What is involved in starting a support group
First, does anyone know if there is a support group in the Rolla MO area. I am not sure where the nearest group is. We are approximately 2 hours from everywhere, so I had thought about eventually starting a group at my church if there is none near here. My church is in Rolla. What is there to starting a support group? I know that if enough people were interested whether it was one or two, it would be a big help. Any ideas? I have not had my surgery yet, but I don't think that should matter, unless it would because I don't have enough experience under my belt. Let me know ideas and thoughts. Thanks!
Elisa,
We started a support group in Blue Springs last month. The biggest problem is finding a place to meet. Sounds like you have that worked out. we had 4 people attend ours. You will need someone to organize it and get it started and then post about it and see what happens. I had a lot of help from tony in securing a place. Best of luck to you. Colette
Elisa,
I might suggest that you drive over to the Circle of Friends support group in Springfield on the 26th of March and then you'd know how ours is conducted and you could then know what you need to do. We meet from 6:30 to 8:00 so you would still get home at a decent hour. Welcome to the board and congratulations on starting your journey. A support group is crucial to me, feel I wouldn't be as successful without it.
Hugs and love,
Lana
