Insurance

Hello everyone, I am new to the board, been reading the posts alot, finally decided to quit chickening out and post a question, I need insurance, does anyone have any sugestions, I recently had back surgery from an injury on the job, then lost my job when I was released to go back to work, so now I am unemployed and starting over in finding financing for the lapband surgery, if anyone has any sugestions for me and my situation I would so appreciate it. Thank you

Joyce First off welocme to the board!!!! I am sorry to hear that you lost your job after your surgery. That reaks totally!!! Do they offer their cobra insurance thro your old job?? I know that can usually be expenceive tho. I will keep you in my prayers that the Lord opens a door for you with the right insurance for the surgery. God Bless Melissa P.S. Joyce WELCOME ABOARD!! Like Melissa says you could try to see if your company offers COBRA. You could also try for Medicaid. I dont know what the citeria is for that, but you can check it out. Hope all good well for you. Kathleen

Joyce welcome to the Missouri Board. I think Kathleen made a good point , you might be eligable for medicaid for a short period i dont know. have you found another job or still looking or not able to get a job due to health. You might could be clasified as disabled and draw your social securtiy for awhile till you got the surgery and could work. Jan
