Hey everyone! i'm having trouble figuring out what's a normal feeling or not in my stomach. I can't tell if i'm full, hungry, or just gassy or mild indigestion. I was having a feeling of having to burp in the hospital and was tapping my chest trying to get the bubble to come up. the nurse came in to see what was happening, said my heart monitor was going crazy....OOPS!! lol My stomach sorta feels like a brick laying in the bottom of it. It's not painful or nauseus, just weird feeling. I'm not sure if thats hunger or fullness. i'm sipping water almost constantly....feel like i'm gonna start floating here soon. At least my leg and arm muscles are coming around. that's was hard to deal with when those muscles are sore and you can't use your stomach muscles to compensate. Hope all is well for everyone....I'm keeping on praying for Sugar.

Pam, I think you're normal - or as normal as you ever were!!! I pretty much can tell you that you're not feeling hunger. Your new grouchy pouchy is still so raw and sore that what you're feeling is just the healing process happening. You are going to have some of the most wierd feelings in your abdomen - things have been rearranged in there. It has been four months since my surgery and I still have twinges and funny feelings that I can't identify. I think we just have to listen to our bodies and learn what they are trying to tell us. I think sometimes I mistake thirst for hunger and of course, even though I don't get hunger pangs, I still think I need to eat at mealtimes. Oh, our goofy heads. For you, right now, water and vitamins are the most important things. Hugs and love and keep on keepin' on. Lana
