WHATS HAPPENING MONDAY

Went out to check on the new ponds this morning and all the water was out of the big pond. OH NO> pump was still running , we didn't have anything at the time fastened to the top outlet on the pump and it was turned over sort of sideways. I think something tipped it , maybe an animal or something and the top fountain shot the water out onto the ground, because all around the pond was wet. Anyway I turn the pump off filled up the pond again and let it set all day long. There was no leaks that I could tell. So that tells me that it was as I said . I filled 5 different containers full of differen****er flowers and put them in the pond so they will start growing. I have room for several more. Will add them as I can. I have a black **** iris to put in there and some horsetail also to add . Today I turned on the A/c it got too hot in the house lol. Didn't leave it on too long tho before I was getting cold. Took my granddaughter to town to get some groceries , and back home I hate going into town like that I keeps me from doing all the things I wanted to do ..lol. We finally decided to do the underpinning on the shop building and told Joe that he needed to find something to run up under it to get out the rabbits if there were any underthere. So he started with a long piece of pvc pipe and no bunnys there but found out why there were no bunnys , there was a huge black snake under there. Joe ran him out and he was trying to go back under there and he picked him up by the tail and carried him out of the yard. He was at least 6 ft long. I appreciate him taking care of the rabbit problem but didn't want him under the shed lol. Anyway we got him out and then finished up the underpinning around the shed. Now maybe we wont have thousands of baby rabbits running around my gardens eating all the new tender plants. Hopefully if it doesn't rain tomorrow we are going to try to get the pool up. At least get the area all cleaned out around on the one side where we had it last year. With temps as warm as they have been it wont take long for it to warm up. Someone ask why I quit giving planting tips. I don't know? No one was asking questions I guess. Lol If you have a question please ask me and I will try to answer it . Lets see.....maybe this will qualify as a Planting Tip: when doing plant transplants of tender young annuals, try to do them in the evening or on an overcast day. Plants will suffer less transplant shock. MELISSA: good grief I thought you were suppose to be taking it easy lol. What a day. You made me tired. I can work all day weeding and stuff like that but the running around in and out of the car just wears my out to the point of total exhaustion. What kind of new toy did Terry bring home? You never said. Oh I bet it is one of the R.C. cars that Mike builds? Right? I bet that is really a lot of fun the racing those little things. So you aren't going to spill the beans and tell us how Janet got her hair cut. You will have to take a picture of her and replace the one she has as her avatar. I bet it looks cute. How ever it is. Hope you had a great Sunday. JANET; Hey thought of you and snakes when Joe was getting the big black snake out from under the shed today. Lol. You should have been here. Lol well maybe not. Cant wait to see your new hair cut. Is it real short? I bet you made it red didn't you? Lol Hope you can get the garage sale going this month. Make the future son in law get into the big shed and hunt stuff up for you . that way you don't have to worry about the snakes. Did your daughter decide to go to Stevens College? What about the b/f if he cant live up there with her. ? Hope the other stupid boy doesn't cause a problem. There are some really weird people out there anymore. Tattoos well if mom is going to get one , wouldn't it be alright for daughter too? Lol I don't know how you can go thru pain like that for something that will never come off. I guess I m too fickle for a tattoo. I would change my mind a little while later and then I wouldn't be able to take it off. That is like I change my furniture very often, I move plants most of the time from year to year. See im just too fickle. Lol So you got about half of your hair cut off is that what you are saying ? Up to your shoulders? Or shorter? That is what I am afraid of on the pool . I might call them tomorrow and just find out. That is an awfully big pool for only 350.00 . Hey on your gravel that has weeds coming up in it have you ever used a weed killer. Or maybe a butane torch on them. Would be a lot easier than hand pulling them. I need to use roundup on my pathways. The wild violets have tried to take them over. Those things are pretty in the spring but they are like a wild invading weed . SUSAN; what doctor decided you all had MRSA and didn't do a test? Seems a little moronic in my thoughts. I don't know where you would go to have that done , no one over there had any ideas? The hospitals couldn't tell you? It is a test that any lab should be able to perform I would think??? You mean they wont actually do the test by taking q=tips and swabbing the inside of your mouth? Is that what you meant? I would just like to know why this doctor that put you all on the antibiotics decided that it was MRSA. Without doing tests? All of these antibiotics given without proof of something is what is causing MRSA in the first place. All it is is Staff infection that is Resistant to Methacillian.... Wanted to tell you that if you want to know anything about planting things let me know you can even do it in a private email if you don't want others to know what you ask . There are no stupid questions, ok you can email me at [email protected] ANGIE:Hope your day went well . did you try going swimming? WE went down to the lake here and got in but it was pretty cold yet. Of course Bull Shoals is a pretty cool lake all the time. Glad that you have found some things that we have said that you can use to your advantage. I am glad that you are posting on my post and letting me know how you are doing. Love having new people on here. Hope to see you some day soon. DENISE: Yeah retirement is pretty good , don't think I want to go back to work really . I just think about it once in a while. Im enjoying the calm that I have in my life now. Hey sounds like you are going to make a good DON I always enjoyed working for a don that came up thru the ranks rather than right out of school and into the job. They don't have any idea what the nurses really go thru. Yeah I see you are scheduled for your surgery on the first of June. That wont be too long off. You will be surprised about how fast it goes. Will be here in no time. Oh I just wanted to say that I saw your picture on your profile and you are a very pretty girl. Wish you could get your picture put up as your avatar. So do you live close to Sedalia? I know you couldn't have picked a greater surgeon than Dr. Hornbostel. Well I think I have included everyone in the recap tonight. So will go ahead and post this. LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS JAN

Hi Jan and all Someone on the obesityhelp updates posted about how to put the pics on, I went to the site and it is so simple even I could do it. Here is the site. http://www.shrinkpictures.com/create-avatar/resize.php. It is free and easy...Didn't do much today, after my outing on sat. I knew my back and legs wouldn't let me do anything for a few days. My doc in columbia wants to burn the nerves in my back. He said it could last for a few months to a few years. I read about it on the net and it said it only works on about 40% of the patients. It is called nerve ablation. I was wondering if anyone else has had this done and did it work? At this point I am willing to try almost anything. Your ponds sound like they will be beautiful, I have looked at the pics of your flowers and you sure have a green thumb. Just beautiful. I love your gardening tips also. I have a beautiful hosta that is very old. Could I dig a piece of it and replant it this time of year? My daughter wants some of it. Didn't know if this is the time to do that or not. Angie: did you go swimming? Your a brave soul.. Brrrrrr, I think the water would be really cold now with all the rain we have had... Well guess I had better get to bed..I am finally getting tired..Have a great day....

Dear Jan and OH Peeps~ Yesterday was so nice-but we too turned on our AC as the attic fan didnt cool the house down enough and it was 93 in our house-YUCK....we went racing for a bit, about an hour and my forehead and nose got sun burned-along with my lower arms!! Told Mike we will have to set up our umbrella out there to have some shade-I wont go over by the only tree out there, because it has a lot of wood and rocks around it-and is further in the field-that they use that huge brush hog on-because I KNOW its infested with snakes-which we have already taken off our race track....told Mike I wanted to run over it with my RC monster truck-but when the time came-I was too scared!!! LOL LOL... **Jan-when I was reading your post about that huge snake-my mouth dropped and I thought I was going to woof my cookies-LOL...IM SO GLAD I WASNT THERE....Thats the reason I dont go down to Grandmas house very often-she has an 8 ft black snack she has befriended that lives in her storm shelter-which is right outside her back door-WHATEVER!!! Kill that monster and I will come out and play or help you weed-LOL!! Okay-so ended up with a lizard, 3 turtles and a frog in cages over the weekend-and your not gonna believe this-(WILD KINGDOM OUT HERE) Jon says Mommy, Mommy come out here and look at my turtles-so I go out there on the porch and he says- (with a straight face mind you) Mommy-look-they are doing the deed!!! I look around and Mike is laughing as he walks away-seems Jon overheard him (Mike) telling Darrel so Jon wanted to tell me-and yep-the turtles were mating!!! Holy crap!~thought it may be traumatized since my BIG dog had the BIG turtle in his mouth like it was a bone or something! We had to rescue him-and Dozer hates to give up his turtles-you almost have to wrestle him to the ground..... I guess I saw your gardening tip a little too late-cause we planted our seedlings yesterday and it was HOT and sunny out. We did our cardinal climber, morning glories all 4 varieties and our packet of marigolds. Geez-hope they turn out-heck, I know they will-Jon did them, I just supervised and put the potting soil in the containers-cause we all know he has the green thumb-and then we went to the corner of the kids area (fenced acre or so) and planted the sunflowers that he got to grow like nuts-right there in the corner. The pineapple and lilac bushes are looking wonderful and it rained like crazy in the middle of the night and is still raining-so I hope it helps everything to stay healthy and strive!! BUT....IT DOESNT HELP ME WITH THE POOL-I didnt say do the RAIN DANCE-I said-do the rain rain go away dance!!! I cant get the pool done without some sun for a week, 5 days at the very least - DARN IT- had the pool been up-I would have been in it yesterday-thats for sure! LOL-no, doubt it would have been warm enough yet-it usually takes about 72 hours of hot temps for it to be nice enough to get into-a lot of people think 70-73 is good temp-but it really is too cold for that pool-its really nice between like 76-80....perfect!! Jan-I lost about 6-7 inches of hair-I now sorta have bangs-and they dont go into a pony tail like they have for 5 years or more-ARGH...I hate that! I took a shower yesterday but it was too hot to sit and play with it and style it-I do have a "style" now-which is nice and I love the fact that Robin fixed it so I wouldnt have it just 3 inches long-LOL...I have NEVER had natural curly hair-but she said it had some curl to it-and that it was wavy-and I couldnt believe it-after it dried-it did have a wave and a curl to it???? whats up with that? Ive had it much shorter than this before-and never had anything but straight straight straight hair!~ The color-its a bronze brown-got kinda a sheen to it-and I bought a highlight kit-but havent decided if I will use it yet or not! The tattoo-I know-a lot of people dont like them-and others do...I dont really like change and we lived in this house for over 2 years before moving the furniture around-LOL....I already have one-on my left ankle, so I know the pain I will endure-and it wasnt too bad-however-just like childbirth-I think our memories subside of how bad the pain truly is-LOL...Mel TRIED telling me-the outline hurts the worst-once you get through that, its a breeze-told her to blow smoke up someone elses bum-since I remembered that the coloring was the worst part of it-and ecspically IF they had to go over it with another color-like on my ankle-going over it the 4th time-thought I was gonna die!~! LOL I, too wanted a tattoo ever since I was 16, but didnt get my first one until I was 35!!! Late bloomer I guess. Steph isnt really getting one-she cant stub her toe without crying about it for a week straight-she could NEVER handle a needle on her constantly for 1/2 hr or more! I dont even know if she could handle that funky ear piercing she wants, to tell you the truth! I got to talk to Krissy yesterday! She sounds wonderful and is doing so well-of course, she will feel better when that drain is out....I also called Chante, Susan and Tammy and left messages for them to call me back-was going my angel duties yesterday in FULL FORCE!! I dont have Trudys number-or I would have been bugging her yesterday too-LOL... Chantes surgery is this Weds-so please keep her in your prayers. A few more things you gave me fit now Jan-WOOO HOOOO...I have lost 2 more #s and now I can get into a size smaller-depending on who makes it, of course. Im so excited....I cant hardly believe it myself. I sat there folding laundry yesterday and I would hold up something (I had already worn of course) and showed it to my hubby and said-can you believe I wear this? I cant! Man-AND.....My back only hurt at about a level 5-and not until later in the evening-I went pain free almost all day, except for the knees a bit-I thanked God a lot yesterday for the pain relief-and I am thanking all of you-this is so wonderful! So-I am going in for that 3rd shot-and maybe that will hold me over for a couple of months....YAY... Well, not much happening today-have to venture out sometime today to get some milk and get something for dinner out of the deep freeze-but other than that, not much else going on. My mom has a cat scan this morning....some dumb A$$ doctor in the emergency room told her that she may have a tumor in her stomach-so she is convinced she is dying already-GEEZ.....Told her that she probably has her polyps again as she always gets them every couple of years and has to have them removed. If anyone can squeeze a prayer out for her, I would appreciate it-I know she is a hypercondriac, but it doesnt make it any easier to see her worry herself sick over it! If I could find a mind over matter boot camp to send her to-that I could afford-I would do it in a heartbeat-LOL.... Love to all-hope everyone has a wonderful week and stay dry-and my prayers go out to everyone-which reminds me-where are you Tammy Ammy with the prayer request post? Doing ok girl? Susan-glad to see you posting again-and WHY didnt you call me back? Good to know that I have MY VERY OWN BAIL BONDSMAN, in CASE I lose it with my ex-Love ya girl.....my little doggess the bounty hunter.... Talk to you all soon- All my love and prayers, Janet

Hello Missouri, Not alot of time to post today, kinda having to fit it in between tasks here at work. I had a good, quiet day yesterday. Sat in the backyard and read for awhile and something scared the dog to death in under the Hostas. I decided it might be a snake so I didn't investigate it. About dark I went out to check if I needed to water MY tomatoes and turned around and there was a snapping turtle on my patio/porch. I told DH and he said he was getting into the shower, city boy doesn't do turtles remember?, so I asked the man next door who was in his backyard what I should do. He said be careful because it would bite me and also that it had big claws. I decided I could get it into a box and carry it to the pond as soon as John came out of the shower. While I was waiting, Shane, the man next door rang my doorbell and he had a leather glove and a rifle. He said he'd either shoot it or throw it over the back fence for me. Of course, you know me, no killing, so he tossed it over the back fence and assured me it would go to the ponds down behind our house and over the hill. Hope it made it OK. I saw a dead turtle on the road by our development this AM and immediately felt like it was that one and it was my fault it was dead. I'm such a big softie for any living thing - don't even kill snakes, just re-direct them away from me. Then Shane told me we have a possum living under our front porch. EEEEUUUUWW. I told DH that and he said, "I wondered about that because I saw that hole on the west end of the porch with hair around it". Guess we will just leave it alone, hope it doesn't die under there or something. I am an animal magnet I think. Hope you all have a great Monday. I'm always praying for all of you. Love and hugs, Lana

Howdy Everyone...... Sorry about not getting the prayer post up the last few days.....Been so dang busy with spring cleaning, working on the yard and getting the pool up that I haven't had time to do much else....Well except for taking time off saturday to go some yard sales.. Campbell had their city wide yard sale so my friend Paula and I went and hit several of them..... Then sat night I ended up back in the ER with my Step- daughter again!!!! The antibiotics they had her on weren't strong enough to kick on the bronchitis so they had to give her a different one and they gave her a shot of steroids in the butt to help kick it. I sure hope it works....6 hours of setting in the ER will wear you out...I just hate having to go there.....So since I'm not getting the prayer post up again today...Please pray for Heather....This bronchitis has really been kicking her butt!!!!!! You know guys..........The prayer post is not mine....I only started it because it seemed at times we had tons of prayer request and it wasn't always easy to keep up with them....So when I get busy like the past few days and don't get time to get on and get it started.......Then any of you that feel like it can do it....It wont bother me a bit....Even do it your way.....Sometimes there is so much going on I can't seem to find time to get on....Or if no one starts it then add your request in Jans What's happening post.....I know she wont mind and everyone seems to drop in there several times a day so I am sure everyone will see your request...... Janet so sorry I missed your call....You have been on my mind lately....I have gotten a burst of energy the past few days so I been at it hard cause I don't know how long it will last lol lol lol.....I am still working on my house where my daughter and her family move out...I can't move heavy stuff or do alot of lifting so I have to wait till Joe has time to help me and it's going kinda slow.....But I want to get it done for one so it will be done and then because I have several people comming to visit over the next few months and I would like things to look nice when they come....Seems like after winter there is so much to do...I guess cause you let it go more during the winter.....So glad you are praying so hard for me that means so much to me.....I have not weighed so I have no ideal if I have dropped any more or not.....I think I will just wait till I go thursday and see.....I have four appts that day and the last one is with Dr.Scott at 3:30 so by the time I see him and make the 6 hour drive it will be late so I probably wont post till the next day...I know I will be wore out....That 12 hours of riding really plays a number on my back!!!!!!! Sorry your having such a time getting your pool done....and it looks like the rains not going to let up much for awhile......Maybe you could get it cleaned out and make everyone get out there and help paint it then cover it and let it dry that way....The maybe the rain will let up a few days so you can get it filled....I know it has to be a chore cause ours is only a 16x3 1/2 above ground and it took 4 of us working on it all after noon to get it set just to start filling it ....then Joe was up every few hours last night checking on it...It didn't get done filling up till around 9 this morning...... Congrats on the 2 more pounds!!!!! I wish I had of gotten mine done in the fall so I could be showing off a bit now that it's summer...But I guess there is always next summer lol lol.... Hope things are going well with everyone your way.....I hope these next shots help..I hate that you have so much pain in your back.... Mel.....Girl.....I guess nothing slows you down much does it??? LOL LOL LOL.....How's DH doing????? I bet he is tired of taking it easy by now...If Joe had to slow down like that he would probably drive me nuts lol lol.....I pray daily for your FIL.....I know the challenge you have taking care of him and if I were closer I would love to come help out some......So did you get much at the yard sales???? I found a few things saturday...I got a really nice bed spread and curtains for Heathers room for $7...And a few odd and end things but didn't manage to find what I was really looking for..I had hoped to find Heather some shorts and my son needs some jeans....I plan on buying him a few new pair but I had hoped I could find some nice ones at the sales because with him they don't stay new for long....but he is so tall I probably wont find any...He wont be 18 till Aug and he is 6'5....So he needs a 36/36 sometimes he can get by with a 36/34 cause he wears them sagging off his dang butt lol lol......We will be having a 100 mile yard sale down this way memorial weekend.....it goes the whole length of Hwy 25.....You can find anything you want that weekend cause there is so many with sales out.....I can't wait to see what I find that weekend!!!!!! Jan....Thanks for all you gardening tips you give.....I'm not going to be getting much new stuff out this summer but I will be keeping in mind all the tips your giving this summer so I can use some of them next summer.....I do hope to get me a rose bush, I love rose's, especially white ones!!!! And I seen an ad for some marbeled colored tulips that were beautiful so I may try to get some to plant this fall with my other tulips. Chante.....Will be praying for ya Sis....I just know things are going to go well and you will be kicking butt on those pounds really soon..... Krissy....So glad to hear your doing good!!!!!! Susan....Hows things going your way???? I can't wait to meet my angelette sisters this summer.....If I know Janet like I think I know her we will probably have more angelett sisters by that time lol lol..... Want to say a big ole HOWDY to......Angie......Amy...Shawn....Beverly......Vesta.....Lana.....Tamra......Brenda... and all the others that post on here all the time......Can't wait to meet you all or re-see some later this summer.......I hope your all doing great.....And to all the newbies...WELCOME...WELCOME....WELCOME..... Don't be shy..jump in here and chat with us.....I love that our big ole family is steadly growing!!!!! Well darn its's almost 11am and Iv'e gotten nothing done except one load of clothes....I gotta run so I can get some things done so I can go to town and get groceries and stuff......Love ya all buches....Always praying for all of ya.....Hugs....Tammy H.

Howdy Jan and Missouri friends , Just thought I'd post since I said that I would. I feel so out of touch since everyone hear seems to be into planting. My dh wants to do some planting so this is great that I can come here and get hims a few tips perhaps. I'm not much of a green thumb myself but I'm getting more into recipes...anyone with any good recipes to share? I'd love to hear of any that you all are willing to share So what do we think about all of this rain that has come upon us? I'm not a big fan of the soggies myself especially since I've been trying to get outside more (read this as forcing myself to exercise *L*) these days. It's always something trying to thwart my efforts, that's right, I'll blame it on the rain . Sounds like an excellent excuse to me what do you all think? Hope everyone enjoys the day!

Thanks for the tip, Lana! I've visited the recipe board before but I was just hoping there were some tasty MO recipes people where willing to share. Maybe we can get a weekly recipe thread going of some new recipes that everyone has tried. I've been getting a little bored with the same basic foods that I've been eating so I've been looking around for healthy new things to try. I have been able to get a few books from the book store but I'm always looking for recipes others have tried and liked. Thanks again for your help!
