Janet, Bless your heart. Thanks for getting this rolling. I am so looking forward to seeing everyone and just visiting and having fun. I would want a cabin, would be glad to bring food to share and to Barbeque with everyone. If there is a cooler or refrigerator I can pretty much live on cottage cheese, but would cook in my cabin if it was there. It's not that many meals to worry about. Probably wouldn't eat out much. Can't always find foods I trust not to mess me up. We could each pitch in money for food. There would probably just be me. John might come but I doubt it. As for entertainment, I don't swim or fish but love just sitting in the sun and visiting with everyone or reading. It doesn't take much to make me happy. I'm a cheap date!! Bon fires are so much fun and singing around the campfire is one of my favorite things to do. If we are near the Lake of the Ozarks there's a great outlet mall there. I am a good shopper. I appreciate all the work involved with this endeavor. The only time I'm not available is from June 30 through July 8. That's our vacation week. Hugs and love, Lana

Alright, I am there! Plus my hubby I am sure. Especially if it is on a fishing lake. Sometimes some facilities have a bonfire pit, but most dont anymore. I would definatley need a cabin. Rick and I say our idea of camping out is a 4 star hotel...just cant do the camping thing any longer. As far as the food, pot luck is great for the main meal together, but with someone in charge of the main meat or what ever, then someone in charge of drinks, cups, plates etc. I have organized years and years worth of our family reunions. So contact me if I can help in anyway! This may turn out to be huge so be prepared for alot of work...but it is fun! We could come just about anytime if we have enough notice. My hubby still works and would need some time to put down for vacation...but weekends would be good. Here is an idea, you might want to check on church camps in the area. Sometimes they are more open to things we might want to do and always have a huge kitchen and dining hall (just in case of rain) Hope to hear more news soon of this great adventure. I start my wls adventure on Wed. 7th so I should be in great shape by summer! Sugar

It does sound like fun, but I believe that the Lake of the Ozarks is in the middle of the state, and would be perfect for all the things everyone is wanting to do. That is just my opinion, which doesnt mount to much Thanks Janet C. Kathleen

Count us in!! There's 4 in my family. We'd be happy to have a cabin, hotel, tent whatever. We camp all the time. We would even be open to sharing a cabin if necessary. Both days is fine with us. Anytime this summer. We don't have any plans. We do have two kayaks, so a lake or somewhere to "float" would be great if possible. If not we'll play games or mingle. Thanks for getting this all together for us, Janet!!!!! You're the best.

Sorry I missed this the other day. You can count my wife and I to be there. We have a tent but we'd prolly stay in a cabin, I havnt stayed in a tent in years, be my luck I'd lay down on a mat and couldnt get back up LoL Most anytime in the summer should be good for us, we just need a couple weeks to give Susan's work notice and yeah we'd stay overnight. WOW...I can't believe this idea is taking off so fast...... There would be at least 2 of us unless the kids were interested in coming too. We would need a cabin...butt's still too big for a sleeping bag on the ground lol lol....but we do have a 3 room tent we can bring for extra sleepins space if the kids dont use it. I think everyone bringing meat to be cooked on the grill would be great. Or even if someone wanted to bring a big ham or turkey they cooked. Then everyone bring assorted dishes we could put together for a buffet style eating. Lord I hope I'm back to being able to eat reg foods by the time this goes down!!!!!!! If it's ok I would like to make up some paper type awards to give for different things like most weight lost, farthest traveling to get together and etc. Hope everyone keeps offereing ideals.......I think this will turn out to be a funtastic gathering!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Boy... it does sound like this will be a big group. I know The Lake of the Ozarks is probably more centrally located and not too far from us here either but I believe if you check the Prices of cabins, motel rooms or camping spaces you will see a LARGE differece between Lake of the Ozarks and Truman Lake - Especially during high season. I threw out Truman because it's not as expensive for everything needed for a fun weekend like everyone is talking about. They have boat & pontoon boat rentals at the marina and a cafe right on the marina. If you want the phone numbers to check out prices for everyone they are: Bucksaw Resort and Marina is 660-477-3900 and the Bucksaw Campgrounds is 660-477-3402 I don't think husband and I will be able to attend where ever it will be planned but I've had experience with these folks at our sons wedding everyone had a blast. The people who run the Resort are just super folks. The Resort also has a pool within walking distance to the Marina Cafe and fishing. I believe there is a swimming beach nearby too. Don't know for sure cause I've only fished there. Anyway just trying to help who ever is looking, find something for everyone. Especially as far as expenses go. Hugs to all Pat B.
