Hope everyone had a good St. Patricks Day. About all we do to celebrate the day is cook corned beef and cabbage. I got the smallest one I could find and then I cut it in two pieces to cook the other one some other day ,because we love the stuff . But no sence in cooking it all now and just having to freeze the other half. That is something I have had to re learn now is to buy the smallest roast of any kind then I cut it into 2 sometimes 4 pieces and only cook one piece at a time. Sure looks small but always have left overs lol Looks like we are in for a really rainy week next week. Temps will be nice but will be raining. So guess we will work inside doing something. Probably work on the trailer(guest house.) We still have a lot to do in there to get it like we want it. Need to find someone that can come and sit the new toilet so we can get the old one out and redo the floor in there. Sure cant find anyone to do things anymore tho. And the ones that say they know how to do a lot of things like that really don't. and you paid money to someone that didn't do the job half right. Well the guy came and finished up the area in front of the drive where we cleared it off. Now to get it laid out for what I want to do up there. Want to plant some pretty ornamental trees. And that are fast growing but don't get too tall. This is under some power lines so we don't want to get in them. I do have a weeping willow tree that I want to plant back of the lines far enough that it wont get into it. Michelle: Im glad that you have found a doctor you are happy with. That is very important when you are facing major surgery. Each doctor has a different protocol and what works for him. So just follow all he tells you to do and you will be ok. Tammy: Well im part Indian but I never heard of any warm weather dance. Will look in my book of dances to see. Lol My quite place is of course in my flower garden. I will be adding things to it as I go along. It is in the shade part of the garden and eventually will be sort of hidden little room surrounded by shrubs and flowers. I want a small fountain in there and a better more comfortable place to sit. Hope to at least get that one done this summer. Hope you all had a good time at the nephews birthday party. Family get to gethers are lots of fun sometimes. Lol Collette: Hope you are having a good time at your Children's house. Yes Houston in March is like a tropical land in reference to Missouri. The first time I ever went to Houston was in March from Missouri and I thought I had died and gone to heaven it was so pretty and warm and then by July and August I thought I had gone the other direction it was so Hot!!!!. Lol Janet: Doesn't matter where we have the Reunion just try to keep it close to the middle of the state. If Lake of the Ozarks is too expensive go to a cheaper area. That will still be fair for everyone. We are like a lot of people not rich right? We live on a fixed income and to do fun things we have to budget them in. When it gets too expensive we have to say no to them. No matter how much we want to do it. I will be so happy when you all can come down and visit too. My iris are all growing like crazy and will be ready to start blooming around the first part of May or at least that is when they usually get going. They are so beautiful and every year I add more of them in different colors. I have two large beds of them in the back of the house and one on the side of the house and now some started up the driveway. They are my favorite flower. I bought several last year that are re-bloomers. They are suppose to bloom again in the late summer. I hope they do. LOL I don't know if your doctors office reads the Missouri board or not but Dr. Hornbostel and all of his staff and lots of the people from the Hospital read our posts. They all knew me when I went to have surgery and came and talked to me lol. Made me feel good that they came and said Hi. I read your Whats Happening post all the time. So they may very well read this and then they will know what you did. Arent you ashamed of your self lol NO!!! didn't think so. Lol Hope you had a great day today, since you found something to calm the pain down. Are the Flexaril still helping ? I read online that most of the pain that people have in their backs is muscle pain not spinal pain itself. It is from the muscles contracting and trying to hold us up straight and all. Now im not too sure how true that is but I know that a good massage sure does help a lot. And the muscles relaxants help more than pain pills so Sounds good anyway. Debbie D: You are doing really good to be out that long since your surgery, that was what on the 5th? That is really good. Proud of you. Is that book really good? I have thought about ordering that too. Wow that Spinach and shrimp salad your husband had sounds really good. Made me hungry and not many things make me hungry anymore. But most of the time when I go out I eat the soup because I know it wont make me sick and the last thing I want to do when im out in public is get sick. Lol Right now at this stage of the game the main thing for you to be getting in is fluid . That you got in 30 grams at this early date is good. I remember when I was a little over a week out I was barely getting in 30 oz of water a day let alone the protein. When I got the go ahead from my doctor for the protein drinks at week two then I was able to get one protein drink down a day and that took quite a while to do. I really had a hard time eating lots of things and kept a feeling of being nauseated all the time until I started taking B-complex that took care of that completely. There are certain things I still cant eat but and still some things that the smell of them is enough. But for the most part most things taste good now I just cant eat a lot and that is good. I still have not tried sugar and don't intend to. Im afraid it wont make me dump and then I would be wanting it all the time. There are lots of good things that are sugar free so when I get a sweet tooth I can find something. Sugar: sure hope you are feeling better thes morning. I know you are anxious to get to feeling better and all but it does take time you know. Just hang in there it will get better Barbara Scott: Hey thanks I was afraid it was just locally that it was local colleges . I really like that show and record it when im not going to be home. Lol. LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS JAN

Good Sunday Morning Ya'll, Well what a week it's been here in Pilot Knob, MO. Wednsday the BIL got out of the hospital and went home, a bit soon I think. I been over there ever since he's home, doing what has to be done cuz he just cant get around yet. He gets the staples out of his wound on monday and after that they'll start fitting him with a new leg, cant spell prostectic, then hopefully after he gets the first one he'll start rehab and get to doing things on his own, that'll be a good 6 weeks or better im sure. When I leave there I been coming straight home and getting my class work done, after that I been so tired I just havnt felt like posting or anything, sorrys. Looks like its been rather busy on the board here, thats a good thing. Saturday I had to get up at 4am and go help pick up Angel Food then get that distributed, thats always a blessing, I came home and started feeling bad, ugh, think I've caught whatever bug has been going around. Susan has been working alot but still loves it, I told her tho to not let them take advanage of the situation, even tho overtime is good for us, the money isnt worth her getting run down. Did ya'll get some snow yesterday??? It started snowing here about 10am or so, I could not believe how hard it was snowing. We got about an inch or so, by the afternoon tho it was all gone, sheesh, is winter ever gonna quit?? I went out and covered my mums back up, I had already uncovered them cuz it was warm and they had started growing, hopefully they'll be ok. Guess I wont be working in the garden any next week, looks like its calling for thunderstorms all week, spose to be warm too so look out for those nasty tornados. Jan I was so mad that Survivor was taken off for basketball lol I guess it'd a been ok if it was taken off for Nascar of football LoL Dont forget this week Survivor is on Wedsnday, not sure what time, I think 8pm but dont quote me on that, it might be 7pm I'll have to look. Hi to all the newbies here and congrats to those that just had surgery Deb M thanks for the prayers, sorry I didnt get back to ya last week but I sure felt your prayers, Susan say****o all! Well I think Im gonna go crawl back into bed for a while. Hope everyone has a blessed Sunday. Much Love and Prayers, Andrew

Dear Jan and OH Peeps~ Well, Saturday was an awful day here....the flexiril I am taking for my back wipes me out. It can take awhile for your body to get used to it-but it sure makes me tired!! I went to the store cause I had to-and then came home and took a nap. Then about 6 pm, was talking to Mel on the phone and my stepson comes in the livingroom carrying my 4 yr old-and I can only see the white of his eyes-his whole face was covered in blood!! Needless to say, I hung up on Mel, and thank God my hubby had just walked out of the bathroom, cause I wasnt doing so hot!! He should have had stitches, but we know from experience with him that he doesnt do well with the emergency room or doctors...I went to Walmart (in record time, I might add) and got butterfly bandaids, liquid bandaids, tylenol and some bigger patches to cover it....HOLY COW!!! It didnt quit bleeding for over 3 hrs! I know from nursing school that head and foot wounds will bleed forever-but it sure doesnt matter if you have that knowledge or not when its your child!!! So, he has a gash over an inch long above his eyebrow on the right side. He is a trooper though and is doing better today. He didnt give us too much hassle while we made him lay on the couch with his head elevated for the rest of the night. He said that he bent over to get a peice of paper and hit his head on his bed, and it just split him open!! ARGH....My 2 daughters combined didnt have as many episodes as Jon has had in his short 4 years of life!! We knew from when he broke his collar bone when he was 1 1/2 yrs old and it took 4 people to hold him down just for the xrays etc-that he would be much worse off going to the emergency room! So, I didnt get ANY sleep last night between laying beside him to keep an eye on him and my husband coming in every hour and checking on him too!! Today wont be doing too much except hanging out here and keeping the little guy from getting too excited etc...thats gonna take an act of congress though! My mom and daughter are gonna stop by to visit later on in the day and I will just get the laundry and odds and ends cleaned up. Will go for my walk a little later on, just hope it warms up outside. My back really hasnt hurt too much since I started the flexiril, but does flare up once in awhile....a lot better than before though, and I can handle this. Well, I am going to close for now. I want to get some things done and help my hubby change Jons dressings. I hope everyone has a good Sunday and I will tt you all later. Love, Janet

HOWDY MISSOURI FOLKS!!!!! I think it is going to be a little warmer down here in the bootheel than it was yesterday. Weather is so crazy at times, thrusday we had weather warm enough to wear shorts and then yesterday we got snow!!!!! The other day I mentioned someone doing a "BRING THE WARM WEATHER BACK DANCE" LOL LOL.... I guess they got their dances mixed up and done the "SEND IN THE SNOW DANCE" LOL LOL..... Jan....if indians had a dance for rain I wonder why they didn't do up one for warmer weather lol lol..... I hope you get your prayer spot done like you want it this summer. It sounds like it will be beautiful when you are done. Every time you post it seems your busy doing something. I miss having energy to do like that..And I'm looking so forward to getting back to being able to get out and do again after I have my surgery and get some of this dang weight off! Our BBQ was great!!!! Everyone was here and we took pics of all the kids and of course had tons of laughs.....I love having my family together. I am going to miss my sister so badly when she moves! Janet so sorry to hear about Jon.....I know how what you mean about it being different when it's your child....I had a situation with both my kids....my daughter fell out of her high chair when she was about two and hit the metal control box on my mothers water heater and by the time I picked her up off the floor we were both covered in blood....I was terrified!! Then we got to the ER and and they got her cleaned up she didn't even have to have stitches!!!!!! Then when my son was about 3 he fell off his bike and hit a tiny little pebble and bled like a stuck hog....He did end up wtih one stitch but I was for sure it was going to be 4 or 5....And I think kids would have a different feeling about the ER if the dang nursers and doctors were a little bit more understanding and a little more gentel with the kids.....I have had situations with my kids at the ER where you could tell it was just an all the time thing for them to deal with. Well kids don't feel that way..And all the equipment and stuff is scarey to them. And most kids don't like strangers that well...... Andrew...Hope your feeling better soon. To all you new loosers.....My prayers are with you. Hope your all doing great. Yall better get well enough to scoot over soon cause I plan on parking my big booty on that bench soon! LOL LOL LOL..... Gotta run for now but hope all of you have a great day!!!!! Love & Hugs..Tammy H.

Good Morning Everyone: It sure is pretty outside today. Yesterday I didnt think it would warm up to what they said it was suppose to get to. Got up early on Saturday went garage saleing. Dropped off my engagement ring at the jewlers to have it resized (if that wasnt an ordeal). Took DH to lunch, walked the entire flea market, went to go pick up my ring. The measured me worng it wouldnt fit. They had to redo it so while we waited we walked the mall. And then went to the Movies. Got to see Ghost Rider it was pretty good. Been awhile since DH & I went to the movies. Went back and FINALLY picked up my ring. Yea it fits now I just have to get use to waering it on my right hand now. lol Was on our way hoe talking to Janet when I hear her gasp and tellme she's gotta go. I needless to say freaked out waiting for her to call me back. Thank goodness her son is okay today. I tossed and turned all night worried about him. You guys have to see him he is such a sweet thing. Will just melt your heart or at least he did mine. He's my buddie!! Today not alot planned. Was going to church but I just couldnt get up. Didnt sleep for nothing last night and I was just totally wiped out. DH let me sleep in for awhile. He's afraid if I keep going and going I am going to wear myself down and get sick. Bless his sweet heart. I am cooking stewed tomaotes w/steak, bell peppers and onions. Today for dinner today. I need to go season my meat and let it marinate for awhile. DH is going to get the Sunday paper and gas up Dad's car. I pray everyone has a wonderful day. It is good to see so many new people on the board. Along with some of the olders ones too (no pun intended) God Bless Mel

Well hello again from Houston. We are enjoying our visit and I am getting a lot of walking in. The four year old keeps one hopping. It is so nice and warm here, actually going to go swimming this afternoon and then a bbq with some of the kids friends invited over. Our son John came in to visit yesterday also and is here till tonight. He lives about 3 hours away. I plan to go to the exercise room each morning with Jan(My daughter). T hey live in an apartment complex and have an exercise room close by. So we will see how it goes. Hope this finds everyone doing fine. Have a great day, and rejoice that the Lord has made this day.
