Self pay???

Hello everyone! I am still considering options, and am wondering if anyone knows a cash price for the RNY with Dr. Hornbostel. I know there are alot of variables, but I am trying to get a ballpark price. I feel like I am going crazy, but I am seriously looking at a 2nd mortage to pay for this surgery. I am just tired of fighting I guess. Now I am to the point where I have to decide if it is fair to my family to put this finincal strain on them, or is it more selfish of me to be the mom who never wants to do anything after work and always has the threat of major health problems hanging over her head? I am considering Mexico as well, but have concerns about that, partly I don't know of anyone who has ever gone to Mexico for surgery, and the idea of being so far away from my Doctor worries me. I think there is something so messed up with our health care system, we have to best in the world, but limit who can access it. If anyone has any thoughts or ideas I would love to hear them! Amy

I still have my notes from Dr. Hornbostels seminar and he wrote that RNY costs approx. $22,000. His cost 3,750, bothwell 17,500, and anesthesia 1,400. That is what he posted on the board. Hope it helps, Layla
