WOW !! Thank you all. I never thought I would feel so comfortable somewhere. I am learning alot from OH. I have been kinda sneaking around on the main board reading everything I can. Looking forward to meeting some new people who been dealing with weight issues and know what it is like to deal with a world who seem alot of times so mean! Thanks again, Susan

Hi Susan, Dr De la torre performed my surgery, and Dr. Scott was my aftercare surgeon. They are both WONDERFUL. Just do what they tell you to do!! I am curious, however, Why are you going to Columbia if you are living in St. Charles? (I live in St. Charles, too)! They have an office here at DePaul. That is where I had my surgery, and it was great........the first seminar, the appointments, the surgery, and the support meetings twice a month. Not trying to be nosy, just trying to save you a few miles! LOL! Jeanneen Surgery 12/20/06 349 pounds Today 3/16/07 277 pounds

Its my insurance. I am so glad to at least have some kind, (I know some people don't have any help at all with their medical bills and prescriptions, so I don't like to complain about mine) but no one will take mine. The Columbia office would. I have been on a waiting list since 7/06 with Barnes Jewish in St. Louis, but I still have another 1 1/2 years to wait on that list before they even called me in for my first appt. to see if it is even okay for me to have surgery and then to wait for ins. to consider an approval for me. PS: I have no problems answering most questions here. I am starting to feel like you all are kinda like my second family here. (sometimes I like you guys better than my immediate family) LOL. ((((HUGS))))) Susan

Susan, Well maybe they will let you go to De Paul for your aftercare. It shouldn't make any difference. At least you could go to the support meetings at De Paul. They are open to anyone, and they are the 1st and 3rd Wed of each month and usually about 40 plus people attend. They are at all stages of the program......thinking about surgery thru veterans of a few years! Jeanneen
