I can't get full.......
Hello OH,
As some of you know I'm going on my 3rd. month of the dr. diet visits. Since I started going I've started exercising 2 to 3 times a week at a gym,and I'm trying to cut out breads,pasta's etc.I try smaller meals and in between I try fruit or vegetables. Problem is I'm constantly hungry and I end up stuffin my face with a soda and rice or pasta till I'm stuffed
.I hate that hunger feel!!
I could eat fruit and veggies till they come out of my ears ,but 10 minutes later here comes the hunger pangs again.So my question is "how can I fill myself up healthy?"

I too am on a dr. supervised diet and I go to a dietician every few weeks and she told me to eat a lot of fiber it fills you up so you don't feel hungry all the time. Try some whole grain bread and look at the fiber content make sure it has a lot of fiber also Bran cereal has fiber you might try that? I was also having probelms where I would eat and an hour later hungry again told my dr. she checked my insulin level not sugar this is different she checked the insulin and come to find out I'm insulin resistant which is pre-diabetes and was put on Metformin (diabetic meds) it helps let me tell you I no longer feel hungry an hour after I eat. It's worth having the dr. check if this sounds like you because being hungry after just eating it feels like your fighting a lossing battle! Hope this helps.

You might try more protein too. You'll have to concentrate on that after surgery so you could practice. Beans are great, kidney, refried, white, any beans. Chili is the best of both worlds, beans and meat. Also deviled eggs, hard-boiled eggs, scrambled eggs - try a few of those with your veggies. Add hard-boiled eggs to salads. And the suggestion about adding whole grains is good too. Keep at it, you'll make it just fine. And the best part is that after surgery you WON'T be hungry. WOO HOO!!!

Hey Lana,
My two favorite foods..Beans and eggs,so that'll be easy.I know the big word after surgery is protein, so getting on that idea now will help.I am so sick of being hungry!!!
and hate that my life revolves around food! I'm gonna love putting all this energy into something good for once. Thank you again Lana for your much needed advice.
