Need advice
HI everyone, I haven't posted in a while, very busy...my surg is Monday as you know. I was wondering, since I am on this two week fluid "special diet" is it ok to have cottage cheese or applesauce? I was looking at my papers and it says its ok after the initial two week period following surg? Since I am allowed pudding during this time what would it hurt. I will wait for you input before I start. Thanks, Tara.
Hi Tara,
Good to see you~Well, I was not allowed to have even the pudding when I was on my liquid/protein diet beforehand, so you get something we didnt get! My diet consisted of basically the same thing as the week after surgery except for the shakes...You may call the dietician in your surgeons office and ask-I hate to tell you to do something and have it be the wrong answer. The only thing I did do was chew some sunflower seeds (shelled) and spit them out....I needed chewing-but I did tell them I was doing that too-
Good luck, sweety-just a couple of more days and this stage will be over and you will be on the bench with us! Congrats and take care. Love, Jan
Tara I dont know either so wont give you the go ahead to do it. Call your surgeons office is all i can tell you really. Just think next week at this time you will be thur with the surgery and be here on the "other side" lol you can do anything to accomplish this cant you? Is someone going to report to us how you are doing after your surgery?
Jan
Tara, if you e-mail Mary at Dr. Edward's office, she's very fast to get back to you. I e-mailed her to ask about fruit in a protein shake (for a smoothie) and tomato soup (which are both okay, bu****ch the carbs she said).
I have my surgery Monday as well. Have they given you a time? Mary said they'd call me Friday w/a time. Maybe I'll see you at the hospital!
Thank you, I might just do that, she is usually so busy, I did not even think of emailing her, good idea.
Yes we should plan to meet eachother while we are there. I am suppose to call Jo in Dr E. office on Friday to get my time.
I looked at your profile, we both have daschunds. Mine are on my profile also.
I wish you the best Monday, Tara
Yes, we have two doxies - they are brothers and about to turn a year old. We got them last May. They are fun and my 4 year old son loves them and they him. Let me know Friday what time they tell you and I'll do the same. I'm having lap-band so mine will be outpatient - don't know if we'll be in the same area or not but I'd love to meet you.
You so right, this is hard...could you hear my whine? I sure hope post op I feel full. With such a reduction in pouch size, I hope it is a little easier...it will all be over soon, and all worth it, like you say. Thanks. I just looked at your profile, you are doing GREAT!! Congrats. Stay in touch, Tara
