Boy the board was sure busy yesterday, Can every one tell how much we love our support group? It is amazing. The Radiology dept at Skaggs called me yesterday morning and wanted to know if I would want to come in early for my appointment and so I went at 3 instead of 7. Good thing too as many x-rays they took of my back and shoulder and then the MRI on top of all of that I was there for 2 hours. Hope they got what ever it is they were looking at all angles. Lol I wont know anything now till I see my PCP on the 29th. Claudette: so happy for you and you all getting a new support group going and I hope it goes as well as our is. If you all have half as much fun as we do it will be against the law. Lol Diana: I don't understand the job search for you either but God has something special planned for you so try to be in his will and hang in there. What your doctor told you was his goal weight that doesn't mean that it has to stop there ok? If you want to work at it it will go lower. That was just your 70% of excess weight that he was telling you about. Debbie: well not long now. 2 more days. And don't worry about having to move when your back is hurting. They will do it for you. I think Andrew described it to you. Myself I don't remember. Once they game me the Versace in the holding room I was out like a light. Nothing until I was waking up in the recovery room and thinking that I wish these fools would leave me alone and let me sleep.Lol Vesta : you were missed very much last night and you missed a great meeting lol.But you will get to be the star next month. Lol So get to work and lose that weight. Tami: great to see you last night. You are so cute and I just wish that I could have been your age when I had the surgery. Im so glad that you and your hubby are getting things going on the right track. And the fact that you have found your help at church is the biggest step in the right direction. Keep it up. Sherr: sure hope you aren't catching what a lot of people are catching. Did you get something to stop the nasal attacks? Usually if you get something and get it started fast enough you can get it stopped but if you wait for a couple of days you are sunk. Janet: sure was great to see you there too. Have you tried making the protein balls yet? They really are good and I keep them in my ref all the time. They make a good snack , so you aren't eating things you aren't suppose to . I will let you all know as soon as I know what the pcp says about my tests I had run today. Im sure it isn't anything so don't worry. Lana: Hey can you check and see if the Gaither Homecoming is going to be performing where you work? I know they are going to be in Springfield March 30 but I cant remember which university. I know what you mean about food being a small price to pay. I don't think of food anything like I did before surgery. It is a weird thing but as Martha Stewart says , It is a good thing. Lol Tara : certainly hope you will continue to come back again and again. You will have lots to contribute to the meetings too. Melissa: You don't know how much so many of us think of you as positive proof that prayer works. The knees were getting sort of sore from all the kneeling.lol So good to see you back and in such good form. You look fantastic. Andrew: Hey there man. Cant wait till you get to come up and visit us again in March and like I said if you want to stay at our guest cottage you are more than welcome too. Glenda S: was wonderful to meet you too last night. You need to quit saying only lost. Every pound lost is a victory girl. I lost but 3 pounds this last whole month but it is still a victory from where I was. Will be looking forward to seeing you next meeting. Sugar: hey baby sis. Glad you got to go onto your Chritian ladies group after the support meeting. I think the protein balls would probably be good using most any flavor of protein powder. I guess if you use choc. Powder it might have the taste of a reeses p. b. cup but the cho mint might be really really good. WE will just claim that Thursday with the doctor will be a go and that March 9th is your day. My back is really hurting since all the laying on those hard x-ray beds and stuff so I think I will take a pain pill and try to get some sleep tonight. Hopefully it will happen. I kept wakeing up last night from the pain. Talk to you all tomorrow. LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS JAN

Well Good Morning Missouriiiiii Man wasnt yesturday a beautiful day?? Yeah it was still cool but it sure was sunny. I'm up early this morning. We gotta make a run up to potosi this morning, got a couple things to take care of up there and wanted to get started early so we could hit the gym on our way back home. The gym is finally paying off I think, this week I went down 7 lbs, woot woot, Susan even lost 6 lbs, Im so proud of her, she's doing really good for not having the surgery. She's pretty much eating what I eat, just a lil more of it but still within a good diets guidline. She does 2 protein shakes in place of a meal then eats one meal and so forth, anyway my goal is to be down to 340 by the time I see Dr. Hornbostel again, that'll be right at 100 lbs since surgery, I think I can do it. WooHoo Deb 2 more days and you'll cross over to the losers bench We'll be eagarly waiting for Davids call that your out of surgery!! Jan I sure hope you were able to get some good rest, that pain has to be annoying, we'll sure be praying that your doc can find what it is and correct quickly. We cant wait til the march meeting either, we'd love to stay at the Cook Bed and Breakfast if there's room at the inn. Brenda again Happy Birthday Gurl, sure hope you have a wonderful day Well Im off here, gotta fix my shake and get ready to go. Have a great and blessed day everyone. Hugs and Prayers, Andrew

Good Morning Fellow OH Peeps~ Jan, glad all the testing is over for you...hope your pain lessons today so you can enjoy the sunshine! I have to say-it feels so good to get on here and post again-I sure have missed everyone and this site-in a BAD way!! Today is my daughters 16th birthday-and the first day they have been to school since we got that ice storm. We had to put off the slumber party for another week because she couldnt contact all the girls that were invited as some still dont have power or phones at this point. My mom says Steph is a special baby because she was born on Neil Diamonds birthday!! I will be running errands and helping my 3 year old make a birthday cake for her-and then his b-day is in 4 days! Its been a CRAZY month...thats for sure! Take care and have a great Wednesday everyone. Love, Jan

well, good morning. I am actually home for the day even if I am on call all day. I had another of my RN come in for coverage today so I could be off. I felt very tired. Just got up a few minutes ago. Plan to call Tony as we may have to postpone Monday new meeting since the library wont work out this time. Just depends what Janet finds out today. Everyone have a great day. I have some running to do, mail package to grandson for birthday, and to dollar store and chores at home. Deb, you will be in my prayers. Gods blessings to all. Colette

Good morning everyone!! Well, I got the ball rolling when I went to the PCP on Monday. I had to see another Dr cause my Dr is on maternity leave for 2 months. Anyway, I had to go give blood for testing. Thyroid, and Cholesteral are the only ones I remember. Then I have to call today for a appointment for a sleep test, and an appointment in 2 weeks for a full physical. I guess she will tell me then where we going next. It is a good start. Since I have't really been to the Dr much I have to kinda start from skratch and build a medical file. Sounds like everyone had fun at the support group. I wi**** wasn't so far away. I am going to go the one in Marylin hights. That is a lot closer. I am also going to make an appoinment to go to a WLS at one of the Dr's in St Louis. My hubby will go with me. I was goingto go this Saterday, but the class was full already. Well, everyone here is fighting a nasty cold. I am a nanny for a 10 mo old and her whole family have been passing it around for several weeks and now my husband and I have it too. I got most of they day off yesterday cause they all came home from work and school sick. So they sent me home to recover too. So I just vegged on the couch and kept pu,ping in the water and the cold meds. Speaking of the 10 mo old, she is just waking up from her nap, so I got to run. Talk to you all soon. Have a great day!! Jan, as I sit with my cup of steaming Folgers and look over the agenda of the day, the Forum's members are not far from my thoughts and prayers. I pull out my daily Scripture quotes to see what the Lord has for me today and for encouragement this is what I found, "The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust." Psalm 18:2 And the second one, "He leadeth me beside the still waters; he restoreth my soul!" Psalm 23:2,3. I'm still in my preliminary tests, having my psyc. done February 1. Dr. Scott ordered 3 more tests, 1) Stress Test, 2) Sleep Study, I can't remember the other one, then I asked my doctor to set me up on my every 5th year colonoscopy just for me. So...you are all my heroes and I lurk, listen, laugh, and weep as I wait for my own 'date.' Peace, Bob.

Bob, I read one of your recent posts where you said you just do not feel God walking WITH you on this surgery path yet. I wonder.......do you pray that He'll "open a door no man can close, and close a door that no man can open"?? That's how I prayed before my WLS and when my day was finally here, I had a peace like no other. No doubts whatsoever, and I know HE was with me. Recently my pastor said he's been praying the same prayer (I smiled since I didn't even go to church much pre-op and didn't know a PASTOR would pray such a prayer) as our small church is going through some BIG changes. Just thought I'd share with you what worked for me, cause when you don't FEEL God's support it's hard to have the confidence to take that step. I hope you FEEL Him soon! : ) Tami

Hello Missouri..... Sorry I have been MIA(missing in action) the last couple days but I was spending some down time with my hubby....Monday was our anniversary and we went to Springfield to do some shopping and then picked up the kiddos from my parents....Then yesterday I was in bed most of the day because I had a terrible headache and a stuffy nose....I got some cheap cold medicine and took some and it took some of the pressure away....but here I am at work today.....busy, busy, busy.....Had to go to the dentist this morning, I had not been in almost five years...they did a really good cleaning and found no cavities...I was happy about that.... My mom went for her preop yesterday and she is a big "GO" for next Wednesday....I am so happy for her....I am going to try and get off and go up to the hospital on her surgery date....If I get off I am not going to let her know I will just show up....I am going to take her out this weekend probably Saturday and buy her a special something to take with her on her new "Birthday"......She is nervous as a cat but I keep telling her she is going to be okay...... Hope this post finds that everyone is doing good.....I really wanted to go to the support group meeting since we were in Springfield on Monday but I had to get back to get the kiddos from my parents since mom had to be in Columbia for her preop yesterday morning.....Maybe next month my mom and I can come down to the group because my hubby is off on Mondays and he can get the kiddos home from school for me..... Hope everyone has a blessed day..... God bless Rachael

Good Afternoon Posties!! Sorry I'm late! I tried posting earlier, had this long post all ready to go, had already hit the preview button and pow...it was GONE!! I hate when that happens! I was even coping and pasting it to another program so not to lose it. When I went to get it from the other program, it was empty soooo..... Hello All... I pray that everyone is doing great! Me? I'm doing okay, just a little frustrated! I was up at 3am, when back to bed at 7 and finally drug myself outta bed at 10. So I'm starting my day a little behind schedule. Yesterday, my daughter's best friend came by for a visit. She's like one of my own. She is going through some hard times and is leaning on me for support. Unfortunately, I'm not one of those people that can chat and get things done at the same time so that put me behind too. Wow...(my first WOW moment...lol) one more day and my new life begins! My final pre-op post will be around 3pm tomorrow! After that, Andrew or his wife Susan will let everyone know how I'm doing. I will get back on here when I can. David doesn't do computers and after this morning, I don't blame him...lol David's not a real talker until he gets to know you so getting information from him about the surgery may be like pulling teeth...lol Andrew, please be patient with him! I know your a good Christian man and with your past experiences in church your the right one for David to be talking to. Ask him what you want or need to know because he has no idea what he is suppose to tell you other than, I made it!...lol I'm going to give him a cheat sheet, maybe that will help him and if, God Forbid, anything goes wrong I know that you Andrew are one that can help him through it. I have a question for the pre-ops. It's a little embarrassing but here goes...I bought 2 bottles of Citrate Mag. One for the day of surgery and one just because by body doesn't always react the way it's suppose to when it comes to that kind of stuff so I tried it out early, taking it at 1pm and sure enough after 1 hour I had 1 small bm and nothing more. This morning I had a little better bm but not what I was expecting! Did any of you experience this or am I the one in a million? I'm not asking for medical advice but I sure would like to know what you guys think. Did any of you go through the same thing? Could it be that my system doesn't have much in it or should I call Dr. H's office to see about getting something worse?....lol I'm thinking that this 1000 cal. diet I'm on could be the reason for it and that I should just drink the other Citrate Mag. earlier on Thursday and go ahead with the surgery! As for all the prayers and well wishers, I can't thank you all enough! You mean so much to me and I sooo appreciate every single one of you! You have helped carry me through some pretty hard times... from my hitting myself over the head with a fence post pounder...(not funny Jan!...lol) and depression to illness and family issues! There are not enough words to express how I feel about that but know that I thank you from the depts of my heart!! @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ Prayer warriors...what can I say? Here we go again? You guys know who you are and what beautiful gifts from God, you all are! Unfortunately, I have to ask that you help me get ready for surgery early! I haven't had any real issues with this surgery until now! There have been some flub ups between me, this surgery, Dr H's office and the hospital and the devil is trying real hard to make these issues bigger than they really are! First, there was my order of surgery stating that I was to have RNY instead of Lap Band, as I requested. I crossed it out and put Lap Band which brought it to the nurse's attention. It has since been fixed! Then there was the issue with the anesthesiologist were we didn't click real well over the ng tube. Then yesterday, I got a call from Margie at Dr H's office informing me that I was to report to the hospital at 6:30am instead of 8:00am like I was first assigned ,due to the guy before me having his surgery cancelled. I reminded Margie that she called me and told me that same thing about a week ago except the guy before me needed more bloodwork done. She then she said....oh yea, that's right, I'm sorry..then we will see you Friday morning at 6:30am. I know all this is no big deal, stuff happens but I have these annoying nit pickers in the back of my mind, making me think that these are all signs that I shouldn't have the surgery, that I should cancel! I ask that you all help me with these issues! I'm having a hard time with them on my own! I know if we join forces they don't have a chance!! I feel that if God didn't want me to do this, He would of told me! I am going full steam ahead with this surgery knowing that I have God's Blessing! If for some strange reason I don't make it through this surgery, it's okay! I just went home with Dad!! If that happens, I will miss guys but we will meet again! I'll be waiting by the gates! I would also like to add that we pray for the man that got his surgery cancelled for whatever reason. Of course I don't know his name but God does so please pray that whatever is wrong with him can be fixed so he can have his surgery and if that's not possible then pray that he is saved in Jesus name! @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ Well, I think that is all I wrote the first time...lol God Bless Everyone of you and your families! Love & Prayers, Deb M.
