Why am I not nervous?

I am beginning to think that I am not doing something right ! My surgery is in 2 weeks and I'm not even nervous. I'm very anxious to get it done, but no worries. It seems like I should have more questions too. I don't know, maybe I will afterwards. I'm more worried about how i'm going to pay for the motel room the night before than the actual surgery! I ordered a sample pack of protein drinks and powders from bariatriceating.com. So I think I'm set for a week or so, that will give me time to try them all out and decide which I like to order more. I am in need of new pants......lol....all my jeans are getting holes....but I don't want to buy new ones....can't wait to fit into some of the "old clothes" I outgrew in my closet! I am so excited!! I can't hardly wait! Pam

Pam, You are normal. I feel the same way. I went for my pre-op today and was so excited. I feel that the last step in done and now it is all downhill from here. Tonight was my last supper, so to speak. So a new chapter is opening and I can't wait. Nervous? No, I haven't gotten that way either. Enjoy your natural progression towards the new you, and your new beginning. Congratualtions on your journey. Charlotte

Pam, You know I never did get nervous-not even as they wheeled me into the operating room. My girlfriend said that surgery was all I talked about for almost 2 yrs. and then as soon as I got approved I quit talking about it altogether. She would have to ask me about my appointments and such. I think it was because I had researched the surgery so fully and had no doubts about my decision that I was at total peace with it. I was ready to start the other half of my life-the post op half ! I'm glad you aren't nervous. Good luck and please keep us posted. Dannielle

I never got nervous either. I think it's because we know it's what we want no matter what our life will be better when it's done. We've researched and asked all the questions long before we got to the point of the surgery. The surgery is in the hands of the surgeon and god. So why waste nervous energy. Hugs, Anna
