Hello, I am so grateful to have found this site and I am looking for friends to add to my list. I am scheduled for Lap Band on 5/1/07 and I am very anxious. I would like to go to GNC to find protein drinks . I am in the process of preparing for and nervous about the 6 wks of post -op liquid diet. Any suggestions or contacts would be greatly appreciated Thanks Susan

Susan, You'll get lots of advice about protein drinks. Right now I prefer the fruit flavored ones, like Nectar Fuzzy Naval, but many many people drink ON Gold Whey. If you can get samples that's the best way, I think. However, tastes change and I fully expect to go back to the milky ones before too long. Just don't buy too many big cans. I think buying vanilla is a safe choice because you can put sugar-free nestles quick or any of the SF DaVinci syrups in it and change it. Good luck on your banding. I'm four months post lap RNY. Please visit us often, we love new peoples. Hugs and love, Lana

Hello Susan and WELCOME!! I had Lap Band surgery on 01-26-07 and am doing fine. The only protein drink I like is the Delicious Strawberry by ON. I get it at GNC. I tried the Double Rich Chocolate and didn't care for it at all. I hope that helps, keep in touch as we will help you through your journey with answering questions, giving advice and always praying each other through! May God Bless you and yours today and always, Deb M.

Thanks for the info, it means the world to me. It's good to know tastes change. I will look for the samples. I have my last appointment tomorrow before sugary, whops I mean surgery. Now more than ever it is imperative that I take the preverbal bull by the horns and put my white horse out to pasture. Until now, my relationship with my weight has been as a submissive victimized 3rd party. TODAY, I take reasonable responsibly for my size and recovery. I say reasonable, because I am not there yet. Only the best possible outcome is possible. I pray for the strength to stay positive and hopeful. -God grants me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference. Godspeed, Susan
