Fasting before Assessment?????

Hi, Everybody: It's me again. My assessment is tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m. Was just going thru the paperwork again and found nothing that mentioned I had to fast before the appointment. Is this correct? Did any of you have to fast before your assessment? Sorry to bother everybody again, guess I'm getting anxious to have this assessment over with. Please be patient with me. Hey Debbie D. Please let us know about your assessment. I can only tell you how it went with my tests, but most required me to not eat anything after midnight, prior to the test. What kind of test are you having tomorrow? Have a super safe trip. Thank you for bailey's prayers. He seems to be feeling better. We will hear what the pathology tests have to say this week. Be safe and come back and tell us all that you made it back okay. Bai and I are saying a lil prayer for you right now.

Hi, Sherr: The blue packet says "Lab, X-Ray, EKG, Health History and consultation with the Anesthesia Doctor". No where in the paperwork does it say I have to fast before this assessment. I noticed you had a different doctor so maybe each doctor is different? Hopefully, one of Dr. H's patients who went thru the Assessment will let me know before I leave tomorrow. Otherwise, I'm going to eat breakfast. I'm glad Bailey is feeling better. Will continue to pray you get good news this week and that the tumor was benign. I know how much you love your poodles, I love my little one too! I will post when I get home tomorrow night. I am also having them draw 2 pints of blood just in case I need a blood transfusion. They can only draw 1 pint at at time so I will have one drawn tomorrow then I go back a week from tomorrow on the 26th to have the 2nd one drawn. Hopefully I won't need it but want to be on the safe side. Thanks for all your help!! Debbie D.

Debbie, Don't know for sure but I would not think you would have to. Also I don't remember if you gave me you last name. I will need that the day of surgery.I wish mine was as close as yours , but since I haven't moved yet this is a good thing. Take care . Julia

Debbie no i didnt fast before the assesment. wasnt required . mostly the lab test are to type and crossmatch you for your blood and to see if you are anemic i think dont know what else they test for. Now unless they have changed it. i just looked in my book and it doesnt say fast. just wanted to check and be sure. Jan
