How was your SLEEP STUDY?
Hey Everyone in Missouri,
Im going to have a sleep study
done next month in Mt Vernon Rehab Center. I was told by many that it can be dry. What I mean is that they put you in a room wit nothing in it but a bed. I know your there to sleep but come on now in a strange place wit nothing in there, that can be uncomfortable to me, and I would be up all nite. I also was told that by one oh member not in MO. she had a a tv and vcr in her room. That would make me a lil at ease if I had that. So can you ladies or gents share your story wit to let me to make me feel a less worried. Thank You.

Barbara:
I had my sleep study done at St. Luke's South in Overland Park, KS. The room was really nice. It had a full size bed, a chair, table and a loveseat. It also had a tv and it's own private bathroom. I remember years ago I had one done at St. Luke's on the Plaza. It was just a hospital room with a bed and a bathroom, no tv or nothing.
Take care,
Debbie D.
Dear Barbara,
I had mine at Freeman Sleep clinic in Joplin-and I too thought I would not be able to rest and what have you-but I did-so they tell me....I didnt feel like I did-my room had a very nice bed, a huge recliner, tv, vcr and nightstand. I got to use the phone before bed, watch tv and they even put it on a timer so if I fell asleep-it would turn itself off. Lana had a good suggestion-I would call them and just ask- I have even heard of some that allow your spouse or other loved ones to sleep in the room with you....Good luck and I hope its as easy for you as mine was for me. I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Janet

Thanks,
They send me a pamphlet of what they be do and tells me what to bring and they have a full size bed. Didnt say tv lol but will ask. Im real nervous about this test in all ways. But glad just to know if I have this that I can get it treated now. But keep me in all your prayers and I will let ya know how it was. Thanks again.
My sleep study room was nice. TV, private bath ect. My sleep tech was very nice too. I just couln't get to sleep. I don't know if it was because someone was watching me or what but I didn't fall asleep tell 4am. They got enough of me sleeping in all stages of sleep though. I don't have sleep apnea. And the doctor told me even though I didn't sleep long I sleep long enough to say that I don't have sleep apnea. And he says sleep apnea doesn't come and go if you sleep for even a short length of time and don't have it you wont in a longer length of sleep time.
If I could do it again I would stay up all night the night before so I could sleep for the study. Be tired, be very tired!
Thats what I was planning on doin. I dont like all eyes on me and to know that someone watching me I dont think soo! Would be up all night. I talk to my mom about it cuz she had it done twice and dont have it thank god. But she told me it wil be ok and go in there and do what I gotta do you big baby lol
. So will let you know what happen take care.
