariatric Services) to call to set up an appointment after they recieved all the packet info????? tks for ANY feedback

It will probably depend on how busy they are....If you don't hear from them in a few weeks I would give them a call....They are usually pretty nice when you call to check on things. Best wishes on your journey....Hope you keep droping in to post!!!! Hugs..Tammy H.

I hate to be the bear of bad news...but I actually had to call to get my surgery appointment and kept waiting for Carrie to call back (which she was good at doing). You normally have to go through the pre-op class before they set up surgery, however there were a couple gals in class 2 weeks ago that had their surgery dates already. I also had to wait to get my surgery date because my iron was low in the beginning so they wanted me to get a CBC (basic blood test) to make sure I would be good for surgery (iron count good). :) Cheryl

Oh I hate also to be a bringer of bad news ...but welcome to the waiting game.....I know that for me , who also has NO patience, it's been a long time coming....lets see I went to the seminar in feb--having already had my pysch eval and pcp referral, seminar was on a sat. mailed my packet on monday, and had my first appt with my dr. in April...at the end of april....from there I thought it would go fast as I had all my blood work, and testing done here in springfield, but no...she ordered two more tests, which took about 3 weeks to get them to call and schedule me for--and when they did it's for June...and I have found they aren't extremely helpful at the office, well some of them, some of them are super nice--leslie super nice, I always talk to her now. So if ya need to vent and rant, write me, I know what it's like to have no patience and have that tiny bit I do have tested to the limit

I had to keep calling back. I called them about everyweek and kept bugging them. I was nice about it, but I think you have to stay on top of them. It will be 4 months from the date of my seminar to the date of my surgery. You can be a bug, just be a lady bug. Keep copies of everything, hand deliver what you can, and document who you talk to, when you talk to them, and what you talked to them about. I had to send in my paperwork in 3 times, so I know that they can have a problem with paper work. I waited two weeks the first time I sent in paper work, only to find out that I had to resubmit it. I Faxed it a second time, then waited a few days, and was told they did not recieve it. So stay on them. Also, if another doctor sends you a letter saying they sent something to them, keep it and bring it to their attention. I am an impatient person too, so I understand what you are going through. Just hang in there, I believe it will all be worth it.

Surgeons office received all my paper work March 5^th 2007

First Apt. March 22^nd 2007

All test completed on April 11^th 2007

Verbal Approval from Insurance May 2^nd 2007

Written Approval May 12^th 2007

Received All last appt. times May 17^th 2007

Pre Op Class May 24^th 2007

Pre Op Appt. May 24^th 2007

Pre Op with Hospital May 24^th 2007

Surgery Date June 18^th 2007
