~Poll for MO board Summer Reunion~

Hi MO Peeps~ I am doing some investigating into our summer get together and I have some questions to allow me a better idea of what we are dealing with......Please respond in a post to let me know-THANKS.... First, would you attend a 1st annual MO Board Family Reunion? IF so, how many people would be coming (including yourself).... This would be for a Sat and Sun....would you want to come for the day or would you want to spend the night? If you would just want to come for the day, which day works best for you? If you would be staying overnight-would you prefer a cabin, would you stay in your tent or an RV? I am asking this so we know what we are dealing with people wise and how many cabins, tent sites and RV sites we would require and then if you just were coming for the day-we are wanting to reserve a pavillion, so would like to know how many people would plan on attending as they will ask when we reserve. For those that would be staying the weekend, would you want other recreational things to do as far as boating, fishing, swimming, jet skis, shopping-anything like that-please feel free to let me know. I know a couple of people have indicated they would like to be able to swim, some have told me that they think it would be neat to have a bon fire at night etc....We just need your input-this does not require any money right now etc-just your opinion and how many people would be attending so we have a rough idea of how big of a facility we will need. For those who choose a cabin, would you want restaurants near by-or would you cook in your cabin or bbq with us? Let me know so I can get on this with the research and try and get as many things as people would like.... This IS going to be so much fun....please also indicate if there is a specific time you would NOT want to attend or cant due to other summer plans....we will do our best to work around that schedule for sure....Ok Peeps-start typing and let me know what you think so we can get this ball rolling....Love ya all, Janet

Janet You know me I am there. There would be 2 in my party. It doesnt matter weither it is a cabin or tent. I have a tent that sleeps approx 4 to 6 with an attached screen porch type. I love the idea of swimming and camp fires!! Terry & I have a trailor that we can haul things on for the outing. Tents, chairs, coolers, ect. And pretty much anytime is kewl for us too. I will definatley bring my camera with lots of disk so we could post them. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help out. I also have membership at Sam's in case we need plate, cups ect. Cant wait I am excited about our get together!!!! Love ya Mel

Well we have already talked but Joe and I could come just about any time. but i would imagine that people that work it would have to be on the week end. That is fine with me. There would be the 2 of us and we would want a cabin. I thought maybe we could all bring something and have a pot luck like on Saturday . Joe loves to fish. so that would be something he would enjoy, me i would just like to meet everyone and talk . bon fire sounds good but lots of places have restrictions about that. I would love it if we could be there for a week end. We would probably go up on Friday night then leave on Sunday . Need someone that has the ability to do so to make a big long banner saying something like Annual MO. Board family reunion. to hang from the pavalion so everyone would know where to meet up at . lots to talk about and hope everyone will have some input into the day , time and things to do. Jan

Janet, No specific days of week, would stay 2 days, possibly 2 to 4 people( I don't really want to drive by myself) swimming and possibly fishing, but definitely swimming. I like the idea of a bomb fire. I would prefer a cabin but would be able to bring a tent if need be, I just have a small car unless I could get my girls to come and we brought the van.I don't care what the area since I am mid Mo anyway.I do want a shower close by if we do tents. I am getting more excited about this than WLS( JUST KIDDING). Depending on when we have this I would like to make the banner. Something we can keep and use each year. So any sugustions on that would be appreciated. Besides if my hands are busy my mouth and brain won't be worring about food!!! Thanks for taking this on. Jan and Joes bed and breakfast would love to have you too but dont think we could handle a large number at once. and we are at the bottom of the state. I would like to have all of you a couple at a time all summer. pick a time and i will book you into ( J&J Bed and Breakfast) lol either a week end or a week or what ever. Jan

Well, maybe if Julia doesn't start any BOMB fires!!...lol I haven't talked to David about it yet but it all sounds good to me! If we came, it would be for two! We would probably eat with the general population or nearby restaurants due to the fact that we will probably be down on the Harley. A cabin, would be nice! Swimming, fishing, jetski and bonfires are good....fishing from a boat even better...lol I just told David the other day that the one thing that I have never done and would love to do is jetski! Following a boat on a innertube would be fun too! (never done that either!)...lol (Note to self- better grab 2 bottles of sunscreen) We live 30 minutes south of KC, about an hour southwest of Sedalia and about 2 1/2 to 3 hours from Springfield....depends on who's driving!...lol As for our stay...I would like 2 days but David's days off are Sundays and then he has every other Monday or Wenesday off. He would have to take vacation time and between his medical issues and mine he has just about used them up for this year. They renew in September! I not sure but believe he has 1 week left or at least a few days. I will check and get back to you as soon as I can. ************************************************************** I don't mean to be a party pooper or anything like that but we have a special need while on this trip, that would be for two people that have the knowledge and the ability to perform CPR!! Oh hey!!!! I think it would be interesting to see Jan's bomb fire! I've never been to one of those but it sounds like fun IF it's safe LOL Sorry I just had to do it... I'm laughing with you Jan heaven knows my fingers do their own thing on this computer all the time! Ralph and I live right next to Truman Lake... the Bucksaw Marina and Resort is within 4 miles of us and they have great rates for campers, cabins, and hotel rooms If you want to look it up find Clinton then go East on Hwy 7 to U Hwy go south on U about 3 miles to the resort, it's right on the Lake with the camp grounds right near it. When my youngest son got married we blocked out as many rooms as needed for people who couldn't or wouldn't camp outside and got a pretty good deal on the rates although I can't remember right off. Anyway Lake Truman is right in the middle of the state - the Lake has Good fishing (we know this cause we fish all summer down there). Only thing is there are MANY fishing contests during the summer so your dates need to be booked soon if you are interested in that place. Otherwise you may not have a room or cabin to stay in.
