6 month DR. supervised Diet and Exercise Program - Insurance Mandated

Friday is my FINAL appointment for my 6 month program. Friday is day 183 of the diet/exercise monitoring. It was required by insurance and is my last pre-op HURDLE/HOOP to jump through before my final consultation with Dr. Edwards!!!! My doctor and I will both be faxing TONS of info to Mary Trampler (nurse coord for Dr. E) on Friday...so please send me good thoughts that everything makes it through and is received in a positive manner. I am conditionally approved for the lap-band surgery...with the condition being the completion of this 6 month program. So please keep me in your prayers that I am 100% approved. I have developed 2 more co-morbidities while doing this program. It really has felt like forever, and I am so glad it is almost over. I am ready to have the surgery and be on the way to a healthier me! Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you, Leah

Leah, Best wishes that this was your very last hoop! Congrats on getting this far and I bet it REALLY has seemed like forever. You should join us at the Circle of Friends support group sometime. We have one other person who has gotten lap band recently. Would be great to have more of you! You'll be in our prayers! Tami

Hi, Leah! I only had to do a 3 month dr. supervised diet so I can only imagine how long that 6 months must've felt. But the good news is that you've made it and you'll soon be on your way. I had Dr. Edwards do my lap-band on 2/19. Mary is wonderful at what she does and she'll go through your documentation to make sure everything is in order. I feel positive you'll get your approval and will very soon be scheduled for surgery. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll try to answer them the best I can.

Leah!!! WOO HOO!!! I well remember how exciting it was to get through that diet/exercise program. It seems like a long time but remember you'll be healthier for the rest of your life. I can't wait for you to get a date. Do you have an angel? I'll volunteer if you need one. Hope to see you in a couple of weeks at COF meeting. Save me a seat. I'll be the one wearing "tight-fitting" jeans. Can't believe I can say that!!! I just know your approval is going to come through quickly, you've jumped through all the hoops and have the BMI and co-morbidities so they can't have any reason to deny you. Congrats!!! I just had my apt and i have to have a 6 month supervised diet...what does that entail?? from what i got, you just have to go to the doctor everymonth and get weighed? Is that right? Dr. Scott's nurse, said 6 months, but i think my insurance is just a 3 month supervised one, i have mercy health care plan from the state of missouri (i work for the state of missouri) I also have to have weigh****chers or tops documentation for 3 months....can i do submit that documentation from years ago? any answers will help me!! thanks.
