insurance questions
hello! i had my doctor apt today with Dr. Scott. He said i was a risk level 2, so that's good. I also did PFT testing today and i didn't get below 98 percent. After the meeting he said i just needed to do a 6 month supervised medical diet, i basically got that i just had to weigh in every month at my PCP and have them document my weight, is that all you have to do? I also have to do weigh****chers or tops for 6 months to, so if i have to do all of this it will be a year before my surgery. however, i'm trying to see if my past weigh****chers will count, and i'm also going to talk to my pcp and see if she can take my past weigh ins and submit them and see if that works.. i've been on slim fast the most recent...and you guessed right i haven't lost a pound, the only thing i've lost is $$$ anyway, if anyone has any suggestions please feel free to submit them. Thanks
I cant see that you would have to do them one after the other maybe you could do them at the same time. You know go to weigh****ches and then also see your doctor once a month to be weighted there too. But who knows they sometimes have people jumping thru the same hoops twice.
anyway welcome to the board and hope you keep comeing all the time. it is a good source of support most everyone has been where you are at one time or the other.
Hope to see you again. Jan
Lisa,
I had to do six months physician monitored diet and exercise program before surgery and I was ablt to do it all in the same six months. The really best advice I can give you is to be in touch with your insurance and ask them to please tell you exactly what you need to do to get approved. Then do absolutely whatever they ask for and keep meticulous records. I used FitDay.com for recording food intake and signed in at the gym every day. I got my approval as promised as soon as I had completed the requirements.
Keep coming back, we love and support you.
