8 days to go...

Hi Susan, My surgery is March 28. I am having mine in St. Louis with Dr. Richardson. Good luck to you. I will be thinking of you. I have been on the liquid diet for 6 days. I have lost 9 1/2 pounds. Not a lot of fun but we will get through it. Keep us posted. Christy

Hi Susan and all that added to this post. I didn't bother to tell my family that I was having Lap Band Surgery done! I knew what they would say and I didn't want or need to be bothered with their thoughts. It was better for me, that way! My hubby, David knew as well as my kids, grandkids (the ones that are old enough to understand), my pastor and a few chosen friends from Church. They all understood and supported me! The only one that had a problem with it at first was my oldest grandson who just turned 8 years old. He thought all grandmas were fat and that is the way it's suppose to be! I sat him down and we had a long talk about it. Now he is happy for me! Funny thing was that he thought that when I came out of surgery I would be skinny already! I told him, I wish!! I wrote an email to the rest of the family explaining what I had done and about my weight loss after recovering from surgery! I got a phone call from my brother after the bad storms we had last month and we talked about the surgery then...he and his wife are very supportive now, knowing about my weight loss, especially after I told about all the health problems I had before (co-morbilities). One of my sisters had made snide remarks about the surgery, acting like she had never heard about Lap Band. I know with her weighing close to if not more than 300lbs she HAS HEARD about LAP BAND surgery! Somedays, I really wish she'd grow up!...she's only 54...geez! Anyway, never heard a thing from my other sister who lives the closest to me but oh well! I'm happy, David's happy and God is okay with what I've had done so all is good! By the way, I live just outside of Harrisonville...Greenwood is just down Hwy 291 a bit. I will be praying for ya during your journeys! Deb M
