Was your surgeon Dr. De La Torre?
I just called to schedule an initial appt. The secretary says she will call back. I'm wondering if he has a long wait.
I'm still fretting/anxious over not losing weight on my own and miserable and happy to do something about it. Maybe this is normal. It is a personal defeat to me that I couldn't just lose the llbs.
I know before I get any older I should do this. I guess until I meet some people in the group meeting I will feel this way. I know it will help to hear and see others that have had the procedure and are doing great.
Thanks for your support!
Lori
Lori,
You are posting to the right place!!! We have all gone through the dieting wars and come out on the other side heavier than we went in. If we were GOOD dieters we wouldn't have surgery. Don't feel defeated, feel empowered that you have decided to do something permanent about your weight. You will be a loser and it's a good thing.
WOO HOO!!!
Hugs,
Lana
I will have surgery with Dr. De La Torre on June 18th. I got my date yesturday. My first initial appt. was on 3/22. I had little pre-op testing wich was done very soon there after and the rest of the waiting was for insurance approval and getting everything to insurance that they wanted.
read my profile to see my timeline.
Good luck Lori! It will come before you know it.
Hi!
I sent my packet to Dr de la Torre in December, after I got my PCP approval letter and psych eval done. I was approved by insurance in January. I had my surgery 4/25. I could have had it done sooner, but i wasn't able to make it for the February class, but I got my date on the 3/15 class so my surgery was 6 weeks later. I figure the entire process took about 4 months.
You'll like everyone at DePaul. Nancy and Della are the best!
