The Hummers are back. We were taking a rest yesterday on the back porch and they came in looking for their feeders. I ran to the shed to get the feeders and all but one of them was broken or just flat worn out. I have had the same ones for about 8 to 10 years. So I will have to buy more of them. I usually have about 4 to 6 of them up and have to fill them every day. Lot of time comsuming work but it is fun. They are such clowns. We always have a lot of them . It is impossible to count them but if I were guessing I would say at least 20 or 25 many more. They say for everyone you count you can add at least 10 to it.dont know about that figure but I do know we have a lot of them . And when the babies start coming around they are really funny. They will come right up in your face as if to see what you are. Well the third pond is just about set now. I have a picture to show that I do work on doing this too. Our neighbor took a picture of me and Joe and I am the one digging with the pick ax and Joe is leaning on the shovel. I was going to scan them and put them in my profile but cant for some reason get my scanner to work. It says it isnt connected lol Oh well will get someone to scan it and then email it to me and I can put it in there then , more than one way to skin a cat. Garden Tip: Even tho your daffodils and tulips are probably done blooming. Do NOT cut the foliage back. This is how they store the ability to bloom again next spring. Wait until the foliage turns yellow and and is dying then you can cut them back. If you want something else to be planted in that bed. Before the foliage completely dies plant either marigold seeds or Zinnia seeds both only require the soil be scratched a little and spread seeds and water them in. By the time the daffs and tulips are dying back your other flowers will be coming up and it wont hurt to just leave the others leaves. The new flowers will soon have them covered. Keep them watered a fair amount while they are small but both plants are ones that like lots of sun and need only to be watered about once a week if you don't get some rain that week. I have a mammogram Wednesday morning at 7am. Oh my lord that is early .I will have to leave the house about 6. Also im having a bone density test. After the cruelty torture test. RACHAEL:: hey you want to watch it and not get dehydrated. That sure wont be good. Sounds like you might need to go back to the doctor sooner than the 26th. Hope you get to feeling better soon. How are the kids are they sick too or over it? SHERR; Yes I agree that was horrible what that person did . And we may never know really why he did it. I mean they can guess all they want but he isnt here to tell them why. And then he may not have had a reason. Some people are just monsters and there is no excuse. I don't like to think that but it is true more and more it seems. That is wonderful that the roofing company is fixing your roof now the right way. Not a lot of companys will do that. Yes there are more and more people that choose to continue to work past 65 anymore. You know what they say. 60 is the new 40 lol. Your new hair cut sounds really cute. I love mine . I have been trying to get her to cut it really short for a long time. But this time with the scraggly look on the sides I had she had no choice. Lol And I love it. I may keep it like this for awhile. At least for the summer. JANET: Oh that sounds like so much fun to be riding around with the sun roof or the top down. Oh I am getting excited about the present that Jon is making me. It sounds like lots of fun. Yes Virginia they do sell bagged manure at the feed stores or at wal mart even. Lol Can you believe that someone bagged the stuff up ad sells it. Don't you know they laugh all the way to the bank. Lol Girl Im afraid it sounds like you do need to cut your hair although I know you are afraid too really but if it is falling out like that it is going to get scraggly looking soon. Mine was so thick that my hairdresser use to say that I had enough for 3 or 4 people. She said the other day. I cant believe your hair is this thin. But like I said she said that I also have lots and lots of little hairs comeing in. Wow You were putting out fires all day for sure weren't you. That is a lot of drama for one person to handle. How in the world did your daughters boyfriend cause her to lose some funding for school.? Im glad your place wasn't on fire but I bet that was a scare to see the smoke and the fire trucks and all. So glad that they moved up your MRI. Maybe that will shed some light on the subject. BEL: congradulations on going to be a grandma soon. And hope the new daddy to be had a good birthday. I guess this is a first grandbaby? Sounds like it is. Your welcome on the tip about the roses. Did you get your new ones planted? DEBBIE M: Wow so glad to see that you are better and your friend Jake is too. What is with the hotdogs? Never heard of them for a treatment. Lol I will say along with you , Good by Aunt Hazel. Not many women such as you still alive. Sounds like she was quite the lady that wasn't afraid of acting like a man when she needed to. Your son and his girlfriend sound like they are going to make it or at least they do now. Lord yes aren't you glad that all of ours are raised and on their own now. And we don't have those worries anymore but there are always new ones to take their place lol . BRENDA: I wanted to say your new picture looks really good. You look so much younger than you did the first time I met you. Now you look like you could be your daughter.LOL. Wow you sound like you are going to be meeting yourself on that road to you house one day soon. . Yeah the pain from our joints it is a shame that the surgery didn't help them any and maybe are worse since we cant take certain med for it. LANA: How is your tummy today, any better? I know it will certainly tell us when we do something stupid wont it. My peonies made it just fine too and so did my lilacs too. So you did order yourself one of the reblooming lilacs huh. Great. I have my order in for one too. I know what you mean about the pills . I take twice now what I did before surgery but they are all vits. So that really isn't pills to me. Oh your tomatoes haven't grown much because you haven't repotted them probably. Mine that I have that are the same age are as tall as my waist and about 2 ft wide. I hope to get them in the ground tomorrow. I just haven't been able to because of the weather. MELISSA: I have been wondering about you and praying for you too. I know you are working so hard. Has the fil had another doctors visit to see about the new problems? How is Terry doing? Is he still in pain? I know that has to be painful. So what is the next step with his foot? Or ankle isnt it? Did it storm at your house. At this writing here so far we haven't had anything. I opened up my green house and set a lot of things outside today so they can start getting use to the outside. I hope it isnt going to storm here tonight because I left all the tomato plants out. Lol ANDREW; where are you ? are you still planning on comeing up this Sunday? Havent hear anything from you in about a week. We all love both of you and miss you on the board. Hope some of you that are missing in Action will report in again. LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS JAN

Hello Missouri, Yesterday was a wierd one. Cloudy and dark but really only sprinkles all night. I hoped for a real rain. We need lots of it this time of the year. My tummy finally settled down. I am now sure it was just not chewing enough and therefore eating too fast. I think we start forgetting we have new "plumbing" and begin to unconsiously eat normally, or what was normal for us before surgery which was gulping down barely chewed huge bites. UGH!!! I don't want to do that ever again so I'm glad it makes me uncomfortable. Jan, I knew I needed to repot the tomatoes but just decided to wait, not thinking it would be this long. I'm going to work on them this weekend. They are just kind of waiting, I think. I'm ready for next Monday's Circle of Friends meeting. I love seeing everyone and I come home so re-energized and full of new ideas. Hugs and love to everyone, Lana

Good Morning all... Yes Jan...it's been hard coming back from being so sick this time. I must be getting old or something...lol I have never had a cold go so bad so fast before and the come back...well...I'm still waiting....lol Yes, Aunt Hazel was an amazing woman! I was in awe of her with some of the things she did! I wish I could made it to her funeral because I KNOW there was some awesome stories told about her life! I didn't have the money to go to CA tho. Yes, Jason and Wendy...I wish them the best! Girl, I have been writing all your little garden tips down...thank you soo much! Never would of thought about bananas around my roses...lol Who and how did they come up with some of this stuff? The frost wiped out my roses but I have bananas...lol Sherr....thank you for the way you described your back pain! For decades now I have tried to find the right words to describe my back pain when I went in to see docs for it..I could never find the right words to describe it but when you mentioned "shredding" I just cringed!! That would be it...yes mam!! Janet...are you getting steriod shots in your back? I know how that hurts girl and I feel for you! I was usually in tears by the time they were done doing mine! A word to the wise tho...watch your weight! After I got those shots is when my weight took off! I put on about 60lbs like it was nothing and it didn't go away like some people said it would! I hate to be the one telling of the ol war stories that scare people but trust me...watch your weight! I know it doesn't do it to everyone but if they ever mention shots in my back again, I will tell them where they can put that needle and it won't be in MY body! Have you asked about Toradol shots? I get them when my back goes nuts on me! I just go see my pcp and out an out ask for a shot of Toradol. It doesn't mess with your mind like narcotics do but I usually get relief for a few days and sometimes that's all I need for the back to put itself back together! The REAL GOOD thing about Toradol is you get the shot in YOUR BUTT not YOUR SPINE!! No tramatic or dramatic issues!....lol Another beautiful day...Thank you Lord!! I pray that everyone is doing good! David is home today so I will see if he is up to helping me plant my new redbuds and willow trees that I got before I go so sick! He would of planted them without me but he knows how picky I am on where they go, so he waits...lol I will also see if he will pull his truck into the backyard. I have a half grown willow that got a lot of wind/snow damage last week. That storm broke two of the biggest limps in half and they are hanging all the way down on the grown but of course their not completely busted where I can just pull them down, they have just enough bark attached to keep me from breaking them loose! UPDATE ON JAKE...He got sick yesterday afternoon but it was liguid and not very much! When I fed Gracee last night Jake looked like he wanted some so I took a chance and gave him a little dry dog food. He scarffed it down and he hasn't lost it yet so maybe we can get him back on a regular diet soon. He still isn't drinking water like he should...I'm thinking about going down and getting some syringes and forcing him a little, not sure tho....anyone got any advice there? If I do force this, it's gonna be a fight. David might want to video tape it...we could put it on UTube or AFV and make some money....lol Poor Jake...he's sitting here looking at me with those big ol sad eyes.....awww, I couldn't force him to do anything right now! I'm such a wuss!....lol You guys ever watch Rachael Ray? She has a lot of helpful hints too! I love watching her! Well, shes on so I'm outta here! Be safe everyone and have a beautiful and blessed day! Deb M

Good Morning Everyone: Here we have another beatiful day that the Lord has blessed us with. It was so weird yesterday was all cloudy and overcasted but so nice and warm out. We got a few shower's here last night but nothing bad. And I woke up this morning and the sun was peeking out. I need to get ready to mow our yard again just as soon as it dry's out enough to do it. Last night after supper DH & I watched a little tv. Mostly CNN on the shooting in VA. God bless those people's hearts and that boy poor family. My heart just goes out to them. Anyways last week I rented a couple of movies. And a couple of them for some reason didnt want to work on our DVD player. So last night I brought in the laptop into the living room and set it up there to watch them. We had the door open and the lights off. I told Terry tthat it kind of felt like we was at the drive inn. We have a Drive Inn here localy that opens every spring and stays open until just before school starts. Every Fri, Sat & Sun the show 2 new movies for 5.00 for adults, 3.00 for children, and kids in carseat are free. They have the playground up front like the old ones use to have. And people come from miles and miles around to go to this drive inn. I love going we pack snacks and a cooler for drinks, throw in our lawn chairs. I have seen people with recliners in the back of their trucks. Everyone gets out and set up before the movie starts, kids are running aorund the play grounds, people are throwing freesbies or footballs. It just really takes me back in time. I cant wait until it warms up a bit so Terry can go so he dont freeze with his leg. Well Dad actually got up this morning and asked for coffee, tomato juice, and cereal. YEA!!!!!! We will see how the day turns out. Dad slept thro the night but the couple of times he did get up I didnt think he was going to make it back to his room. He almost fell 2x. Thank goodness that he didnt cause I was right behind him makening sure he didnt fall bakwards. Got a phone call from my Mother this morning. My cousins husband is in the hospital. He was visiting his children for a couple of weeks and had a stroke. Now he is in the hospital for awhile. Please keep him in our prayers. Thursday Terry & I will be in Springfield. Terry goes to the doctor and gets his soft cast removed and a hard cast put on. And I believe at that time they will remove the staples or stiches in his hip. Dont know whats under the dressing we were told not to remove it. So we will find out tommorow. One of my g-friends is going to come over and sit with Dad in case he needs anything until we get back. I pray everyone has a great day. And that you take a moment to tell someone you havent told in awhile that you love them. Cause unfortunatley here in this country you just never know if you have tommorow!!!! God Bless Mel ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This one is for everyone who .. a) has kids, b) had kids, c) was a kid, d) knows a kid e) is going to have kids. I was packing for my business trip and my three year old daughter was having a wonderful time playing on the bed. At one point she said, "Daddy, look at this," and stuck out two of her fingers. Trying to keep her entertained, I reached out and stuck her tiny fingers in my mouth and said, "Daddy's gonna eat your fingers," pretending to eat them. Went back to packing, looked up again and my daughter was standing on the bed staring at her fingers with a devastated look on her face. I said, "What's wrong, honey?" She replied, "What happened to my booger?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Dear Jan and OH Family~ Sun is shining again-3 days in a row-WOO HOO...It did get cloudy and yucky here around dinner time, but it just sprinkled on and off and thats it!! The sun is shining again and it feels nice. Cracked a window already this morning. Jan-when you started out your post with the hummers are back-I chuckled to myself because just last summer when we were having our annual pool party/BBQ I was talking about hummers-and everyone there got so quiet-and then all the sudden they all started to laugh at me (Sherr, I think you will remember me telling you about this) well-seems like in the language of MEN, hummers mean something TOTALLY different than to women-and I had NEVER heard the expression before-and was the ONLY one there that had never heard it-If I wasnt such a character, I guess it would have embaressed me-Instead-I told them ALL how stupid it was to have it mean that!! (defended my nieve self to the end~) Okay-with your gardening tips-I am learning something every single day-I swear I didnt even know you should cut back the foilage on tulips or any of that....they just die and I take em out when they gone and laying there-thats it. Gosh, no wonder I cant keep anything alive-LOL...I was also thinking about the bagged poop and WHY I CANT come up with something like that and make millions~geez!! I mean, did someone just say one day-I think I am gonna bag up that cow crap and sell it to some one for their soil? Where does this stuff come from? LOL!! Think it would be easier to buy a couple of cows and not rake it up and let them fertilize it-then butcher the cows for food--and have my land all nice and pretty.....Yep-thinking of doing that-LOL LOL....I already have 2 dogs that eat us out of house and home-cant imagine something else to feed around here. Have told ALL my kids-IF it requires oxygen or food to stay alive-DO NOT ASK FOR IT-CAUSE THE ANSWER IS NO.... I got some things done at the house-but not the repotting of Jons plants. My list is huge today of things to get done-and I Must get them all done TODAY-hurting or not, its not an option-so....wish me luck. Yesterday he was very needy and I really couldnt get much done....Tried ALL day long to get my taxes done-but it literally took me 6 hours just to do one freaking schedule-seems like ANY time I sat down.....he knew it and wanted or needed something. Holy cow. I went and printed off some of the extras I needed at Mels since my printer/scanner is out of ink-and so I was at a stand still until I got those to finish.YAY-got em done and they were outta here- Jan-do you (or any of you other gardners on here) grow strawberries? I am asking because they use to have a strawberry patch out here on the north side of my house-but its pretty well gone now because the animals (bunnies and deer etc) wouldnt stay out of them-so I would need to plant them in planters and hang them-is that possible? I saw one of our home and garden place has the strawberry plants on sale and thought about getting some-but need to know what I am in for-if its too time consuming or if I wont be able to keep the birds etc out of them-better not get them. We have 6 feeders out here-and we have those blue buntings (they are the most vibrant and beautiful blue I have ever seen....I so wish I could catch one just to look at that color and get it matched) We have a ton of cardinal couples here too-and we feed them all. I love them-they were my grandmas favorite bird-and so I always feel like she is with me while I am ou****ching them. That is such a calm, peaceful feeling. Oh-and before I forget-we have apple, cherry and pear trees out here-the birds, insects and animals are constantly into them-IS there something SAFE I can spray on those that wont make us sick when we pick them to eat them? Jan-to answer you about my daughters fiance-my ex husband works where they offer 80% scholarships to people who they consider a needy basis....he sent in the paperwork showing I went on disability and he makes very little etc-and since we have 3 dependents at home, it wiped out Mikes income (we dont get child support from my step sons mother at all-and never have....and my ex doesnt pay unless the state garnishes his checks and usually he leaves before they can even get the money) so anyway-they approved her for 80% of ALL books, tuition AND dorm AND food!! Well, it was a little over 8000.00. Everyone had already signed off on the scholarship and ALL she had to do was bring him a copy of her high school transcript and it had to have the official seal on it.....Well, he told her that he HAD to have it by 10 pm so it could be signed by his supervisor and faxed to the main office BEFORE his supervisor left-as it HAD to get to the main office by Monday-which was the deadline (and she knew this last week) so she talked to him at 3:30 and said she would bring it up to his work. He called her cell phone at 8:15 pm to see where she was-and Aaron answered the phone and told my ex that Megan was sleeping. He asked Aaron to wake her up because it was important and he said no-and my ex LOST IT....he even left work...he was going over to their house-but he didnt know where they lived. Thats when he started calling me-but due to the fact that I THOUGHT my house was on fire and burning down.....I didnt even answer my phone! SO-the paperwork never made it in-and I have chewed BOTH of them up one side and down the other for not being responsible-and Aaron CLAIMS that Eric never told him it was important-but Eric DID say I guess I should just shred the f'ing paperwork then-HELLLLLOOOOO... wouldnt that trigger something in your head? I told him I felt that he was purposely trying to sabatoge her schooling AND that IF that had been MY fiance-he would have offered to bring the paperwork in for me if I was sick (which she was-but for that kind of money-take it in the ambulance IF you HAVE to!!) Asked if HE was going to make sure that money was replaced? Of course not-he doesnt have that kind of money. We went ahead and sent it out yesterday just to see if they would take mercy....Lets keep our fingers crossed-because IF she gets it-she will HAVE to live ON CAMPUS since she wont be married yet (its an ALL GIRLS school) and so IF she lives on campus in the dorms-HE cannot live with her- (doing my famous baby circle dance)....I can honestly say that I havent been THAT MAD since I was married to my ex-LOL LOL...think it kinda scared Mike to see me like that-cause I lost it and he even took the car keys and my purse away cause I was going over there to kick someones *ss..... Havent even been able to talk to my mom about her ideas of moving in here yet. MAN I just dont think I can do that again. It was really stressful on my marriage, my household and all. She knows this-but yet, I think she has it in her head that I cant leave her homeless-I just know when she was here for 3 months last summer that Mike and I were always snapping at one another and we never fight or argue-NEVER. I dont think its fair. I know this goes back to letting them worry about themselves-and TRUST ME-I AGREE....but I guess since I have been little, they play the guilt card with me-and Yet-I get pissed off because ALL Of my life-I have been MORE responsible than BOTH of my parents put together. So-I struggle with being a good person and doing the right thing.....but then....I struggle because its not whats best for me and my family-I am just torn and dont know what to do. Thought the housing issue was solved-BUT...she didnt keep up her end of the bargain AND CANNOT live alone working just 16 hrs a week-and afford a house with all the utility bills etc-and yet, doesnt have the life in her to change it.. She suffers really bad depression-ever since I was growing up and no amount or kinds of pills helps her with it-even in combinations-and when I am around her for any length of time, I feel dragged down, but I just do not know how to help her anymore-if she wont help herself..... ~~~Let me know how much I owe all of you for my daily therapy sessions-LOL LOL~~ *Deb-I have had 5 of those shots-but they didnt put them in my rear-they shot me right into the mass in my upper back?-dont ask me-I have just experienced this back pain and issues since the middle of Feb and know nothing!! I am just doing right now what my ortho surgeon (whom I LOVE and TRUST with all my heart) is having me do. With the steroid epidurals-a day after-I was STARVING, seems like ALL DAY...BUT-I snacked on my peanut butter protein balls ALL day-I ate a salad for dinner etc-and I lost 2#, then 3#, then 1#-now I am back to normal as far as hunger, but it DID freak me out to be hungry all day long for 3 days!!! Yes-girl-they hurt like NOTHIN I have ever experienced before! I only felt the first 2 anesthesia shots-but that was enough to make me want to jump out the window to get away from her. You gotta be still and bend over that table-WOWZA....I guess IF the narcotics worked 100% I wouldnt mind being on them...been there, done that, weened off them to have my WLS, but they arent even really working right now-so I hope the next epidural next week will produce some relief. WIll see. Wheres your new pic? Oh-and I wanted to give you a tip for Jake-my vet had me give my dog Pedialyte when he got really sick. I bought the generic stuff from Walmart and he did drink it up like it was a treat! Try it-it may work, anything is worth a shot-and it wont hurt the dog at all. I even gave my dog popsicles-I Know-but it helped and I was willing to do anything to help him....They were sugar free-so it didnt give him more diarrhea. *Lana-so glad you are feeling better. I hate that uncomfortable feeling and I hate feeling like I am going to vomit-I have only had 2 dumping episodes that lasted a long time-once in stage 2 after surgery (on soup) and then about 6 weeks ago on a peice of sesame chicken....YUCK....so I just get sick and its over with-I feel lucky, because I hear the stories of being sick for hours or even a couple of days, but just those 2 times and sometimes my stomach does hurt the next day like I got punched or something-and Im sure its the muscles retaliating!! Well...I should get my list started-what a day I have-and I couldnt fall asleep until 3 am and I was up at 6:30....I dont feel tired like I did when I first woke up-but I sure can invision myself in a cabana on a tropical island somewhere~LOL LOL I never did hear from Carissa before her surgery. Hope we hear something soon and we have so many new losers coming to the bench-we could stretch that bench probably a mile long now, huh? Im exciting tho....Virginia and Charlotte-how cool is that they get to have their surgeries the same day? It was fun having Mel at the hospital the same time as me (well-as fun as you can have at the hospital LOL) I have 2 of my angelettes having surgery soon.....right at 2 weeks for both of them, and then I have 3 that are still waiting. *Susan T, Andrew-where are you guys? Come out and play-and talk to us-we miss ya. And anyone else I forgot. Susan-we would LOVE To see you at the meeting if you can make it girl!! Well, gonna get off here and get started. Will talk to you all soon. Love and prayers to all. Janet

Hi Jan and all others, Been gone for awile. got back sat and was exhausted so did not post. We went to Vegas for 5 days at the invitation of our youngest daughter who wanted us to join her so we could spend some special time together. she was going to a pharmaceutical convention. Our room was paid and we just had to pay airfare. It was lots of fun, but glad to be back to the quiet country life and work again. Rented a scooter for my hubby to get around. we had fun and got to go to a dinner theatre also. Glad everyone is doing fine. I too, am frustrated with not losing weight in 2 months. Regardless, it wont come off. 14 pounds from goal and it just stoped. but I will keep going on and on until it goes again. Glad everyone is doing ok. God bless everyone!! Colette
