I am 2 and 1/2 yrs old and I am gaining weight. I have been gaining rapidly. I have gained 30 pounds. Does any one have the rules to eating and drinking water. Oh and does any one have their menu of what they wer suppose to eat right after surgery for the first 1 or 2 month? I was told that I need to go back and start over.:`(

Dear December Snow, Yes-it was all liquid, protein and then soft foods-the liquid portion consisted of broth, crystal light or propel drinks, water, of course, sf popsicles, sf jello, tea....the protein drinks-every surgeon varies-but its normally 50-90 g per day...so whatever protein powder you buy-I wouldnt go any lower than 50. My favorite, as well as a lot of others on the board is Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Instantized Whey and you can purchase that at any health food store-BUT-it is 1/2 that price at Food 4 Less or you can also get it at the grocery store price at allstarhealth.com. Cottage cheese, oatmeal, yogurt and cheese etc-were in the soft food category. Oh-and in the liquid area-we could have soup. I would jus****ch all carb, sugar, and protein in what you eat. Tuna is high protein, along with shrimp-but you probably already knew that-just throwing that out at you-so you could count that in your protein intake. I find that the more protein I get in, along with my 64 oz or more water/crystal light per day and sensible eating-the easier and faster the weight comes off-we also have a couple of awesome recipes here for protein peanut butter balls-and they usually have at least 10 g of protein PER ball-so snacking on those during the day helps with snacks AND protein intake. I wish you a lot of luck-and please keep us posted on how you are doing-WELCOME!!!! Janet
