WHATS HAPPENING SATURDAY

Well March came in like a Lion now lets see what today is. It is suppose to go out like a Lamb since it was some pretty rough weather on the 1st.of March. Lol I wonder how that one got started? Anyone know? That is like the groundhog day. From the day that is groundhog day to the first day of spring is 6 weeks exactly so it is always 6 more weeks of winter no matter what the groundhog says. Lol I just find it interesting from where a lot of the old sayings and stuff came from. Was it old Pagan rituals of some sort or folk lore or what? Joe and I went yesterday over to Melissas and bought her ponds from her.I really got a bargain and she got some money and got rid of them out of her garage lol So we both feel good. Thanks Melissa. Sorry Janet for missing you , My hubby got in a hurry to get home. He wanted to go Mushroom hunting lol Of course he didn't find any. Anyway I am really anxious to get the ponds set up and to figure out how im going to connect all of them together someway. I am going to put some pictures on my profile of my tulips they are so pretty . If you want to see them. I took it from out at the front with the redbud trees and dogwood and my house showing too. We finally got some rain out of some of this that everyone has been getting. About an inch this evening. And looks like we may be back to more normal spring time temps this next week. Just hope it doesn't get colder than normal. If Sunday you don't see a Whats Happening Post just go ahead and post on the Saturday post if you want and I will pick it up again on Monday. Ok? We may go out of town Saturday evening. But will be back Sunday night. Not real sure yet. Sherr: Didn't your Dad just have knee surgery? Is he not doing well with it? How long ago was it? I would think he should have graduated to just a cane by now but I may be really messed up on my timing. Im sorry that they both are using walkers. That has to make it rough on them. Really sorry about your fur-babies. We will continue to pray for your parents and your babies. Yeah I wonder if we will always have some foods making us sick? Was it the food or did you not chew well enough. Most of the time when I get sick it is because I was silly and didn't chew or took too big of a bite rather than the food. I still cant tolerate dence protein tho. Like meat. Hope you will remember to take care of yourself sweetie. Maybe one day you will find someone that wants to "take care of you because you are fragile" Janet: be sure and take those pain meds with a bite of something , anything even if just a cracker. What sort of pain meds did he give you and do they work? Great news about your daughter. This is the one that is getting married this summer huh? LOL had to laugh that you are finally down to the weight that is on your drivers lic. Lol Wonder how many of us women have done that. Made me get mine out to see what I had listed on there. Hey I weight less than I have listed on mine now. Never thought I would see that day again. Yea!!!!!! Tammy:Im so glad that your sister and family made it to their new home. And that is wonderful that you had a good lunch with your old friend. Thanks for praying for my sister. Please continue to pray that the potassium levels come up and she will get to come home. Andrew: Hey there fellow. All your plans for your yard and garden sound really great. Your essay has to persuade someone to react how to it? Accept it or what? Sounds interesting. Your garden sounds like a good place to stop for fresh veggies this summer. Would love to see the before and after pictures that you have taken and will take. I always do that too. Makes a good reference for later to me. Did you take lots of orders for the Angel food network today? Oh I was going to tell you that some of the places that you can get flowers and stuff really cheap , the things will be very small and takes a lot of care to get them any size. But it can be done. Just wanted you to know that it may take more care . I have bought from the House of Wesley but most of the time I buy from Parks or Gurneys. Or Brecks. Not to say there aren't others just as good tho. I just have used them for awhile and I know that if one of the plants doesn't live all I have to do is email them and they will send out a replacement. And it is usually in better shape and bigger than the original one lol Congradulations on losing more weight. I lose 3 go back up 2 stay a while then lose three more and go back 1 or 2 again. Just back and forth. Will take a long time to lose the last 23 pounds that way lol Oh that will be great if you come up on the 22nd we can play in the garden or go fish or something that way. Some of my flowers should be blooming by them. I saw a bud on one of my iris today, can you believe that? Weird year. Melissa : thanks again for the ponds we will get them in the ground soon. I have to see what kind of arrangement I can sit up and will need to go get more hose and a new extension cord. To plug it in. Im glad that your fil , hopefully will be getting better. Lets hope anyway. I think we need to write to the Citracal company and ask them why that we cant find any flavor but the chocolate. I like the chocolate but then I like all the flavors. Sure taste like candy don't they. Hey be careful about trying o swallow a pill that is too big. It could choke you in a hurry. I don't seem to have that problem. I can swallow 2 to 3 pills at one time. Now this is what doesn't make sense . I can do that with pills but cant swallow one bite of food that is about the size of 1 pill without getting sick lol Now does that make sense???? Loved all your idiot sightings. Lol lol lol Julia: So good to see you back posting again. Yeah you don't have long now till surgery. Has seemed like a long time waiting hasn't it and then hasn't seemed that long too. I guess moving and keeping busy has helped pass the time. Im glad your granddaughter is going to be your angel. Tell her to post really quick for us so we can see that you are doing ok. OK? You know we all will be praying for you on Monday. And will be waiting to hear from your granddaughter. Trudy: Thank God that your daughter has you and your husband to rely on. I rescued my youngest daughter about 10 times during her 17 year 11 year marriage to an alcoholic, verbally and physically abusive husband. She would keep going back to him. Would about break my heart that she kept going bac****il she had 2 young boys to think of. He threw her down, kicked her in the head and body about 15 times before he was satisfied that time and that was the last time finally. At least you don't have to see her beat to a pulp like I did over and over. It is a scary situation to watch your daughters go thru that stuff. We will be praying for her that she wont go back to him this time. God doesn't want people to stay in a situation like that. Ever. Sugar is better and is eating and walking now. But as of this morning was still low on Potassium. I hope they have got her stabilized now. I will call again in the morning and see. Take it easy everyone and like I said if there is no post from me on Sunday just go ahead and post on the Saturday one and I will pick it all up again on Monday morning. Good Morning Guys & Gals... Hope all you western Mo people are doing ok in all the storms that's been coming thru your way. From the way it's been showing on my news it looks like yall have gotten sevearl hard storms. Down here in the bootheel we have not gotten much other than a bit of rain a few days ago. But we might get a strom or two tomorrow. I got to talk to my lil neice today....they took her to see the ocean for her first time today...she had to tell me all about the seaguls she seen....I love how 2yr olds talk lol lol....They got her some chips to feed the birds and she couldn't feed them fast enough so they were coming to her to get the chips...she was talking 90 miles an hour telling me how those bwerds was eaten her fingders lol lol lol......She liked the water but it woldn't be still...it kept rolling up on her feet....my sister said she kept yelling make it be still lol lol.......They sent me a pic of her on the beach feeding the seaguls on my cell phone....You could tell she was having a ball.... Well it's good to see all the new people hitting the board lately. And it seems like there is several surgeries coming up real soon. I love that I was guided to this board and hope everone in Mo is told about it as well. It is great to have somewhere to go for advice, guideance and comfort. I see there is a few as anxious as I am lol lol....I'm glad I'm not the only one going crazy with anxiousness lol lol......Only 4 more days till my next appt and I can't wait. I'm praying they will make me appts to do the last bit of stuff I need to do so the next appt I will hopefully get a date!!! Today was a crappy day for my diet lol lol.....It's something how some days the determination is so strong nothing can break you and then other days you have no will power at all......This morning I was chatting with my mom on the computer and all the sudden I started smelling bacon.....I told her one of my neighbors must be cooking bacon cause I can sure smell it.....Then a little later it smelled like it was right her by me!!!! I told her the dang devil must be visiting me today cause I don't even eat breakfast and hadn't cooked bacon in good while and I could smell it as stong as if it was on a plate right in front of me.....Well I didn't eat no bacon but he must have hung around most of the day cause I sure didn't do spiffy on my diet!!!!! But that's ok.. Tomorrows a whole new day and I'm going to get right back on track and kick his butt out of my house!!!!! Please tell me it's a little easier after you have had your surgery!!! Mel didn't you tell me it was a little different with the sleeve and having it done helped out with that sort of thing? I sure hope so....I want badly to do good at this and shed this other person I carry around all the time... Good Morning Jan and OH Family, Jan-before I forget to post this-I did throw out the suggestions on the sites for people to check out for the reunion-I had 6 total-only got a couple of opinions on there....But a lot of people had so much other things going on at the time...well, then last week, Susan T sent me a list of sites in central missouri that she knew of and thought would be good places to check-so I am doing that right now....There was 7 or 8...and I am sorry, between Mels Emergency room visit on Mon, Dr. on Tues, my back and my appt I havent had as much time as I would like. A lot of places dont open up until April 1st anyway-so we are good. Figured it would end up being in August sometime (off season) so that way everyone had time to plan, get money saved up and werent on vacations and such....So, I promise-I AM still working on it!!! I was bummed out that I missed ya yesterday. Was so excited about you meeting my little man...But, hubby may go with me in April-and him and the kids can cruise over to Bass Pro shops while I have my meeting, and then just pick me up when the meeting is over. Im so glad someone got those ponds that will utilize them and make them beautiful-as I am sure you will. I call you the fantastic flower lady-and thats who I told Jon we were going to meet yesterday. He loves flowers and planting and such-and everything HE plants-grows beautifully, me-not so much-but I AM trying!! I was going to ask you-IF I go get some lilac bushes-do they take pretty well? Where should I plant them? The huge purple one I had at my old place for 16 years-I had it on the north side-and it was pretty well shaded until late afternoon-due to the house and carport....but where I live now-I couldnt plant it close to the garage or house...Oh, I forgot to tell you that my trees are blooming!! The pear tree reminds me of a pink dogwood-and is gorgeous and then the cherry trees have white flowers and are equally as beautiful. My tulips didnt bloom this year-didnt figure they wood. My kids want to do a little vegetable garden this year. We sure have the land for it-but its very rocky etc....we have access to a tiller-so we may just put a little one out. Love fresh veggies-although I have gotten sick off of ALL vegetables I have tried cooked. I kept cauliflower down once, but it was only two teeny weeny bites. I miss my brussel sprouts-asparagus....I dont know..I sure love them and miss them. I am going to try them raw and see what happens!!! Jan-Dr gave me percocet (had my choice between vicodin or percocet) for pain. I picked the percocet because my thought was cutting them in half-I could make them last twice as long!!! They still have me on the flexiril, but I only took 1/2 one yesterday because I was afraid of how that would affect me...I learned the hard way to take it with some crackers!! That was the most awful tummy ache I have had in a LONG time! They hadnt worked the day of the appt (except made me looney-but whats new LOL) but they seem to be working now. My problem is that the upper back pain is coming back on and off-and not sure what that means. I dont know. Anyhow-so far today, everything hurts-but its the weather and my arthritis kicking up! You would think that since I have had this since I was 4 I would get used to it-but its a pain you just cant just ignore and keep going!! I am anxiously waiting for the epidurals- Jan-you get epidurals in your back, dont you? Or was it your shoulder? If you get them in your back-do they help you? I hope so. Yes, its my daughter that is getting married this summer that is moving to Columbia. They are already looking for a place to live. They may be moving in June-WOW....Not sure if I am ready for that. It sure is going to be an adjustment since she has always lived within 20 minutes of me and she is like Jons 2nd mom and he sure loves spending time with her-so this is going to be hard on so many levels-but at least when I go for my next 2 appts in Columbia- I will have a place to stay-YEAH!! I will take the money I would have spent on motels or whatever-and probably go get them food or something.... I am soooo glad that Sugar is feeling better. I am going to email you later today. I bought her a card yesterday and I want to send it to her home address. Andrew....Is there anywhere you have your essay saved in the computer so you could send it to us in an email or post it on the board? I would LOVE to read it...You sound like you really like your classes-I think you will be wonderful in this field. I am so glad to hear your BIL is doing better now too! You are such a wonderful and caring person!! Tammy-Honey, everyone has those bad days-what is funny is that Mel was thinking about you ALL day yesterday-you were on her heart...and lets just say-she really doesnt get those hunger issues cause of the part of her stomach they removed BUT if something smells good-it smells good-ya know? She was talking to me the other day and walked through Walmart and they have a subway there-and they were making garlic bread and she was like - OHHHHH...it SMELLS SO GOOD...so that part I dont think, will ever go away!! Sherr-please let us know how it went at the vets...did you get the boys in yet to be checked out? Hope its simple stuff girl, and that you are ok. Have been thinking about you a lot lately. Take care!! Well, I am going to wrap this up and finish breakfast for hubby and little guy. Its rainy and stormy here. We were suppose to go to an Easter Egg hunt at the bank today, but I dont think the weather is going to cooperate!! Also, my lawn really needs to be cut and trimmed-but hopefully can get to it tomorrow morning! Having company tomorrow-going to bbq and play with the RC cars etc. Well, I am going to close for now. Good morning Jan Just wanted to pop in and say "HELLO" as you know I found a part-time job and being up in age and not having worked awhile it has been kind of rough on the old girl but somehow I've managed to get through the training part and will see what lies ahead. I'm doing good but it still looks like I'm not losing weight as well as I thought I would but everyone says "you sure have lost a lot of weight." I haven't been getting a chance to even LURK around here I did read this morning about your sister and pray things are better for her. Oh yeah, because of this new job I had to change my date to see Dr. Hornbostel so I won't be there on June 19th I had to change for a later date and time to soften up my new supervisor . This is a contract job and the contract says I have to be there on the days I am needed at work so it is a Monday- Friday job, this past week it was 3-1130p, this week coming up will be 8-5 hope we settle for a 7-430 shift soon. Well Jan I hadn't forgotten about you, but my brain hasn't had so much exercise in a long time , and I'm still planning on getting my book finished somehow! Momma J & Co: Well, my patio sale today was a total flop, only made $17 weather was atrociatious (sp?) winds were hurricane strength. I dropped a 500 pound rack on my foot, and the way it landed ripped my favorite pair of flip flops BOY AM I MAD :D LOL Dad had surgery 6 weeks ago, on one knee, but never took time off it...(men are nerds) he was back working on signing up a new tenant (radio shack) the NEXT day!! after his surgery. He won't use a cane, in public, so by the time he hobbles home after working, he is only able to move via walker....neither parents will "allow" themselves to be seen in public with the aid of a can, crutches, walker, or their motorized wheelchair....so Mom just doesn't go out, and Dad "Fakes it" LOL Parents, can't make em mind, I tell ya!! So, not only did my sale flop, my contract can in the front door, when I was out back fighting hurricane winds, and began blowing that fine dust type insulation in the attic...the DUST IS EVERYWHERE, AND I HAVE WHITE/IVORY EVERYTHING AND BAD LUNGS.... By the time I came in the house, and heard the noise of the blower he'd blown 26 bags of the stuff and made a baaad mess outta my living room GOOD LORD... Thankfully I'd taken the pups to mom's so they wouldn't get upset with hearing other people in the back yard. OKAY, PUPPY UPDATE: Lucais has a severe tonsilitus infection, and is on meds, Bailey (cancer puppy) Vet thinks his new growth is only a fatty growth, and I am to watch it, for changes. It's a growth UNDER the skin that feels like a milk choc. M&M. So, whewwwww...they both should be okay....just gotta keep my eye on them. EATING ISSUES: Sometimes I am just an idiot...I get in a hurry, and gulp down a couple bites, forgetting I CAN'T DO THAT ANYMORE.... I can't seem to eat Beef at all, any kind, PERIOD...and I can eat grilled chicken, if it's hot off the grill and juicy, about 4 bites max, and NOT if it's gotten cold, and dried out...that won't work. But, I am now 14 pounds from goal WOOT WOOT...Silver Lining City, right? LOL WEATHER IS FRIGHTFUL: By Wed. here, (& for 3 nights after) we are supposed to be in THE FREAKIN TEENS TEMP WISE...WHAT THE HELL IS THAT ABOUT???? GOOD LORD...If I don't get sick breathing this crap the contractor sprayed all around, I definitely will when it's 12 degrees outside this coming week...LOL I do want someone that will take care of my fragile butt, anyone know anyone good?
