Sleeping medication question

Does anyone take Restoril, Prosom or Eurodin? I take Lunesta but it would be considerable cheaper if I changed to one of these. Of course, I'll ask my PCP next week but wondered if anyone had any experience with any of these. Thanks. Hugs, Lana

Lana, I have a friend who is a WLS alumni and she takes Restoril. We were on a trip together this spring and she told me about taking the Restoril at that time. She really likes it and says it does not leave her feeling "hung over' or groggy. Beca

There's an over the counter medication you could try that would be alot cheaper. It is called Melatonin. We use it on our elderly resident's at work because we can't use Hypnotics for them. You may try to see if it works for you, it's more of a natural sleeping aid. Denise

I take restoril and I love it. It doesn't leave me groggy or tired in the morning.

I have taken ambien and lunesta, as well as other things, tho none of what you mention. Lunesta is the best product I have found. I have not developed a tolerance for it like I did with ambien, it just keeps working night after night. I understand price tho- I am fortunate to get mine for 14.97 after insurance. I can get generics free, but I stick with what I know works since I had a real hard time finding one that did.

Robin, I, too, developed a tolerance to Ambien fairly quickly. Lunesta is the very best thing I've ever used and I'm not giving it up. My prescription drug carrier "suggested" that I try something else to help hold down costs but that is the only drug I take that is costly and considering what I had to take before surgery they are getting a bargain I think. Thanks for helping me confirm what I thought I already knew. Hugs, Lana

I've been on Trazodone on and off for three years, and it works really well. I only have to take it a few nights a week when I'm having trouble falling asleep. Trazodone is used as an anti-depressant and or for insomnia.
