CIGNA APPROVED MY WLS!!
Well, it's been over a week since Dena called me to tell me CIGNA had indeed APPROVED my wls. I've been waiting to post because I don't have a surgery date yet and wanted to post it as well. Dena assured me I should know the date by the end of this week.
As you all may remember, I had an issue with CIGNA saying that the surgery was excluded from our plan. However, after discussing it with the Human Resource Manager found it that it had been excluded by mistake (we changed insurance carriers on 11/1/06). So they amended the policy and CIGNA approved me with a week! The letter they sent me authorized the surgery from 2/1/07 to 2/3/07. Now mind you I didn't get the letter until last Friday! I knew there was no way I could have the surgery that quick!
I've been battling bronchitis for over a month now. Went back to my PCP on Monday and told him I needed a shot of rocephine to get over this stuff. I used to get this junk every winter and it would take an antibiotic shot to get over it. It's been at least 5 years since I've had it this bad. Thankfully, my PCP listened to me and gave me the shot as well as another week's supply of antibiotics. This is my third round of antibiotics since January 2! I have stayed inside all week because the cold air really get my cough going. I feel better today.
Dena told me there is an outside chance I could have my surgery as soon as the end of February. There is a Youth Trip February 23rd which my husband and oldest are going. Since my hubby is a sponsor he will have to go otherwise the group can't go because they will not have enough sponsors. If not the end of February then it will be the first part of April. I'm nervous, anxious and excited. My family thinks I should get it done asap. I on the other hand realize how close the end of February really is. My worry is that I won't be completely well by then. I would like to start walking on the treadmill and preparing my body for this surgery. As I've stated before I've left it in the Lord's hands and need to remember to not try and grab it out of His hands.
Please keep me in your prayers that the surgery date will be when the Lord wants it done and not by my time table.
Thanks so much. Everyone of you are such a blessing!
Love,
Debbie D.
P.S. I'm going to be needing a wls
Anyone interested?

CONGRATS Debbie-there is room for you on the losers bench!!!
We will pray for you to be totally healed and well ASAP and that the surgery happens when its the right time. I know the end of Feb seems like its fast-but look how long yo have waited....hopefully the dates will work out between the trip and the surgery. I will definitely be praying and thinking about you. I know the rollercoaster ride can take your breathe away at times-but when its nearing the end-it seems like its then, that it hits you that its FINALLY over!!
Your in our prayers and good luck to you...hope that since your feeling better today, that the worst is over!! Take care, Jan
Congrats Debbie!!! Will pray for this to all work out in His time like you asked. I'm sure He'll take good care of you!
The waiting can be tough but now that your are approved, the hard parts done really.
Hang in there and soon you'll be a LOOSER! : ) Getting started walking is a very good idea as any form of exercise will help in your recovery ability.

Hi Debbie,Where are you from. I am a nurse (not working at this time) but I have worked at Bothwell and with Dr, Hornbostel and his patients. Let me know what time and day when you find out. Also any special people you would like called. I usually try to meet each person the morning of surgery while you are waiting and then follow thru until you are out of surgery. If this is ok then let me know. Or let me know what you need for me to do.I look forward to metting you. Julia
