Hello all, I am home I had my surgery on March 28. All went well except I had some blood in my stool the day I was leaving. They were not going to let me go because my hemaglobin was lower than what it was when I cam in but still in normal range. They drew my blood again in the afternoon and it went up a number. I feel good but still a little sore. I am so glad I can sleep in my own bed. Hospital beds SUCK! I have a question. It seem I am getting a lot of fluid out of my drain. I sometimes empty it 4 times in 24 hours. It looks good it is pink with some fatty tissue in it but I don't know if I am not suppose to have all this fluid. They left me with an emergency number but I don't think this is an emergency. I don't want to bother doc on his day off. I have no fever an fell pretty good. I am walking 30-40 min a day and drinking all of my fluids. What do you think should I call? Anyway it's good to talk to you all.

My wife the nurse said that 3-4 times per day is OK, seeing as you have no fever. She did suggest to contact the doc on Monday just to be on the safe side. Good luck.

Christy....So glad you are home and doing well.....A call tomorrow to your doctor would be a safe thing to do. You could even call the nurses station at the hospital you were in and ask them about it if it increases. We will be praying for a speedy recovery.....You take care and keep us posted....God Bless....Hugs & Love....Tammy H.

Dear Christy, Welcome to the Losers bench!! I didnt have a drain with an attachment-but I would have to change my dressing several times a day and a lot of times it was pink and yucky looking....I was told that as long as something I drank didnt come through the site-it was normal to have to change dressings that often....Are you drinking/eating anything colored like green/orange jello or such where it would make it colored? My girlfriend, Sherr had the drain with the container- and it would be pink looking liquidy. Hope this helps-let us know what you find out and we will keep lifting you in prayer for a speedy recovery. Love, Janet
