I got my surgery DATE!!!!

Hi all. I got my surgery date. It's March 12!! I'm soooo excited, as I'm sure you ALL know. I went to MBS today with a friend, for her appt., and asked if I could go ahead and schedule my last appt. with Dr.de la Torre and when I left they gave me my surgery date also. I am so psyched! That is wonderful!!!! I am just getting started geting info for the same Dr. How long did it take you to complete your packet and appointments?

I started last August but things went unusally slow for me due to other problems. My pcp didn't include all the info needed in my letter and had to rewrite it 3 times. Silly stuff like that. My friend went to the first seminar last month. She already submitted her packet, letter from pcp and psych eval. She had her first appt. with my Dr. today. They are going to submit her for insurance approval, schedule her PFT, then all she'll have to do is the Option B seminar. I imagine that she could have her surgery set up for April at this rate. She is getting accomplished in a few months what it took me 8 months to do. ( But she has learned from my experiences etc.) If you need any more advice or have any questions just let me know. Melissa, That is soooooo awesome. You don't have ages to wait and obsess. I got my date about a month before surgery and was so excited that I didn't have to wait months. I had to do a six month diet and exercise program but that officially ended 12/16/06 and I had surgery ten days later. You are going to be so happy with the results of your surgery.
