WHATS HAPPENING THURSDAY

Wednesday was so sunny but very deceiving wasn't it? Looked nice but was so cold and windy . When we came out of the health club I about froze to death before I got to the truck. Joe was already out there and had it started up which I was sure glad of. The warmth felt so good. We really had a good work out in the water aerobics. I push myself to do more than she is showing so I can get the maximum benefit from it. Today we focused more on the abdominal muscles and the legs. My stomach tonight is sore. Didn't know that doing exercises in the water would make you sore , I thought the water kept that from happening. Don't ask me why I thought that but I did. Well I planted 120 more seeds of inpatients and 60 moss rose seeds. You talk about little seeds these are so tiny that it is almost impossible to see them. I have to use a pair of tweezers to plant them. I hope I got the seeds in the right spots. Lol Julia: Im about like you with wanting to stay inside during all this cold weather. I can barely stand it running from the house to the truck when we have to go somewhere and I make Joe go start it up and get it warm before I go out. So glad you got your car running again. That takes a big problem off your shoulders now if you can just get your place to move to. Will Dr. Hornbostel release you to have Knee surgery so soon after having gastric bypass. When I talked to him about my knees he didn't act like it would be a good idea to have surgery on my knees yet. That is too bad to have bad memories associated with Valentines day. Makes it hard to not be a little sad and not enjoy the day like you should. The tomatoes were really good. Tasted like summer. Melissa: I hope you had a great Valentine day and you and Terry celebrated your anniversary in style. The move sounds like it is coming along very well and don't like a lot of stuff yet. You seem to have it all going in the right direction. Tammy H: I certainly hope the roads hold up for you and your trip to Columbia. That is a long way to drive for sure. But will be worth the effort when you have surgery. Welcome to my post and hope you keep coming and let us know how your journey to weight loss is coming along. If any of us can answer your questions we will certainly try for sure. Rachael: that has to be less than pleasant to try and work after the week you have had with no sleep. Sounds like your mom is doing great. That would be a great job for she and your dad wouldn't it? I have always thought that would be a neat job to do. What ever your personal struggles are you know you are in my prayers that God will grant you wisdom to know how to deal with it. Janet: I totally understand your knee pain , is yours in one knee or both? Yeah I had the shots in the knees. It helped a lot as I was unable to walk without a cane but didn't totally get rid of all pain . I will be able to get more shots in them in April. Hope the kiddos are doing better now, and you have gotten some sleep. Vesta: Cabin fever? That is what is wrong with all of us? That makes sense. I feel like I have been locked up for sure. Hey the one plant seeds you gave me are already coming up but the big black seeds haven't come up yet. Am anxious for them to grow. Tami? No the jeans I bought are low rise , boot cut , stretch jeans. Lol I know what you mean about the fit of things now compared to 20 years ago. Totally differend ball game. Debbie D: well I have you marked down on my calendar. So I wont forget it. The tomatoes were good . You probably just have never had the time to devote to planting an caring for a garden. Kids take a lot of care of their own and it is hard to get a garden fit in there too. The trip to the lake of the Ozarks sounds like a great trip. Have fun and don't really worry about the food , after surgery you will finally realize that food has been replaced as the most important thing in your life . Just seems funny now I go to a function and there will be great food all around and none of it really tempts me at all. Like I said before welcome and hope you find the answers you are looking for. LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS JAN

Oh, Benny, It's so good to see you on the board. Fifty pounds is wonderful. Losing on your own is hard and keeping it off harder but I know you feel so much more energetic with that much weight gone. Keep talking to us, we care about you and will keep your mom in our prayers. Lana

Hi Jan and MO Peeps~ Will this weather EVER WARM UP? My hubby has had 2 job offers in the past 2 weeks, one in New Jersey and the other in Chicago-told him last night IF he got one to Hawaii-take it, then come home and tell me were moving-LOL... Steph went to school today-first day this week-but still has laryngitis. Temp is better. Jon is worse~the medicine I have been giving him has been working for his symptoms, but I am not convinced the worst is over yet-darn it! He is sleeping though, so thats a plus-and steph slept ok last night ONCE she got to sleep-now its just me, worried about them and up and down all night checking on them and then while I am up trying to take turns with hubby to keep the fireplace going. The knees-well, I was diagnosed when I was 4 with arthritis and havent had any knee caps since I was 32-they have been eaten away with arthritis-so its both. I had been on Oxycontin and Vicodin for 6 years and went off everything (very SLOWLY) to have the WLS....I had appt to go see my ortho dr and get the knees replaced in June, until I saw my surgeon and she said NO WAY....the last syn visk series NEVER even helped like the first 2 sets-and so dr said I am pretty much just going to have to deal with this until I get them done. The arthritis (stage IV) spread to my hips and lower back before wls and I was pretty much a vegetable...now that I CANT sit around anymore, I sure feel it....On top of that, I have Degenerative Joint Disease and I come from a long history of bone and joint problems in my family. My younger brother has already had one knee replaced AND back surgery....and he isnt obese. Got to see Mel and Terry yesterday for a minute, gave them their anniversary card and present-and then she gave me a BAG of candy for EACH child-HOLY COW...I thought I was going to get diabetes just looking at ALL the candy in the bags-the kids were extremely happy~they dont get that much candy when they trick or treat-LOL~ All I can say, is that pay back is going to be soooooo sweet~and they cant say anything when I do this for their child-cause its all fair play now!~ I guess the one bright side to all of it-is that I didnt even have an urge to have one piece of the candy and would have eaten some before surgery!!! Benny, your mom, you and the family are in our thoughts and prayers. Please know we are praying for all of you~ Also saying prayers for Tammy for a safe trip to Columbia today-that drive is no fun when the roads are good....and then for Dannielle, for a safe and speedy recovery! Welcome to the losers bench Dannielle. Well, gotta go-little guy is wanting me to go and sit by him....Will talk to you all later. Love, Jan

Hi, Missouri Peeps! Well, it's been a long day. Our old Pastor's middle daughter (Becca age 19) left for her mission trip to Africa today. Please pray for her and the rest of her team. They were suppose to leave January 12th, however, their Visa's were held up and they didn't leave until this morning. The boys and I went to the airport to see her off. I have know her and her family for over 10 years now and she feels like she is one of my own. She will return home May 13th. I already miss her! After she got on the plane the boys and I took the dogs to the vet for their annual shots. I figured since the boys were home from school today so we could see Becca off, I decided they could help me take the dogs into the vet. Ginger weighs around 85 lbs and Precious is 5 lbs. I can handle Precious and Ginger is a gental giant, however, I am not strong enough to hold her on the lead. Then since David and Jake are going on an aviation camp out this weekend in Omaha, NE I took the truck into the shop for an oil change. (It was way past due.) I finally got home around 4:30 and I am totally wiped out. Was going to go to Bible Study tonight but I called and cancelled, just too tired. It was and is sooooooooo cold out there. It was 8 degrees when we left this morning. When I returned home at 4:30 it was 14 degrees. I am more than ready for Spring to get here! Jan, thanks for putting my date on your calendar. I think you are right, I will find things to do with my life besides eat. Will probably amaze me just how well I can do without eating so much. I am ready. I need to purchase more chewable vitamins and calcium supplements. Will try and do that this weekend. Hope everyone had a good Thursday and enjoys Friday and the weekend. Debbie D.

hello everyone, Glad to see everyone is keeping warm. This cold weather is really something, and the snow too. Luckily we have not lost power and can stay warm both at home and at work. I am so ready for the warmer weather. Your plants sound grand Jan. I cant wait to eat a fresh tomatoe from the garden. Not much news here, just busy, busy and more busy. Holding down the fort at work as my boss is off on vacation. Will be back soon. My daughter brought me a shopping bag ffull of jewelry beads at Christmas (she did not want them any more) so I decided to make a valentine necklace for each of our residents at the nursing home. So the past week I worked on them at home after work and completed 41 of them before valentines. Some were all colors and some were designs with just 2 or 3 colors and each had a heart at the bottom of the beads. Their eyes just got so wide when I told them I had a special gift for them on Valentines day. Some of them dont get many beads. They are still wearing them. Just wanted to say hello . We will be having our first support meeting on the 26th. Hope we have a good turnout. Colette
