Sedalia - June Picnic?

Is the June picnic still on? I haven't heard any mention of it lately. If it is, what park and where is it located? We will be spending the night in Sedalia on June 19th, does anyone have a suggestion for a motel/hotel that is clean and not to expensive? We have stayed at the Best Western and the "crappy" Kozy Kort Motel (I think that's the right spelling). Is there a motel 6 or something on that order that would be cheaper? Please let me know about this so I can plan accordingly. If there is no picnic we talked about making the trip all in one day and not spening the night. We have done it before and it's not fun to drive 8 to 10 hours to see Dr. H. for maybe 15 minutes!!! Thanks Everyone Love Brenda

Jan, Where is Liberty Park located? Is it close to the fairgrounds? Can I get an e-mail map from someone to show us where it is. Thanks Brenda

Hi Brenda, There is a Ramada Inn which I believe is $49 a nite. The is also a Best Western, and Comfort Inn. I have not stayed at any of them but they are all well known. You may want to pull them up on the internet to ck the prices. I think the Comfort Inn is more like $78. But don't quote me on that. Hope this helps! Charlotte

Surprise Jan... This is my very first post... but just had to pass on a bit of information on this subject, as was born and raised in Sedalia... Liberty Park is on West 3rd Street. If you are coming up from the South on 65 stay on 65 til you get to 3rd street and turn right at the light. The park is on the left side of the road just past the stadium which is on the corner of Hwy 65 and 3rd street. You keep going along side the park til you come to a curve, the entrance to the park is on that curve, you will be turning left in the middle of that little curve, so you need to slow down as soon as you see it. If you are coming from the West on Hwy 50 you turn left onto 65 Hwy and follow the instructions above, or from the east turn right onto Hwy 65 and follow the instructions above. As far as Motels ... I would recommend Comfort Inn although it is probably the most expensive... then the common consenses in the area is that Best Western and Ramada Inn would be the next best options. Ramada Inn has recently undergone some renovations but do not know much other than that. Best Western is an older faciltiy but kept in "fairly" good condition, I think. Comfort Inn 3600 West Broadway (or hwy 50) just down a bit and across the hwy from Wal-Mart 660-829-5050 Best Western 3120 South Limit (or Hwy 65) 660-826-6100 Ramada Inn 3501 West Broadway (or Hwy 50) right next to Wal-Mart 660-826-8400 I hope this information is helpful to you. bec

Hey Thanks Bec what a surprise to see you on here. I have been hoping that you would join us. And such helpful information. The reason i said the Liberty Park is that Julia said there was a rose garden in it lol. Thought we could see that too. You know me and Im all about the flowers. Brenda did you get the directions for that.? Thanks again Bec. Jan
