Wow wasn't Monday a beautiful day? So much sunshine and got up to 41 here at my house and I was still cold. I don't know when I will ever get warm again. Does it get better the farther out you are from surgery? I use to be constantly hot and sweating even in the winter most of the time. Wore capris all year round, short sleeve shirts no coat. Now I cant find enough to put on to ever get warm in the first place. I will be looking forward to July and August of this year. Went to Branson yesterday to check out the health club. And it is nice so we will be joining it as soon as my new swim clothes come in. I hope they aren't too big on me . That sounds weird to say. Im use to nothing being too big on me ever. !!! Now there are things toooo big on me Wow!!! I told Joe that it just seems to be so odd it doesn't give you a lot of time to get your mind wrapped around the idea of being smaller when all of a sudden you are. So the brain is still saying fat and you aren't but that is what you see. Also picked up my MRI and x-rays from Branson hospital to take with me to Springfield to see the Ortho doctor up there. I was really surprised they put them on cds now.so instead of having this big envelope of all this stuff you just have a little cd with all of it on there. Gosh you ought to see my spine it sure is crooked. Bends way over to the left. Guess that is why it hurts lol and the reports said that I have severe arthritis in the spine. At least it isn't bone cancer or something. Lol right? Even if it is painful not a lot that can be done about it. Maybe the water aerobics will help some. Julia: sooooo sorry to hear about your car. I know that doesn't help a lot but I will be praying for you and your problems. I do care and know that you have been having a lot of problems lately . Hopefully things will turn around and start getting better soon. Did you hear the Colts Owner and their coach both giving God the glory and praise for the team? I was so impressed that they did that weren't you? Hey you all would be more than welcome to come see my gardens and guest house. I would love that. Would be fun to show you all around. The park with the rose garden gets my vote for the picnic, lol wonder why huh? Melissa: I know you aren't here but spoil them babies and maybe one day soon . Well you know what I mean. Lol Janet: thanks for the compliments I will take all I can get lol. I don't sleep much either but then I never have slept much. My mom use to say that I quit taking naps when I realized that the world didn't all sleep at the same time and I might miss something. Lol So your washing machine lines didn't freeze and burst then huh? That is really good because that is usually what happens when they freeze. That is a neat feeling that my rings don't fit. I think I will get some ring sizers too so I can wear my rings. I hadn't thought of that at all. Duh!! Joe ask me if I wanted to get them cut down and I told him no not yet , not until I sure I am thru losing. I had to laugh at you and the thought of all the big bag of large undies being scattered all over the neighborhood. So funny. Of course it isn't me and no it wouldn't be funny to me either but you have to admit it could have some funny things going on there. Hey that will be great if you can get your mom to come visit us at the support meeting. Would love to meet her. Andrew: How is Susan doing with the pain in her side? Has it let up any with diet and exercise? I am hoping that my back will get better with the water aerobics. My doctor said that she thought it would be good for me but didn't want me doing exercises on machines or stuff like that. She said I had too much arthritis in my spine to stress it like that. So I hope the water aerobics help a lot Cant wait to see you all in March. Will you go to your appointment in Sedalia first and then come here or come here first or what? Doesn't matter but I thought if you are going to go to Sedalia after being here I might send some tomato plants to Julia. Dannielle: How was your trip to Tulsa? Your doctor is the one my Daughter in law used . She thinks he is the very best. Of course I think Doctor Hornbostel is . I guess we all have a sort of a worshipping thing toward our surgeons due to the fact that they saved us from being miserable the rest of our lives. Oh your date Feb 14 is exactly 6 months after my date August 14th. Barbara: As slow as im losing this last 30 pounds it will be 2 years before I lose it that is for sure. Lol Sounds like your husband and son had a busy week end. Those hardwood floors aren't easy to do. Vesta: As far as I can tell you are the only ones with snow. That is weird that it snows in that one little spot isn't it? I agree I too have cabin fever and it is too cold to go walking . Sherr: Wow you sure have some pretty clothes to sell. If I worn any of those sizes I would snatch them up . Sorry your puppy is sick. Is he any better now than he was? Wow those pains you are having for yourself sounds like that might be serious so you really need to see about it don't you think? Yeah Melissa sure has changed a lot hasn't she but so have you and I and several other people. Lana: you are doing so good on exercising and everything , Great that you are now in ONDERLAND. That is great isn't it? Debbie: great to see you up and at them . So you haven't even gotten any fill at all when you had the surgery? So how is it restricting your volume of food . I am envisioning your spider plants on your porch. That was pretty I bet. Im glad that you let your family know about the surgery. At least now they cant try to talk you out of it can they? Tell Wyno to stop screeching I have a headache too. Lol To everyone that told me what they wanted in Tomato plants I will try my best to get you that.and will bring them to the meeting lol. You will still have to keep them inside and baby them along for awhile but if you have a nice sunny window they will like that. Then you can put them out around the first of May. Im going to post this Monday night cause I am really tired and the way I feel I might not wake up to get it posted at midnight. Lol Love all of you. LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS JAN

Hi all, Thought I'd take time before bed to see how all of you are. I have a headache which I know is stress!!!But I am going to take a long hot bath and relax before I hit the sheets. Jan you must of had all the sunshine today. I didn't get any that I was aware of.I also lost one of my favorite gloves today, I tell you if it isn't one thing it's another. That would be great if Andrew could bring some plants up when he sees Dr. H. But don't go out of your way Susan and Andrew, I can always wait a while and take a nice relaxing trip. Lord knows I need it, and then pick some up if Jan has them. Take care everyone. Julia

Good Evening, Morning....whatever it may be Jan.. with just the lap band being put on it closes off a lot of the old stomach. The fills are for fine tuning the band...no pun intended...lol When they (patient/doc) work together to find just the right spot where the patient can eat healthy yet still be able to lose weight! Wyno is a strange little creature...lol I'm thinking about taping her and send it to American's Funniest Videos Yes, my porch looked pretty with all those bushy boston ferns and spiders, lets not forget the gardenias and fushia! I have decided that my front porch will be my first project this spring...anything past that, we will see, maybe the center of the circle drive too.. Thats where a lot of the mums would go that and along my flowerbeds along the front of the house. As for the family, it's not all of them, just a couple of don't think I have enough faith in God, to wait for Him to heal me. I have waited most of my life over this weight being gone and the prayers led to Dr. Hornbostel....he's not God, but his heart is! Besides, they know when I set my mind on something, no one but God will change it! Man!!! It's not spring yet??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!...lol Have a great day everyone and BE BLESSED!!! Deb M

Good morning.....I THINK....... I thought I would let you all know that I had to make another trip to the ER yesterday with my little girl.....her fever shot back up and she is a sick baby.....We got there at 145pm and a doctor did not even come in the room to see her until 8pm.... Turns out she has a bad case of bacterial pneumonia and they gave her a shot in the rump, oral antibiotics and she is on breathing treatments every 6 hours....at this point I have had about 2 hours of sleep and can bearly type to everyone.... Well I better go so I can get a little bit of shut eye before she wakes up.....and the breathing treatments start in.....I may be on and off here occasionally today....I am keeping my son home today because I could not pick him up from my parents until after midnight and he only slept about an hour at my parents because he was worried about his sister..... God bless and hope everyone has a greatly blessed day Rachael

Momma J & Gang: Gooooood Morning Missouri. Couldn't get puppy into th the vet's. It's a weird situation, my vet of nearly 40 years, died suddenly the week before Christmas. He had an "assistant" that had been with him for 30 of those years, and she is smart as a whip. When I called her (((she still has the grooming side of the business open)))) all frantic and not knowing what to do...she said, "Oh hon...Bailey is dear to me....bring him and let me look at him "as friends" since I am not licensed, I can not administer "behind the locked cabinet" type meds, but friendly advice is FREE. That was last week....she was able to give me some antibiotics, but my little fur baby is not doing any better. It's been a week and a day. I called all day long yesterday, and she never came in. She was like all of us. His sudden death (he was 89) floored us all. He worked the day he died even. Went to bed that night and had a massive stroke. I am going to try to get Bailey in today. I have to follow mom out to the Dodge Dealer. Dylan's (son) truck is having some warranty work fixed on his 4x4. He gets to drive a "PIMP RIDE" to school today, as mom loaned him, her Lincoln Navigator.....LOL Mom and I will leave Dylan's truck, and run to Dollar Tree....they have these cookies I've been eating for years, and paying like $5 for, for only a DOLLAR. THey are quarter sized cookie bites, that are sugar free. The Brand is "Joseph's" if you guys have a Dollar Tree. I love them. Tomorrow morning, I moved my doctor's appt. to Thursday, so I can take my poor Dad to the Ortho Surgeon for his one week post op. Mr. Smart Pants thought he was "MAGICALLY HEALED" 4 dqays after surgery, he had mom drive him out to Breakfast at his fav. restaurant, on Saturday WITHOUT a wheel chair, cruches or a cane....So he's been really hurting since then. WHAT A NERD MEN CAN BE!!!! Thanks Momma J. those clothes were my corporate clothes that I had bought right before my last bout in the hospital w/ my heart. It's funny, but...when I was taking pics of the burgundy stuff I actually got sad. I didn't realize how attached I was to my clothing. LOL But I really won't ever need really dressy stuff or business stuff, and I won't need 14-22 sizes either. I am wearing a large top and medium skirt already, but I did keep some of my Ralph Lauren casual stuff, and mom promises she will alter them for me. Whewwww, I had a lot of hot air to blow today xoxo S

Jan; No...being cold does not get better. We just learn to redress. Buy a sweater and keep it handy. I wear mine a lot now. I guess we loose all our "insulation"... Hugs; Barbara in Freeman

Hello Jan and friends, My trip to Tulsa went just fine. I am going back again this morning for a pulmonologist appointment and lab work. Then I go back FRiday for my EDG. I am on Warafin(Coumadin) blood thinners due to my artificial heart valve and I had to switch to Lovanox shots for my surgery-2 times a day. Today was my first shot. It was painless.Thank you God! I was stressed about it. Jan I can't believe it's not even been six months since you've had your surgery. I'm glad we'll be marking our milestones on the same day of the months. Well I need to hop in the shower and hit the highway. Take care veryone and have a blessed day!! Dannielle

Good Morning Ya'll, Jan like Julia said YOU must of hogged all the sunshine yesturday lol it was cloudy here all day, the sun didnt come out at all. It was bitterly cold too bbrrrrrrr. I still have lots of insulation on me yet lol but I got so cold lately. I go around the house wearing a warm sweat shirt which I never used to do, Im a shorts kind of guy in the winter, or used to be lol. Yeah we are gonna go to the support meeting there in march then my appt with Dr. H is on tuesday so we'd be glad to take Julia some plants for ya, np at all. Susan seems to be feeling fine as far as that pain in her side. She hasnt had that in awhile now, since we started excersising and she started eating simular to me the pain has disappeared, PRAISE THE LORD, right now tho she's having a tough time with cravings of snacks and stuff, we both used to be snack a holics, chips, dips, cookies etc. We've found that pork rinds are carb free, trans fat free and very few calories so she snacks on those a bit. Jan you also said that you have trouble eating meats, you at first I didnt have trouble but now its like my stoma(how ever its spelled) shrunk, I cant hardly eat any type of meat without it getting stuck and hurting like all get out. Sometimes I catch myself not chewing enough but most the time I chew and chew and chew and it still just dont go down right, Im like you I stick to the chili type foods and soup, cottage cheese, the protein balls, stuff like that cuz it goes down ok, plus I do 2 protein shakes. Even with the trouble eating I wouldnt change anything for the world, Im so glad God allowed me to have this done cuz I have never felt better, esp since I am off all my meds except 1/2 a bp med which I think soon I'll be off that cuz my bp runs on the normal to low side now. Well anyway I've rattled on enough lol Jan Im glad your gonna get to do some water areobics, hopefully that will help you alot, I wish there was an indoor pool around here. Hope everyone has a wonderful day. Hugs and Prayers, Andrew

'It's like my stoma shrunk" You know Andrew that could be that it IS smaller due to a stricture which is scar tissue build up. As you heal sometimes the scar tissue expands and closes off the paths the food needs to travel so you can get that checked through an EGD if you want to. Have you told your doc about it? I've know several people who have had the proceedure to reduce the stricture and it's quick and worth it. Just thought I'd pass that along incase you weren't aware. Tami
