Melissa and Marilyn, Thanks for that tip on the vials, it sure will help on the pocket book along with vitamins etc. Funny, I was wondering about the milk. I think I will try it as well. I was just getting ready to order the vials since they are on sale right now, so I'll get the milk too. I just want to have everything purchased before the surgery. Melissa, I will share your info with my sister too. she is having the sleeve the day after my rny. Hugz to you both and God Bless you Charlotte kid4ever

If I use too much splenda, it upsets my stomach. It is made from sugar, so maybe that is why. In my drinks or food I try to mix nutrasweet with it. Try it slowly, not everyone is the same.

Monique, Thanks for your help. What type of surgery did you have and when? And how are you doing with it? Thanks again! Charlotte kid4ever

Hi Charlotte, I use splenda occasionally-but only splenda for baking-but for my coffee or whatever, I have found Nutra Taste and I get it at Dillons/gerbers etc for 1/2 the price of Splenda and it tastes as good. I had RNY on Nov 29th and I have lost a total of 97# with 44 of that before surgery. I suspect the scale will start moving again this week since this past week was my "female" week!! LOL- I have done the whey vials-orange-and it was good-but very sweet and the after taste gagged me silly! Its not funny-but I would say 90% of what I have tried has had that affect on me! I dont like ANY soy protein and stick with my optimum nutrition 100% instantized whey gold standard-the strawberry or vanilla-and always feel like I am drinking some sort of special milk or shake. Some dont like it, but a lot of people do! At least I dont have to plug my nose and choke it down! I agree w/Vesta that the 1st month (or two for me) was the worst-just trying to find your groove-and it was hard for me, because a lot of the things on our list to eat after 2 weeks made me dump.....so it got frustrating, but I can say now its been almost 3 months and now that I know the signs and all of that-it gets easier everyday...there are still days where it doesnt go so good, but they are few and far between at least. Its all worth it when the scale moves and the clothes dont fit that used to be too tight-or every single time I have a milestone and cross it off my list-made it all worth it. My surgeon said it best...its like getting aquinted (sp?) with a newborn baby (your new stomach) and it takes a little time...so be patient (which patience isnt a virtue I USED to have-LOL) I wish you and your sis the best of luck....the ride is almost over!! Love, Jan

Janet, Wow! Congratulations on your weight loss! I appreciate your input and honesty. It is important to me to hear other's stories because it will certainly help me to know what I may be looking at. It is one thing to hear it from the Dr. but realy nice to hear it first hand from the people who have been through it. Thanks for your best wishes. You said the ride is almost over? I love rides so the faster the better. Sixty and still love roller coasters! LOL Hugz! Charlotte kid4ever PS Where is your photo? I would love to put your name with a face.
