A Rash?
Heavens to merkatroid...what's next?...lol My belly started itching and no matter how much I rubbed it, it kept itching so I raised my shirt to see my belly and it is covered in a rash! All around my wounds!....why not! Allergic to something I'd say! The one incision site that is twice as big as the others was bleeding a little when I cleaned them this morning, nothing to worry about though. I think the neosporin which is a product that I have used forever might me the culprit! I can't think of anything else to put on the wounds to help with the itching but I better find something quick...this itching is driving me crazy!...okay, crazier! I just want to dig in but if I did....it would be a big uhoh for the wounds so I'm trying real hard to ignore it until I can get something!!
Anyone else have issues with bandaid glue or salve?
Hey Debbie how are you doing? Well this has nothing to do with the rash because I dont have a clue I was just wondering how you are doing and if you ended up having the lap band. I just wanted all the details????? Like is it working? How long in the hospital? When did you have it done???? I was once thinking of having the lap band so I am very curious about it. Hope you dont mind all the questions.

Wow...that's a loaded post!....lol My surgery?...hmmm Yes, I had the Lap Band, yes I'm happy with it! It was performed on 01-26-07. I can't feel it! I was in the hospital 28 hours, after the leak test I got to go home. 1 week of liguids, 2 weeks of soft food then back to a normal food but smaller portions. Lots of trapped gas from surgery! Pain meds needed
WELL!! Only half my post got posted! How'd I do that?...lol
Anyway, I had a morphine pump, that took care of most the pain but my back and hips were hurting pretty bad! I can't remember what all I wrote now...lol
I have lost over 23lbs and feel a lot better! I'm off my diabetes meds and my lasix/potassium and my prilosec is next! The more active I get the better I feel!
If you want more info about the surgery click on the "search" button at the bottom of my post. That will give you my last 100 posts and thats where you will find my larger posts about my surgery. I hope that helps!! Deb M
Debbie, I had the same problem it is a reaction to the surgery probably. I would get some hydrocortisone cream or what I used was monistat chafing powder gel. It helped relieve the itching a lot, and it dries to a powdery finish, so it isn't greasy. I wouldn't put it on the wounds directly, but around them most definately. After you are all healed, use lotion. I use Jergen's new baby lotion (in a green bottle called Soothing Naturals) and it helps a lot too.
btw, Friday will be 3 months out and I still have minor itching on my belly. hoping it eventually goes away
