Hello Everyone,
I must explain how im feeling yesterday i had gotten myself in a frenzy worrying about the surgery needless to say Feb 15 i had screws taken out of my ankle and that was of course surgery 10 months before that i had a acl replacement and a broken fibula so of couse that was surgery as well as the road has been ruff do to the fact i had not been able to walk as i could before the surgery! now i am truly uneasy because i know that this is MAJOR surgery. and im looking forward to losing the weight but really not enthused at all about pain lol so much that yesterday i called aetna and asked them would it be hard to change the procedure to the lap-band only because the recovery time is shorter they said it would be no problem only that Depaul would have to call and change the codes no biggie...
Well--- i did not call Depaul because i knew i could not be going backwards and forwards with them and im already scheduled for may2nd am i going crazy are what why am i going through all these emotions...KRISSY
Dear Krissy,
Honey-It is SO NORMAL to worry-truly it is-but even lap banders experience some pain in their procedures....that being said-once your done-your done. You will NOT have to go for fills and all of that either! I am not going to lie and tell you that when you come out of surgery you wont be hurting-BUT, you will have pain meds-and the quicker you get up and around-the faster you heal-and its only a couple of hours worth of pain....IT WILL BE OKAY...this board is full of prayer warriors-and we are already praying for you...so honey-you will be fine....and when your feeling scared or worried-WE, this WHOLE BOARD, will be your wings-Love you sister!!! Please take care and you can email me directly to [email protected] if you want my phone number-I have cingular and we can talk ok? Do you have cingular? Alright honey, I have to go to town and run some errands. Love you and I will pray for you to have peace of mind-please dont let the devil have a field day with your decision!!! Talk to you soon.....Love, Janet
Krissy,
We are here for you when you are afraid. You'll be fine. As far as recover, lap and rny both have about the same number of tiny incisions so that really isn't a factor. You have made your decision and you need to feel good about it. In a few weeks you'll wonder what you were so worried about.
Hugs and love and keep on track.
Lana
Krissy yes it is normal to worry, but give it all to Jesus and let him do the worring.
The emotions will make you think you are crazy. I went back and forth for a while about lap band or RNY untill i finally settled on rny only because i didnt want to keep going back and forth for fills.
Like most said the pain factor is about the same and as far as being up and about. Some are and some arent.
I was up pulling weeds in my garden 5 days after surgery. and i have known some lapbanders that were still in pain at that stage so you never know . some are and some arent but it can be controled. and the rewards are so worth it. I have gone from size 22s to 10s in 7 1/2 months. Jan
