Now what?  I'm 17 mths post op and am scared.  I've done some research and made a call into my surgeon, but what can I expect?  How do I know if I'm eating enough or too much?  Does anyone have any advise?  I'm 36 and this is my first pregnancy. Thank! Karen Scheuffele

Karen, I don't have any answers to your questions......but, I wanted to say congratulations!     I know that you are concerned with this happening relatively soon after surgery...... what did the dr. say? My best wishes and prayers to you and the baby, Becca

Dear Karen, CONGRATS on the pregnancy~Im very excited for you~From everything I have heard and read-I think you are okay, as far as being far enough out and things of that nature-plus I am 6 mos out-and I take pre-natal vitamins anyhow-so your OB doc will want you on those for you and the baby. Calcuim (milk products) will be important and so if your lactose intolerant, you may have to take in pill form.  Good luck to you, honey!! What a little blessing..I will keep you in prayer-and I know I had my last child at 35-and it was so much different than the first 2-mine are 21, 16 and 4. I enjoyed him the most because I was more mature, settled down and such-and I wish ALL the best for you! Janet

Congratulations!!!  I'm sure Dr. Hornbostel will help you handle this just fine.  You will get good advice - you might want to post on the main OH board too. Hugs to you, Lana

I really want to tell you congratulations, you give me so much hope.  I am 35 and still waiting on my first pregnancy to happen.  I had the Lap-Band surgery, so I don't know how bad it is for you.  They give us a year post surgery to be able to get pregnant.  I hope it works well for us.
