Liquid Diet

Any tips on getting through the liquid diet stage? I started last Thursday and was supposed to do liquids for 2 meals and 1 small meal a day for a week, then move to all liquids. Well, I got my approval and we went ahead and scheduled for next Monday so today I started on my full liquids. It's HARD! I'm hungry and it's probably head hunger. It wasn't as bad when I knew I could eat something. Any suggestions on making this week go a little easier? I guess the bright side is that I didn't have to do it for the full two weeks.

Debbie, What really helped me was taking Campbell's soups and draining the broth/juice from them instead of trying to drink that pure Swanson's broth. The soup broth seemed so much tastier. I also made my own Chicken vegetable soup, onions, carrots, celery, potatoes, the whole nine yards and then just ate the broth part of that. Again, it seemed more satisfying. It is kind of hard but you can drink anytime you want to, don't have to wait until mealtimes. I lost 15 pounds during the 2 weeks so that made it pretty worthwhile. Also, Dr. Edwards said I had a beautiful liver - he's a sick man!!! Sugar free popcicles, sugar free jello - those are clear liquids. I also had protein shakes sometimes. After the first couple of days I got over the head hunger and then it was easier. And - needless to say, it is sooooo worth it. You'll look back and wonder what the big deal was about a liquid diet when you've lost and are looking and feeling so much better. Keep your *****s) up. It will be over before you know it!!! Keep posting, venting does help. Hugs and love, Lana

Debbie I also did the hot & sour soup, & egg drop soup. I just drained off all the goodies in it. I use any sugarfree koolaide and blend it with ice and make slushies. Something I could actually crunch on. I chewed the devil out of gum also & hard SF candies. I hope this helps I know it isnt fun. I was on total liquid diet for 8 weeks. Booo!! Good luck and let us know how you are doing. God Bless Melisssa

Thanks for the suggestions. That hot & sour soup actually sounds pretty good, especially today w/that wind blowing so hard out there. What about tomato soup, is that okay?
