Any help would be GREAT Kansas City Area

Ok I have made up my mind about doing the lap band. I have called my insurance co. and Aetna is stating that they do cover the procedure. My issue is that I have to have it done in a hospital that is owned by HCA ( centerpoint, Research, Lee's Summit, Menorah, Overland Park Reginal, just some examples). I dont know where to start to get a Doctor that is doing the procedure in these hospitals. Thank you

I think you might be able to call the Medical Staff Office at the hospital of your choice and/or the surgical floor or perhaps the information people might know. Pick your favorite and make them help you. Hugs, Lana

Hi... A friend of mine had her surgery at Shawnee Mission Hospital by Dr. Hitch**** however that's not HCA she just told me. I agree with Lana, I'd call one of those hospitals and check with them. I know Lafayette Regional is HCA but they don't do surgeries like that there. Denise

You might try Overland Park Regional, it seems like Dr. Hohen who normally does WLS at Shawnee Mission goes to OPR for surgeries as well? Call the Bariatric Center of Kansas City out of SMMC there # is 913-677-6319 maybe they can direct you to a HCA DR. BEV~
