Sugar just called me and said they came in late last night to tell her that they got the results from her gall bladder test. somesort of new kind that tells them how well the gall bladder is working. Has to be working at at least 50% hers is working at about a 3% level and it is a pretty sure thing that she will have that surgery. Then they are doing another test of somekind this morning that will show up all of the stomach and bowel area and see what is what there. But is a pretty good thing that she will have surgery to remove the gall bladder. She wanted me to find out how many of you that have had surgery had to go back and have your gall bladder removed? and how many after wards had to have a hernia repaired? Keep praying for her she is so disgusted and depressed and upset and wishing like crazy that she hadnt had the wls. Please pray for her to have peace and calm about all of this. Jan

Jan...Let her know I'm praying for her! As for the gall bladder, I lost mine 6 months after my first child was born 20 some years ago. My roomie when I had my daughter had to have her gall bladder out at the same time...that was strange! No hernia problems yet....thank God!! Tell her that if birthday wishes come true....mine would be for her to be better! Love and Lots of praying, Deb M

the gall bladder on a lot of people after wls messes up due to the extreme dieting that is going on. And yes it could have been messing up anyway before surgery due to the fact that anytime we diet (and who of us havent many many times.) we put undo strain on the gall bladder. Then with the wls and the extreme lack of food we have just puts it over the edge. Thanks Vesta for caring Jan

dear Friends, stopping in to say hello and especially to you Jan and Sugar. Rest assured you are both in my prayers and on our prayer list also. Sugar has had to endure so much since surgery but The Lord has her in His hands and will care for her. Please tell her hello. Maybe all the prayers going to the throne of God will help her get some peace and assurance. God bless each and everyone of you. Colette I almost forgot to put that I had no gallbladder problems and still have mine.

Risk of gallbladder disease within 2 years post bariatric surgery of any kind, is about 20-25%. It has to do with the rapid weight loss. The same ris****urs in anyone who loses >40lbs. in 6 months or less, even from fasting alone. Same ris****urs with use of medifast or optifast, or a real "crash" loss with weigh****chers or Jenny Craig! Risk of internal hernia is about 5% with laparoscopic gastric bypass, and

To Dr. Hornbostel and all that care... I just want to say that I have seen and dealt with MORE than my share of Doctors over the years with having a 14 year history of migraines, 20 years of back problems, 20+ years of SEVERE menstual cramps which ended with me having a complete hysterectomy due to endometriosis, 9 surgeries, having 2 children (raising 4), being my Mom's caregiver x 2 for leukemia, being my Father in Law's caregiver for 2 years post heart attack x 2 and 2 strokes, diabetes, parkinsons and the start of alzheimer's not to mention me being a diabetic myself and having a husband who has hypertrophic-cardiomyopathy. Unfortunately, there are only 3 that stand out among ALL those doctors, surgeons and specialists that we have seen. One, I can't remember his name but I SURE wish I could! He treated me for my migraines at Truman Medical Center East (Lakewood now), in the latter years of my migraines and made a promise to me that they wouldn't last forever, when I had lost all hope of living with these headaches! He told me that my type of migraines would end in my 30's and he was right! No other migraine Doctor ever took the time to say anything to me personally about them. It was all tests and drugs! Then theres Dr. Geoffrey Blatt, my back surgeon who has actually called me at home to see how I was doing because of some issues I was having after surgery. When I heard his voice on the other end of that phone, I was stunned and told him so...he said that, that was actually sad and I had to agree! Then theres Dr. Philip Hornbostel, my wls surgeon...we all know him as Dr. H or Dr. Phil...one of a kind! The man has a heart of gold, a smile that would brighten anyone's day and a way of pulling us all back from the end of our ropes, giving us hope that we will live again! I just needed to say that these three men have gone beyond their call of duty and I applaud each and everyone of them! If it weren't for Doctors like them, I would of given up on the medical world a long time ago with what I have been witness to! Thank you...Deb M
