OK - What gives???
This week has been stinky - no weight loss. I know I have seen other people post that they have hit a temporary stop, but I'm only in week 3. I have been following the full liquids for the most part. I have added 4 saltine crackers a day and somedays a cheese stick - to satisfy my salt/crunchy cravings. Other than that, I don't feel like I'm eating much. I try to get in my protein shakes, but they just do not agree right now. I am so frustrated that in 7 days I have not lost anything. Since surgery I am only down 15 pounds and feeling like a total failure
Any ideas what I should do??

just keep on keeping on when i went back for my one month check up i had only lost 13 pounds so dont worry it will come off. are you walking any. I know it is a hard concept to get your mind wrapped around but you dont have to worry about eating too much it is more you need to eat more to lose. when you start getting in your protein the amount you are suppose to have and the water where you need to be you will start losing fast. and if you walk it will make it go even faster. Marilyn I was slow getting weight off right after surgery also, seemed I hit a brick wall and could not get throught it. Like Jan said tho, once I started getting in 3 protein shakes and all the water I was spose to and then some it started coming off. Seems the protein shakes, lots of water and exercise is really important, least for me it is. Hope that helps.

Hi Marilyn,
I agree with everyone else, you just have to keep on keeping on. You are not a failure and from what I understand there isn't really much in the first 3 months that you can do to mess things up.
As I've watched the boards, I've noticed that it is pretty common to hit a stall around the 3-6 week period. The weight loss will resume, your body just need to adjust to the shock that it has just been through. (((HUGS))) to you and things WILL start moving again eventually.
BTW, I see you live in Warrensburg ( I was just there yesterday)...I'm in Lexington. Howdy neighbor *L*.

There will be times in this journey, especially in the first 6 months to a year you will stop losing, but then one day you weigh...and you are losing again. We all get panicked when this happens, but I know of few that did not experience it. It seems like the body needs to catch up, adjust, and continue to lose.
Hi Marilyn~
When I was 3 weeks out-my scale didnt move for "9" days!! I thought that I would be the first person in history that this surgery didnt work for!!! I was so upset!! But, I also wasnt feeling good, wasnt getting all my protein in-AND wasnt able to get all my liquid in-and eating? Forget it!! Once I started feeling better, I drank my shakes faithfully and started drinking non stop basically-and the weight started to come off again. In our support meeting, I met someone who said her scale didnt move in 21 days and she has had other times where its been over a week-and her surgeon told her that sometimes our bodies stop losing to catch up!! In that time, however-I lost inches, in fact I lost 28 inches in 19 days...have you done your measurements?
All I can personally tell you is NOT to stress when the scale doesnt move-and even if you are eating a couple of saltines/cheese stick-Jan is right-you HAVE to eat more to lose more-we just have to train our brains to that way of thinking since we have been taught otherwise our whole lives. I just found some really good shakes and it actually feels like a "treat" to have one!! Good luck Marilyn!! Jan
