Good Morning, OH-ers!

Well, I'm back from visiting my son, daughter-in-law, and grandson in California. It was a fantastic 10-day visit. I really had a great time and spent all day Friday, Feb. 23, at Disneyland--was able to walk everywhere and wasn't winded. We got to Disneyland at 10:00 a.m. when they opened and left at 11:15 p.m. to head to my son's house. I couldn't believe I walked that much! I have some news that is going to shock everyone. My husband and I are moving to Temple, Texas. Rick got a job as Plant Manager of a feed mill there--that's the kind of work he did before he retired here in Missouri. He has really missed the business and this opportunity came up while I was in California and we did a lot of cell phone talking and decided to move. He has to be at work next Monday, March 5, so we will be heading to Texas early Saturday morning. We'll live in our motorhome until I can find us either a house or an apartment to move into. We are going to have a moving sale and get rid of a lot of our stuff--including 'fat' clothes of mine--and then rent our home out until we're sure this is where we are going to stay. If we like the area and want to stay, then we'll probably sell our home. We both are really excited about this new adventure. I have lost 115# so far. I've only got 23# left before I'm in 'onderland'! I finally started losing weight again and it's dropping fast. I didn't think it would ever start up again. I sort of set still for about a month and now it's like it was at first. Of course, the walking is helping and so is the taking of vitamins again and upping the protein drinks. I feel absolutely wonderful. Better get going. I've got lots of things to get done before we leave this weekend. Oh, by the way, my email address won't work after Friday, March 1, so please don't send any emails to me after then. I'll let everyone know my new address when we get settled and I get the computer to Texas and get internet service again. Everyone hang in there and keep on losing! I may move to Texas, but I'll still be a Missouri OH'er!!! Love to all and God bless each of you, Linda

Linda, I'm excited for you. Your plan to just rent or motorhome for awhile is a good one. If you don't like the area or the job you can just come home, but you may love it. My ex-husband's extended family was from Temple, TX, but we never visited there. It will sure be warmer than Missouri. It is exciting to just step out boldly to a new area. My hubby and I moved from California to Las Vegas and lived there for five years and then moved to Nixa 2 1/2 years ago. I'd move again if that was what he wanted to do. I just think it stimulates my mind. However, I don't want to leave Missouri ever and he doesn't either except when it's cold and nasty like it's been lately. We're just getting too old to take off again and we'd probably never find a house we love as much as the one we're in now. Glad you had fun at Disneyland. I love that place. It truly is the happiest place on earth. I just told DH the other day that I wanted to go to Disney World soon. Hugs and best wishes, Lana

How exciting!!! I moved while still losing weight too...from CA to MO. One thing that was odd was folks didn't know I'd been big before. The experience is completely different. No one is shcoked when you bump into them after not having seen them for 6 mos. lol Everyone is new. Have a GREAT trip there and I hope all your expectations are met. I love change like that!!! This COLD winter has had us talking about how great it'd be to move to a warmer place again. If we had no kids in school, we would! Best wishes!!! Tami
