My surgery date is April 24th. I am sooo excited to get approved and have a date. I am waiting to get the schedule for my pre-op so I can get started on the yummy liquid diet. I am getting ready to try a few protein drinks to get started and if anyone has any ideas of what tastes best.... please let me know. I am having my surgery in Sedalia with Dr. Hornbostel. All I can say is....

Ginger
welcome to the Missouri Board Ginger. Glad to have you. The protein powder i use is "ON" 100%Whey protein Powder in the Black label. I use the Vanilla Ice Cream flavor so i can change it around and make what ever flavor i like. Right now i am on a kick of frozen peaches and soy milk with the protein powder in my blender to make a smoothy. I am having 2 of those a day that makes me get 60 grams of my protein in for the day and then the rest i do food.
Here in Springfield you can buy it at Food 4 Less but you can get it at GNC and there is an online place to buy it too. Jan
Mine is scheduled on Feb. 19 in Springfield w/Dr. Edwards. I had to get mine in before 3/1 because effective then our insurance will be excluding weightloss surgery. I guess I count myself fortunate because the exclusion was supposed to be 1/1/07 but the GM was kind enough to extend it to 3/1/07 for me.
Yes, we have 2 - they'll be a year old this month. They're a lot of fun. I had a female when I was single. She adjusted when I got married and tolerated when I had our son. But she was older by then and wouldn't play w/him. We had to put her asleep last March because of a tumor. Anyway, we got "the boys" in May. Our son has truly enjoyed them. How old is yours?
Good luck w/your surgery. I'll be checking on you.
Heya Ginger, Congrats on getting your surgery date, you'll be in great hands with Dr. H, keep us updated on how your doing and all.
I had family that lived in Bonner Springs, great lil town. My grandmother was one of the first to move into the senior citizen high rise and had and aunt and uncle that lived at Lake of the Forest, all of em have passed on now but I still remember the town cuz when I was a kid we'd spend every thanksgiving there.
Take Care,
Andrew
