WHATS HAPPENING-----THURSDAY

This week seems to be flying by .Thursday already. Just two more days in this month. Can you believe that. I have already had to have my sprinkles on . My lilies flower beds were getting a little too dry and I was also checking out my soaker hoses to see where to lay them out at to get the maxium amount of coverage. I need some new soaker hoses too. They make watering so much easier and is better on the flowers too. And with the quick connects on the hoses it makes it so much easier. Joe and I just about have all of the front area cleaned and smoothed out. We today need to plant some Canadian Hemlocks that I got as a free gift from one of the catalogs that I order from. They are suppose to be fast growers and will give us some more year round green and make good cover for the birds one day. Went to Dr. Office today to have all the big big long list of lab work to be drawn. I want everything all my vits and everything checked. I go back to my doctor on Monday to see the results. I am axious to see that all the pill taking and stuff does some good. I will post later this morning anew about Sugar. I wont call her until about 9am. So I can see if she is doing any better. Thanks to all that sent her messages on the hospital card line. That is neat for them to have that. I hope they deliver the messages. It will make her feel so much better to know that we are all praying for her. Scott: thanks for thinking about and praying for my sister. She is always on the go normally so just the fact that she couldn't do anything was really bad for her. When she gets out this time and is in good health she will be on fire lol Melissa: thanks for finding that web site for the hospital in St. Louis. I hope a lot of people have used it and they think that they have a celebrity on there hands with all the fan mail lol Lana: Thanks for the continued prayers for Sugar I know she appreciates it from all of you. You and your honey going to Kansas City , Kansas City here she come. They got some crazy little women there and Lana she is one. Lol Tammy: I know how you feel about your sister. It is hard to be separated from them. I don't know how long Sugar has to be in the hospital and I don't think any of them know right now. She said her doc said for a few days. I think he will keep her till he knows for sure she is good and healthy now. And is eating and bowels moving etc. They have to be so careful most times about law suites. Janet : what time is your appointment today? Please let us know what he says ok? I wish we could get some of your rain. We have had only minutes amount while some of you have been being flooded. Yeah the flexiril will make you tired until you get used to it that is the reason I start with a small dose and build up . Im now up to ½ tab 3 times a day. She wanted me to take it 1 to 2 tabs 3 times a day and I told her I would be out like a light and would never be able to take the second dose .lol. NO BAKE COOKIES: Boil together for 3 minutes ½ cup splenda Brown sugar 1 ½ cup of Splenda 1stick butter 3T. cocoa Remove from heat ADD: ½ cup Peanut Butter 1 t. Vanilla 3 cups of old fashioned oats add one cup at a time and stir all together. Drop by Tablespoons full onto wax paper and let cool. Yeah im wondering why the extremely cold winter didn't kill all the ticks and all. It should have. Debbie M: hey I wanted to keep you busy for awhile with your planting and building flower beds lol Glad you enjoyed looking at them and planning where to put them. That is fun to do that . When you look them up be sure and note whether sun or shade. And some of them spread a lot so take that into account when you plant them. I see where you got surprised about being a grandma again from your youngest son. Was that a shocker? But congratulations Tami: Sounds like your daughter is a pretty tough little girl Sorry about the fracture to her wrist yeah maybe you should just have her x-rayed when she gets hurt a little Maybe her bones are soft or something. I hope not tho. We will say a prayer for her about that. Thanks for reminding me about Lisa I need to call her tomorrow and see how she is doing. Hope everyone is going to have a good day today. And lets hope that Janet gets a good report and that Tami little girls bones are ok. Will give you all a report on Sugar later on this morning. We have a guy coming to our house tomorrow to hopefully help us get a new toilet sat in the guest house. It has one of those tiny little ones in there now that you feel like you are sitting on a childs potty. We bought a new one that is taller , they are so much more comfortable. Love you Guys!! Good Morning Jan and OH Peeps~ Jan, with all thats on your mind-thanks for thinking of me and my appt. Its at 10:30 I believe....its either that or 10, will call them when they open to confirm-Im pretty ditzy this week, so cant remember and cant find the sheet of paper I wrote it on (surprise, surprise) Yesterday-WHAT A DAY...I cant believe how bad I was hurting!! Not sure if it was the weather changing or what-but told my hubby that if I werent going to the surgeon today I would have gone to the E/R.....(I dont do that for ANYTHING-LOL!!) So, I am anxious to get this over with, and nervous at the same time! Thanks to everyone who is praying for me!!! I went and picked up my x-rays and reports to take to the ortho today. I am kind of excited because his office staff and him have been sorta like family to us.....he has been my dr for 8 yrs and my hubbys for over 13 and he says we are his favorite pts. They have not seen me since surgery. I saw them in November, the week before I had surgery when my hubby had to be seen for his knee. So-that was at 44# weight loss-and as of this morning-I have lost 123#!!!! My oldest daughter came and got Jon yesterday and took him to Chuck E Cheese-he adores her so much. When she brought him home-he walked up to me and asked if he could PA-LEEEZE spend the night at her house-cause he loves her soooo much! He hadnt even asked her yet-LOL....so he went off to Megans for the night, and I wont see him now until this afternoon! The flowers that he and I planted over the weekend are sprouting already-if I had planted them on my own-they wouldnt grow-LOL!! Jan-I tried to send Sug a card-but not sure if it went through. Somethings going on with my puter I think-I will get in there again today and please let her know that I am thinking of her. (we are ALL thinking of her and love her) The other day I went to post and it said it was saved-but it never showed up-and I checked a couple of hours later too-so I dont know whats going on! Thanks for the recipe...I do appreciate that and may make up a batch this weekend. I have so much to do this weekend and I hope the weather cooperates with us!! I also want to shampoo my carpets this weekend. Its long overdue. Deb-I dont know if thats what my PCP called the cyst on my back....its gotten bigger the more weight I lose though, and he did say it needed to be surgically removed. I will know more today after my appt with my ortho surgeon....and than I will get on and post-but I do appreciate you guys sharing your experiences with me, because it brings me such comfort!! Congrats on your news, honey! I will praying for them, and for you, that you get a healthy bundle of joy!! Tami-sounds like your daughter is like my youngest son...we didnt even know when he broke his collar bone, cause he didnt cry unless you touched him right there-and he had broken it in 2 places and had to go to a specialist because of the rare way he broke it they were worried it wouldnt grow together again like it was suppose to!! I will keep her in my prayers....Are you related to Evil Kneivel at all? LOL.... Tammy Ammy-how are you doing today? I hope you are okay. Good Morning Guys and Gals... Hope everyone is doing good today!!!!! It is a lot prettier morning here today than it was yesterday. I have my front door open when the window up on the screen door and I can here all kinds of birds out this morning. Really sounds pretty. Today I get to go have lunch with my best friend. We only live 45 minits from each other but it seems we never get time to visit. We get to chat on the computer here and there and talk on the phone some but that's just not the same as a face to face visit. So we decided we would meet for lunch and just set and visit for awhile. I have lots of friends but Chell and I have been friends since second grade. That's like 34 years and we have never had an argument!!!!! Now days alot of marriages don't even make it that long...Soo we are very proud of our friendship !!!! She even named her daughter after my baby doll I had when we were younger lol lol.....I can still remember the day she called me from the hospital and ask me if I cared. lol lol....She said she had racked her brain trying to come up with something she liked and the only thing that kept coming to mind was me and my baby doll lol lol lol.....Of course I said YES....So she named her daughter .......Tosha Nichole. Tosh hates to hear us talk about it lol lol.....She thinks we are nuts...well mostly her mother for naming her after a stupid doll..... Janet...I will be praying for you today that you get news on hopefully getting some relief from all the pain you been having in your back. How is DH's hand doing? Is Jon going to have a scar from his the accident he had? When I get back from town later I will be checking in to see if you have posted on the news you got from the doctor. Mel....How did the appt go with your f-i-l yesterday? Or did he go ahead and go? I hope things went well and yall got news on how to help him. Rachel... Please drop in and let us know how your cousin Paula is doing from surgery. We will praying things go well for her. Lana.....I know what your daughter is going thru with the wheel chair.....When I was sixteen I had to be in a wheel chair for 6mo due to an injury I got to my knee. They did not want any weight on it at all and wouldn't even let me use crutches. I had to learn to get around in that thing and we lived in a tiny house. And on top of that learn how to manage at school. They decided I could change classes 5 min earlier than everyone else so I could manage in the hall way. I even had to have someone assist me going to the bathroom lol lol.... Then about 5 years ago my mom got down in her knees and couldn't get around on her own for long at a time so we had to start using a wheel chair. I think that is where I got my hernia from. She is a heavy woman so she had to have a bigger wheel chair and that things weighs a ton. Getting that thing in and out of the van is a killer. And most of the time it was just me and her for appts and etc...so I got it out by myself usually. I will be praying for her!!!! Melissa L.....I added you to the prayer list. I have not had surgery yet so I can't say that I know what you are going thru. But I have read alot on the board and I think it's a challenge for everyone in the beginning with adjusting to the new stomach. I will be praying for you...Just hang in there it will get better soon. Krissy B.....Thought you might need a boost getting the hang of typing lol lol so I added you to the prayer list as well. Prayer is not just for pain and sickness...The Good Lord can help us with all sorts of things.....Hope you don't mind. ...Good Luck and don't give up we love hearing from you. Now I would like to give a yell to all those in my area near the and in the bootheel that have not found a place to go to support meetings......We are kinda far and in between places for meetings......If any of you would like to pull togther and go to one I would love to hear from you. My old vans not real good to go to far in but if any of you want to car pool and start going once a month to a support meeting I would be more than glad to put in on the gas! Good Morning Everyone: Woke up to dark cloud rolling thro again. No, I am not complaining I know that htis will really help the tree's and vegatations this summer. Pick up a few thing in the kitchen got my flavored water and getting ready to take my pills. Waiting to hear from Janet when her appt is so I can be ready to go when she get her. Terry & I ran out to their place last night for a few minutes. Got to play with the remote truck she got. WOW that things moves fast!!! Needless to say now DH want one also. Boys and their toys. lol Came home threw something in the oven. Jumped in the shower and then ate supper. Watched a little tv and then off to la la land. I was bushed what a day!!! Today it's going to the appt with Janet. And being with her for awhile. Come home go make car payment, start laundry, water my plants, vacume, sweep, just a general over all house cleaning. Think about something for supper do know what were going to have but I am sure it will be something. lol Sure pray that Sugar is doing alot better and that she is able to drink or eat better now. Got her a card sent off need. I really like that the hospital does that for their patients. Well I hope everyone has a great day!!! Sorry still in a fog. Yesterday Terry & I took his father to his doctors appt. The did a urine test to see if there wa sany infection in it. Nope it came back clear. Then he set him up for some blood work. And gave him a presciption for antidepressions. Doc said that alot of people his age fall into depression there was nothing we did or didnt do. (which I was really worried about) But that it seems from the way we decribed thing that he has been in this state for a LONG time. Doc was glad to se that we were moved in with him to keep an eye on him and make sure he takes his meds on a regualr basis. Dad started his pill last night and the doc seems to think we should start seeing a difference in him in about 2 weeks. And doc will see him again in 4 weeks to make sure everything is going okay. This pill will also boost his appitite too. Thanks for all the prayers!!!! God Bless Mel

Hello Missouri, What a gorgeous day we're going to have today. Supposed to be up to 80 degrees in Springfield. It's not really sunny but bright with light cloud cover. Last night when I got home from work DH said come out and look at the iris he'd planted and see the three blossoms on my lilac. I went to the sliding door onto the patio and there was a huge turtle scooting across the patio. It was at least 10-12 inches long and really could move fast for a turtle. We have a fenced yard so I'm not sure how it got in but I last saw it moving along the fence line so I think it was looking for the hole it must have crawled through to get into the yard. I'd love for it to stay in my yard, used to have one in California to eat snails. I put a few pieces of dry dog food out in case it was hungry but it just walked right over the food so I guess it was just focused on getting home. You all know how I love all animals so I will feel better when I know turtle is comfortable. We are excited for our weekend in Kansas City. I love little short get-aways like that. Almost more fun than a full-blown vacation because you don't have to think too much about what to take. I always take too much anyway, whether for a weekend of a week. Hope all the newbies aren't scared off by our rambling posts. We LOVE new people, even though we all are pretty well acquainted. We'd love to get acquainted with you too. Janet, I'm anxious to hear about your Doctor's appointment today so let us know. Melissa, glad your FIL kept the appointment. Hi Jan, Sorry to hear Auntie Sug is under the weather. Please tell her she is in my prayers. It has been rush, rush, busy, busy here. DBF has worked everyday and extra so that left most of the things for me. We do love the apartment and have wonderful neighbors we visit with every day.Only problem we have right now is our car is acting up and my brother is swamped at his job. He did say I can leave it today and he will try to get it done. It seems like there are so many newbies now I can't keep up. An old friend of mine will be one soon. She is waiting on her date from Dr. H. I also saw a new one in the hopistal today but was busy talking to Shawn's husband and didn't get a chance to introduce myself. Are there any new plans for the re-union? I have been trying to catch up but have been so exhausted that any free time I have I spend trying to rest my legs. At times I can hardly walk with my right knee and now my right shoulder made a popping noise last nite. NOT GOOD ! It is the one I had surgery on 2 years ago and I think I may have pulled the muscle away from the labrum again. My use is limited and it hurts 24/7. It is the same noise and pain I had then. Oh well I'll just add it to the list of "glad when it is better things"". Take care. I have errands to do. Julia

Hey, everyone - finally a minute to post real quick. So sorry I haven't been able to post more. They're watching our internet use at work so I've been getting on rarely and just for a minute to lurk. Once I get home since the days are so much longer, my time is generally spent outside w/my 4 year old. Glad to hear Sugar has turned the corner and is finally feeling better. I can't believe all the new losers we have! Yeah!!!! As of Monday I had lost 24.6 lbs. I had my first fill today. I was out of there in probably 10 minutes once I finally got to go in. Amazing. I hope to get restriction the first time but if not I can go back for another in 2 weeks. It's amazing what a difference just 24 lbs. can make. I'm not as tired now and best of all I've got pants that are loose now instead of tight!

Jan and all, hello to all. was reading the cookie receipe and just wanted to pass on some info. I was at the store some weeks ago and looked at the splenda brown sugar and found that when figuring the grams - if you take splenda and mix half of it with equal amount of brown sugar(regular) you have exactly what is in splenda brown sugar. Only it is cheaper. I studies the ingredients on back so now I mix splenda and brown sugar and dont have to buy the extra. and pay that price!!! Let me know what you think. God Bless!!! Colette

Hey all....lots of bad weather around me right now so I don't know how long I will be able to post. Just wanted to thank Jan for the info about the flowers seeds, yes I will be having fun!...lol Been kind of quiet around here today...I'm a little under the weather but I will be fine soon. Dang, Deb...I didn't know we could go back for another fill so fast. I thought it was a month wait. I will be on the phone tomorrow! I think I need at least 1cc more!
