~Questions about Cod Liver Oil~

Hi OH Peeps~ I was wondering if any of you know anything about a health food product called Cod Liver Oil? I suffer from stage 5 Osteoarthritis and DJD, both knees, hips, spine...I am in a lot more pain now (being 110# lighter) than I was before surgery-but dont want to be on the narcotics I was on prior....My neighbor said she started taking this product for her arthritis and is almost totally pain free. She swears by it and wants me to try it out as well....SO-since I havent gotten any return calls back from PCP or NUT...asking my panel of family and friends here if you or anyone you know have used this-anyone who has had gastric bypass and did it help? did it give anyone diarrhea? Janet, Only know about old fashioned Cod Liver Oil which was given as a laxitive when I was a wee wee tot. I hated it because it tasted like fish and you belched fishy!!! However, I doubt it would hurt you so it might be worth a try. Google and read is my answer. Hugs to you sweetie, sorry you are hurting so bad. My RA is much better since the weather is warmer. Hi Janet, You can get the fish oil in capsules, so no taste. I don't know how good they work only that they had a lot of people on them when I was working at the hospital. Julia
