What a day this was! My husband and I met with the dr. for the 1st time. We both felt very positive and informed when we left, but my goodness! What a bunch of tests to go thru. I was hoping for a March surgery date but boy! was I ever optimistic? My next dr. appt is Mar 5, between now and then I have 3 more tests to get done here before I go back to Paducah. But I'm rollin'! Here we go!

Jane, That's wonderful. Yes I know how you feel. I went to my PCP last fall, seminar with Dr H in November, had consult in January and surgery is April 2nd. And I had all my other consults and workups done prior to the seminar. So it takes a while but when you do get your date you will think time has flown. Take care and best of luck. Julia

Hey Jane, Sometimes there are alot of hoops to jump through before surgery but in the end its all worth it. Esp when you get your health back like I have. I wouldnt think twice about doing it all again. Keep on rollin!! Andrew

Hi Jane~ Congrats on having the consult over with-half the battle is getting that first one under your belt and be on the start of the journey... I understand about all the tests. I actually had some of the things done BEFORE my initial seminar as well-just to find out they were expired as I couldnt get in to get my consult before they were 6 months old-so I had to do a couple of things over. As soon as the frustration of all the tests are over and they clear you for a date-everything changes...It seemed to take FOREVER before the date-and then after I got the date-I didnt have enough time to get my list of things done-LOL...should have been doing while I was waiting with all the tests, huh? Well, Good luck with everything-will be so happy to share the losers bench with you. Love, Jan

Hi Jane!! I'm in the same boat as you are. I"m waiting for my initial appointment with the doctor. Things have gone really fast for me up to now, so I'm honestly expecting something to slow it up a bit. Good for you and nice to meet you!! Richelle

Hi Jane. I know what you mean about being optomistic. I got my insurance approval on 1-022-07. I have hoping to have surgery in March but it doesn't look like that will happen. It took me three weeks to get TWO tests just SCHEDULED. How riduculous. At least you have your next appt. set up. That will give you something to look forward to!!! Congrats. Melissa
