well just got back from Sedalia, the roads was not to bad, I got in early so we could get home before to late, we expected snow, but made it home fine...I have lost a total of 24 pds since surgery, I was expecting maybe a little more....lol He said I could have hamburger now and cooked veg. the nurse said remember your tummy is the size of an egg. An egg is about the size of a 1/4 cup right? can we live on 1/4 cup 3 times aday with protein in between meals... give me some input on how much you all have? Dr. H said in March I could be on regular diet.....I didnt get to see Marilyn because I got there early....tks Vesta

Vesta, I did not make it in because I had and appointment at work that I could not reschedule and I did not realize the time conflict until today. (State auditor) Anyway, I could not get another appointment until March 6th - three more weeks. I may call you tonight and see what else we get to eat now ;) Hugs, Marilyn

Hi Vesta, glad your trip went well. I never even walked outside today. Just couldn't even bring myself to get the mail. Congrats on the weight loss. Everyone loses at their own speed. You are doing great. Remember that is 24# you will never see again!!Take care. Julia

Congrats Vesta on your loss. Just think, you would not have ever lost that much in such a short time period.... Stay warm and best of luck with the next phase. Tara

Vesta, We absolutely can live on 1/4 cup of food three times a day as long as we remember protein first, then veggies. Sometimes the veggies taste so good to me I have to slap my hand and make it eat protein first. I have a shake at 7am, a scrambled egg with shredded cheese at 8:30, lunch (chili or meat) at noon, a piece of protein bar at about 3, dinner (meat and veggie) at 6, and SF jello w/SF Cool Whip at bedtime. This, of course varies some, I eat cottage cheese alot, it always tastes wonderful to me and is a good source of protein. I am eating a very limited diet, but it's what I want. I just realized today that I could make deviled eggs and have two halves for lunch so that is another variant I will try. I keep the meats saucy, with gravy made from the powdered mixes or salsa. I have not dumped at all and only had one real episode of vomiting, and that was from broccoli in a restaurant that wasn't cooked limp enough. Your surgery was nearly two weeks after mine and I've lost 25 pounds so I think you are doing great. Just drink lots of water and eat carefully. We have to do this for the rest of our lives so we might as well get it implanted into our brains now. I can tell you that nothing I have ever eaten in the past tastes as good as pulling on a new pair of Levi's in a regular 16 this morning. Keep your eye on the prize of a new healthy active life and don't eat much. You, like me, have plenty of fat to live on for awhile!!!!! Hugs and love, Lana
