WHATS HAPPENING FRIDAY
Was awaken yesterday morning at about 4:30 to the sound of hail on our metal roof. Boy was it loud. Didn't even budge Joe. Lol
Lots of lightening and thunder and hail and rain some wind. But nothing else. Then it went on farther to the east from us toward West Plains
Went into spend some time with Sugar before she has her surgery. We talked and laughed and went to water Yoga. Wow that really stretches the body. I have muscles sore that I didn't know were even there. But would really like to do that more. I think it would really help me get more balanced since losing all this weight.
But I would hate to drive to Springfield 3 days a week.
Just would get pretty expensive I think ,as much as gas is here. The cheapest I have found it was in Ozark for 2.27
How much is it where you are?
Bought a new blender yesterday. Was a 40 dollar blender that they had on sale for 20 dollars. That is a good bargain. I really needed one mine had started leaking a lot and was about worn out of course I think it came over on the Mayflower.
Also bought two new pair of danskin yoga pants. That is what they are made for but I will just wear them lol
I bought a size 8 because I though they looked like my butt size and guess what they are. Lol
I thought that if they didn't fit maybe soon they would and they do. I just really cant get it in my head tho that I wear that size I think someone changed the sizes on things compared to what they were when I was younger and wore smaller clothes.
Sugar only 5 more days. You are in our prayers and know that we all will be thinking of you on Wednesday.
Glenna: we went to that supermarket you were talking about where they have all the protein stuff and all
They have several things in there that are good , but maybe need a broader selection don't you think?
We bought several things.
Julia: I guess the girls are getting ready to be able to hold off all the men that will be beating a path to their door when they lose all their weight , with all thoses guns. You think?
So had they forgotten to send you out your pre op package? Evidently they had since you are going by to pick it up.
And they hadn't called you and said when your pre-op date was? Wow?
Julia did you get the message with my phone number in it? If not click on the contact button under my post and I will send it thru there.
I would be delighted to be your angel if Gretta has to work. I sure wish the girls that had surgery earlier would still get on here. They really need the support from somewhere.
Tammy: sounds like you do have 2 wonderful support people on your side. And they will mean even more to you as you go along.
Some things cant be empathized with unless you have had the surgery too but because they love you they will do their best im sure. That is so sweet that your hubby tastes things right along with you.

So far we haven't had a state wide get to gether. I was thinking about maybe a central place that would be right in the middle of the state or something. What does everyone think? How many of you are on here that are farther north than K.C. or St. Louis? I don't recall anyone being farther north.
Im sure someone oh here could help you get your picture on the posts.
Sherr: so good to see you back posting some. I worry about you when you don't post for a while. You know the old mama in me I guess.
Is Baily responding to the treatment for his cancer?
So glad that we didn't have the storms that they said we might have
LOL husbands have their usefulness that is for sure.
I have one of the really good ones. And woudnt want to be without him to see how it really would be.
Will you stop being a loner and come join in the fun. And if you are having a bad time let us know and the least that we can do is pray.
Glad you are selling a lot of things on Semo.net radio. You will be decluttered before long. Lol
Debbie M: LOL Im glad you have never had to raise a gun to anyone that is drastic measurements. I believe in protecting your home and your family and im not anti gun. I just am anti gun for SOME people. Lol My dad always had guns and kept them in an open gun cabinet or hanging on the wall and we kids were instructed in using them and were told not to get them down without Daddy being in the room with us. And we didn't. Of course that was when kids listened to their parents and obeyed them too. Now if you tell a kid not to do something (if ever they do tell them that) they do it for spite or something.
Love the story of the attack mouse lol that was just too funny.
Very seldom do I ever burn when in the sun and when I do it isn't much. Usually don't lay in the sun. I get enough of it when I am gardening but it has been so cold and cloudy so long that I needed to bask in it . Made me feel so much better like I got a good dose of Vit D. lol .
Dannielle: Hey good morning and so good to hear from you. How are you feeling? Cant wait to hear of your weight loss. I know the first weigh in I had I was a little dispointed but it really was good. So hang in there and even if it is less than you think it should be don't get discouraged all of it will soon come rolling off. Just obey the rules and start getting some exercise of some kind. Are you walking? That is a good first step.
Janet: I just hope that guy doesn't come back. Hopefully with the warmer weather he has gone on somewhere else.
Im so so sorry about your back honey . Have you tried muscle relaxants yet? My doctor gave me some and wanted me to take one of them 3 times a day but I cant take that much I take a half one 2 times a day and it seems to control it. If I take more I am sleepy all the time. And I hate that feeling. So the half one twice a day seems to work pretty well. The second half of one I take about an hour before bed and is helping me to sleep too.
Janet our place isn't as big as your property is we only have about 2 acres in the middle of this little sort of subdivision. A lot of our neighbors are week enders. They only come down sometimes on the week end to fish and have fun on the lake.
I like the idea of all of us that post and are in the state to come together. If we could find a centrally located place with lots of room , maybe a state park with cabins to rent and room for R.Vs and tents where we could all get together for a week end. I think we have people from k.c. and st. louis area but don't know if we have anyone on here that is farther north than that or not.
Maybe if we find a place that is in the middle of the state ? What does everyone think? Would you come? Let us Know? Would it be worth all the planning and working to get this together? And then we would need someone or several someones to step up to take lead in setting this up and getting all the info for us.
Vesta: I sure am glad that you are ok after the storm that rolled thru. Yes we will remember the little girls family in our prayers.
Rachael: I have been praying that your headaches are to be resolved. Hope so they can make you miserable . Don't work too hard.
Melissa: so glad that you have the house finished and hope and pray that you find someone that will take care of your home well. And will pay the rent on time. Let them know what you expect and tell them that you drive by that direction lots of times and if it looks like it is getting to be a big mess on the outside you are sure the inside is that way too and will want to inspect it or something lol
That is really neat about the ****er spaniel for your parents.
Im sure they will enjoy it.
Tami: thanks again for the reminder about the prenatals. When I am out of what I have I think I will start using them instead of all these pills. I have a handful now it seems.
Barbara T: How wonderful to hear from you. You must get so busy that you just forget about us. I really miss you when you aren't on here. Sounds like you are doing really good with your b/p down and the weight down and to be with a good man for that long is one great gift from God you know. Sounds like he is blessing your life a lot. Seems that all my August surgery buddies have gotten jobs and have been so busy that they don't have a lot of time to post if ever.
Well im going to get this posted since it is already 6am and im sure someone is wondering where in the world is the Whats Happening Thread. I was so tired last night that I couldn't stay awake to midnight to post.
LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS.
JAN
Okay...now here's the second part of my post...lol
JAN...I have never had to pull a gun to protect myself or others but unfortunately I have had 4 pointed at me over the years. Twice while I worked in convenience stores in CA, once while driving a city bus and once from an ex-boyfriend. I pray that I never go through any of that again...being on either end of a weapon!
Girl, I got a spring fever thing going like never before! I'm ready to start wading through the mud to get started! It will be here soon enough and I try to stay busy cleaning house.
Yes, I know I don't have my new pic up but I got busy yesterday and forgot!
JAN....I know all about the gun cabinet and the rules that apply. My step father in law had one but once while they were away someone broke into their home and took some! Not a good thing! When we started buying guns, I told David I wanted a safe! I knew that our kids had been taught all about guns and gun safety but like you said...the kids nowadays don't seem to care about the rules! Besides, our kids may of known the rules about weapons/guns but who's to say that the kids coming into our home knew them! I have seen to many stories on TV about accidental shootings where kids had access to guns and someone got hurt or killed because of it and ususally it was the kid that had been taught the rules that got shot! They would be dared to show the guns and when they gave in, they'd end up getting shot by the kid that didn't have an understanding of guns and the extreme safety needed around them!
Okay, getting off the soapbox on that one!...lol
Glad you loved the story of the attack mouse! So many have enjoyed that one!!...lol Now they tell me "YOUR A REDNECK WHEN??" ...lol David says he was just thankful that I went for the BB gun instead of the 12 gauge! ...lol He's so funny!
As for the yoga pants. I love them, I also like the pilates pants. Good to wear all the time...very bendable! They wear good whether your big or small.
As for the blender...yea, you gotta break down every once in awhile and buy a new one. Sounds like you got a great deal through! Sounds like the old one got used a lot!
JAN...can you send me a copy of the cauliflower casserole that you got from Lana. It sounded really good! LANA, if your looking you can see it too me if you have it handy...just please leave out the hair...okay? ...lol We love you hun, we are just ornery!
Has anyone heard from Andrew and Susan? They haven't been on like in forever....did they go somewhere and I missed it?
Barb S... I'm so glad your back! I know you have a lot on your plate right now and I just wanted you to know that I'm thinking about you, praying for you and your family!
All those in Need are Getting Prayed for!!...Love & Prayers...Deb M
Good morning - just a quick check in before I get started at work. Thanks goodness the sun is out today and that wind has quit blowing.
Today is my 3rd day back to work and I'm feeling it. I'm so tired. My port incision came open a little bit on the side that was still closed yesterday so I called the nurse. Dr. Edwards wanted me to come in (I didn't get to see him when I went in Tuesday). Thankfully, he believes it to be superficial and thinks it will heal fine. Wants me to clean it out with 1/2 peroxide 2x a day and put me on a week of antibiotics as a precaution, then I go back next week for him to check. I'm thankful he's keeping an eye on it. I can't get a fill until this thing heals up, which means after the swelling goes down my stomach will be back to the normal size!
We have to take our little guy to a birthday party tomorrow. It's at a stable and he's so excited.
Danielle, hope you have a great appointment today and that scale brings a smile to your face!
I better get started to work. Everyone have a good Friday!
Good morning Jan and board, I think the week ender would a great fun thing to do, I am all for it..well I steped on the scales this morning and nothing happened this week, now I am beginning to think did I go thru all this for nothing.. I am getting my protein and water in, walking all I can, dont know what the problem is..oh well so much for my complaining....Vesta
Hello Missouri,
Well, Wednesday night the Rain Sirens went off in Nixa from 4:30 to almost 5:30. I woke up and the wind wasn't even blowing. Then of course I couldn't really get back to sleep. I know they have to put them on when a warning comes out and I guess they are county-wide because the storm was sure not in North Christian County. I'm a real scaredy cat but that time didn't even scare me at all.
The Prednisone has really helped my pain. I knew it would but was trying to hold out. I go with DD and DGS to St. Louis for his leg surgery on the 20th and I decided I had to have relief in order to be any help to them.
I got the replacement for the Cauliflower wig yesterday. I don't have the recipe with me so Jan if you want to post it go ahead. It was from USA Today and is called Crispy Cauliflower. I Googled it for Jan because I lost my recipe. It is really good, I think.
I have also had spring fever. Want to get my closet cleaned out. I can't sell or give away much until my DD can come down and decide what she wants to take home for herself. I think I'll just take them out of my closet and put them in stacks on the floor of our second spare room so I can feel like I accomplished something.
I'd love to come to a statewide weekend. Maybe somewhere up around the Lake of the Ozarks. That is pretty much in the center of the state I think. I don't know anything about the area up there, haven't lived in Missouri long enough to learn about it. Maybe someone from that area would have some ideas. I'd definitely want a place that had cabins, I don't have a camper or tent!!!
Hugs and love to all,
Lana
TGIF Jan and OH Peeps~
So glad its Friday...not sure why tho-LOL...the kids have half day today and so I will wait for them to get home and then run my errands. My daughter (16) has a job interview today where her sister works. I am sure she has the job and the boss said he would work them together, so my oldest will stop and pick her up and drop her off-and I will just pay for gas....thats so awesome..I wont have to run back and forth to town 2 times each night..yeah.
My back still hurts. I called the Dr. yesterday and his nurse is talking about a biopsy right there in the office-and I am like-WAIT A MINUTE....what do you THINK this is? I thought it was pulled muscle or some sort of jumbled muscle mass....he gave me some very light pain meds-but no muscle relaxers, think he was gonna wait until he knew for sure what he was dealing with. This WHOLE week my stomach hurts. Like I got punched in it or something like that. It feels VERY achey...not sure what to compare it to-maybe how you feel when you have been heeving badly for a day or so then it just plain hurts? Has anyone ever had that before? I am taking tylenol 3, so its not got any ibuprofen or anything in it! Who knows?
I would love for us all to get together, not sure about the central location...I think no matter where we would have it-some people just are not gonna be able to come, you know? I dont mean that rudely-but I am not sure where we could go that would be more equal for everyone...how many do we have further north? I think a majority of us are closer to swmo or further east....arent we? heck-I dont know where anyone is, but what about a campground around Branson or Kimberling City that would be right on the lake so whomever has boats or whatever could bring them as well? Then we can each get our sites, whether its tents or RVs and we can all bring our food and just BBQ-do you think thats too far? I would be willing to do some investigating as to the sites and costs. There is also Roaring River park where you can camp-and fish. We also go to Stockton Lake alot and they have a lot of sites AND they can be reserved as well-plus they have covered dock for fishing and places to put your boat in the water right there. They also have a floating cafe and a little store-and pontoon rentals, boat rentals etc....Just let me know what you think-ok? For those that didnt want to stay overnite, they could come for the day and spend the day with us....and we can swim or whatever too! I think that sounds like soooo much fun. We definitely have the land for campers and tents-but with planning the wedding etc I dont see me being able to get all this ready for a big get together-will have to run brush hog etc...so I dont want to commit to that!!! I really would like to have a pool party BBQ sometime this summer, but I will have to see how this whole wedding planning and all goes.
It looks a little brighter outside than it was yesterday-but the sun isnt "shining" I just hope its a little warmer so I can take the little guy out and try to get some walking in today. I am going to my moms place when the kids get out of 1/2 day of school and we are walking to the treehouse (its a store that sells discounted levis etc) and I am FINALLY going to see what sz I am officially. I am so scared-but excited at the same time! I hope everyone has a good Friday-is in good health-and is safe...tt you soon. Love, Jan
