Dr. H has changed some things

Now not only do we have to have scopes 2-3 weeks brfore surgery, now we have to have 14 days of liquid diet with high protein slim fast( I think this is the one)before surgery!! UUUUGGGGHHHHH!!!!!! Shawn filled me in on the change today. If I had only had this a month sooner . Now I wonder what else they can change in the next 20 days!! Julia

sure am glad that i had mine when i did , i cant stand slim fast. that is nasty stuff to me. wonder if you can have your protein shake instead. Jan

Probally can, I just haven't tried any more protein other than the UnJury. I am going to have to see if I can find some of the ON Delicious strawberry to try or the vanilla.But I am going to cheat and add frozen fruit to it!!!!!Till I can get used to it and drink it. The taste of the unjury is ok , it is the smell that gets to me.I tried slim fast one time and thought I was going to the fist sip. Also Jan, the girl that has given me so much trouble getting the paperwork on my apt done is who I needed to see today. Of course she had called in ill again!!!!! So if she doesn't give me answers in the morning I am calling my social worker with MDA and let her give them hell. I also found out that a friend of mine was a board member for the apts. so I am going to call her and see if she can help. At least I hope she is still on the board. And them to top things off my sewer backed up in my apt today when I wasn't here. I had to go outside and stand in sewage mid calf to release the pressure in the line so it would spill outside and not in my apt. then I had to call the plumber again. So needless to say I need all you wonderful prayer warriors to help hold me up. Julia

Julia im sure you will be fine. Each sip is closer to being on the losers bench. its well worth it. But IM sure Dr H learns as he goes to what is best for his patients. That makes me feel more at ease knowing he is doing this as exra measures..God Bless Craig Lee

Julia, When did the pre-op diet change? I knew about the endoscopy 2 weeks before surgery, Marge called and told me about that. I had not heard about the liquid diet. I guess I am fortunate, I don't mind the slim fast. I buy the milk chocolate, the only complaint I have is that I get gas. Let me know what the diet it consist of, is it only the slim fast or is there anything else. I am right behind you April 24th. thanks, Ginger
